I used Careem Pay to transfer funds abroad. They offer a 24-hour rate lock while you add their account as a beneficiary and transfer funds locally. This was not my first transaction, so I followed the same process as before.
Once I transferred the amount, there was no update from their side at all. My bank confirmed the funds were successfully debited with no issues or holds.
That’s when the problem started.
Multiple calls and in-app messages were met with scripted responses and no actual resolution. There was no clarity, no ownership, and no effort to process the transaction.
Meanwhile, the exchange rate had dropped significantly during this time.
After the 24-hour window passed, they cancelled the transaction, and when I followed up for a refund, they started asking for multiple details — referring to it as a “mistaken transfer” and positioning themselves as if they were helping me recover the amount.
The whole experience shows delays, poor support, and complete lack of accountability. For a financial service handling large transactions, this is unacceptable.
Would not trust them again for any serious transfer.

I made a grocery order and captain(Aamir)contacted me while starting the trip. As I was waiting for delivery he has cancelled the delivery stating the road is closed, surprisingly I received confirmation on order delivery.
The customer care contacted and asked me to reach the store and collect the order and i reached the store and found all roads are open and accessible but carreem wants to charge delivery cost for store pick up from customer. Once I visit the store surprising order was cancelled and refund initiated.
Now I cannot get the order in store and initiating the refund to bank will take 7 days.🤔🫡
Please provide zero star option.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Careem rides, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking.
The main issue was with fare calculation, which was completely inconsistent and confusing. After completing my ride, I received five different fare amounts via email, all for the same trip. This clearly reflects a lack of transparency and reliability in their pricing system.
What made things worse was the customer support. It took more than two weeks of continuous follow-ups just to get a response, and even then, the issue was not resolved. In the end, they simply said they could not help.
To make matters worse, their explanation made no sense. They said the fare shown before the ride is just the “minimum.” In my case, the final fare was the same as the initial estimate—but that’s exactly the problem. There were no tolls, no traffic, and no delays, and I even took a different (more efficient) route. Logically, the fare should have been lower, not the same. Their reasoning was vague, unconvincing, and felt like a standard template response rather than a genuine attempt to resolve the issue.
Overall, this experience reflects poor fare logic, lack of accountability, and ineffective customer service. I have completely lost trust in their pricing system.
Avoid booking rides here if you expect fair pricing and responsive support.

I waited for 2 hours for my order, I ordered at 9 AM and at 11 AM I called Careem helpline asking what happened about my order, they said let me check with the captain, and then kept me on hold for quite a while and returned with the information that they can’t reach the captain and have to cancel my order after 2 hours of waiting, later I got a call saying that we would like to offer you 10 aed as compensation for your troubles, when I ordered breakfast and they couldn’t even deliver it till lunch and still they had the audacity to tell me that please order again from Careem. I would never recommend Careem for food, it’s the worst experience I had when I was busy working and hoping to have a good breakfast they made me wait for 2 hours and at the end cancelled the order.

Avoid this company like the plague! I rented the car in Dubai on Careem (they use Swapp who are also rubbish) for 1 month which I paid 2339 AED ($636 USD) FULL. With that was a 200 AED discount for the first month rental.
After just one week with the car, a drone from Iran hit the residential building opposite my apartment, another hit the ground and several others flew overhead very low followed by fighter jets, I decided to urgently leave the apartment and made arrangements for SWAPP to collect the car with the building security, leaving the keys available to them.
I drove a total of 12km because the GPS was jammed so I could not get around. I did contact them to see if they'd do the responsible thing and offer even a partial refund, but the first thing they did was cite their terms. I don't care one bit about their terms but whatever that's what they did.
Next thing I was not expecting. Because they took the car back early, even though they are not giving me any form of refund, they want to charge me 200 AED ($54 USD) to remove the discount because I did not keep the car for the whole month!
They never said that when I arranged for them to collect the car. It could have been left in the basement of the building in the secure parking where I left it until the whole month was over. Instead I gave them a car back that they can rent again despite me having paid for another 3 weeks!
I did one trip in this car to a local mall, that one trip cost me 2339 AED ($636 USD).
Now I've told them to return the car to the basement and leave it there until the rental contact ends and then they won't need to charge me the 200 AED ($54 USD). Absolutely rubbish company.
In the time of crisis you cannot even rely on them, let alone under normal circumstances!
SWAPP use Thrift car rentals - you might as well go direct to Thrift its about the same price anyway!

I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding a recent taxi booking made through the Careem application a few days ago.
For the first booking, the driver did not arrive at my location. When I contacted him by phone, he informed me that the destination was too far and asked me to cancel the ride myself. Following this, I made a second booking.
Unfortunately, the second driver also did not come to my correct location. Although I had shared my live location through the application, the driver went to a different area and informed me that my location was incorrect. However, I could clearly see on the map that the driver was moving away from the location I had provided.
Due to this situation, I had no option but to cancel the ride. I was therefore surprised to see that I have been charged a cancellation fee of AED 13. Since the issue did not occur from my side, I believe this charge is unfair.
I would appreciate it if you could kindly review this matter and remove the cancellation fee from my account.

I would like to formally raise a serious complaint regarding the extremely poor service I experienced with my recent food order through the Careem platform.
I placed a food order more than two hours ago, yet the order has still not been delivered. During this time, I had multiple back-and-forth calls and follow-ups, but unfortunately the issue has not been resolved and the food has still not arrived.
This level of service is highly disappointing and unacceptable. Customers rely on your platform for timely delivery, and waiting for more than two hours without any proper resolution reflects very poorly on the service standards.
What concerns me even more is whether other customers are also facing similar challenges. Situations like this significantly impact customer trust and confidence in the platform.
If this matter is not addressed promptly, I may be compelled to escalate this issue to the Consumer Protection / Consumer Awareness authorities to bring attention to the service shortcomings.
I request the following immediate actions:
A clear explanation of the delay
Immediate resolution or cancellation with refund
Appropriate compensation for the inconvenience caused
Assurance that such incidents will not occur again
I hope Careem will treat this complaint seriously and take swift action to resolve the matter.

Careem support agents have zero visibility and just tell you to keep waiting. In the UAE, you don't have to wait forever. I used Paymentcasefile.com to automatically draft a formal bank trace request and a 15-day Sanadak escalation notice. The moment I sent that generated document to Careem citing UAE Central Bank rules, they immediately assigned a senior agent and found the UTR.
Only use their remittance service if you know how to escalate legally when things go wrong.

At a time in Dubai when we are scared and it’s Ramadan, Careem is taking advantage of this awful situation. Where is humanity??? When you order food, it says 20-30 mins delivery… 2 hours later nothing. I called them- no answer. I called the restaurant- couldn’t understand me. Told me to speak to Careem. I called the delivery guy, poor guy has no gps. It’s not his fault 20 mins promise became 2 hours!!!! It’s Ramadan!!! This is the 4th time this has happened and I ended up paying and telling the driver eat the meal. UAE and Careem and this whole country is corrupt. Say from the beginning when ordering food… it will take 2 hours. But no they want your money, don’t answer the phone and give nonsensical reasons. Shame on you Careem. Shame on you UAE.
