I first heard about your company when I stayed in a hotel in Harrogate. They were delicious chocolates

So I have wanted a hamper for years, so I decided to buy one for myself for Christmas. Amazing food, & treats beautifully packaged. Great talking point as I bring it out for after dinner treats or movie nights, guest get to pick a treat for us to all share, the straw packaging adds to the surprise.

I love C&B products. I especially love the option to design your own hamper. I’ve used it on more than one occasion now and whenever I have gifted it, I always receive many compliments! I would definitely recommend. You won’t regret it.

Ordering was easy and received the two tins of shortbread quickly and promptly. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to sample as they were bought for a gift but I'm sure my aunt loved them ❤️

One of the best teas ever.

Bought the onion relish, honey and a couple of simnel cakes that were on offer. The onion relish is fantastic and something we have bought many times. The cakes were moist and very tasty, while the honey is a lovely addition to my gran yogurt in a morning.

Lovely chocolates! Bought as a present for Christmas and went down very well with the family. We were even going to keep them for ourselves...but didnt. Will be back again for more!!

I ordered some goods from this company and chose express delivery, which I paid extra for. I was given a delivery date of April 5th. However on dispatch the delivery date given was the 11th. I could of had the same delivery date for free but I chose Express delivery specifically as I wanted it sooner. I contacted customer services and was told I would be refunded the delivery cost, they also gave me some excuses as to why it had not been delivered. Here I am still waiting for my refund. I have since contacted customer services and they said they would provide proof of the refund, I have not recieved proof of the refund or the refund itself. So it leaves no option but to take the matter further.

If there were zero stars, that’s what would be awarded. My experience with Cartwright and Butler has been appalling since I first placed an order in December for a Christmas gift. I didn’t receive a tracking number for the item so followed up after Christmas. Item hadn’t been sent but a re delivery was offered, which I accepted. Early January, the item made it as far as DHL depot but was then returned to Cartwright and Butler. The next two weeks involved me sending several emails to find out an update and receiving assurances that the parcel was in the building. At the end of the month I rang C&B and asked for a refund. A week later nothing had been received so again I emailed, promised again that refund would be with me in 2-3 days. Nothing again, so a further email was sent, but I was now told that the person issuing refunds had gone on holiday! I finally received a refund at the start of this week, with the final insult being a £7.96 deduction being taken from the total amount! No apology was given throughout this experience, and I will not be buying from C&B again.

I contacted Cartwright and Butler as the Chocolate Wafer Rounds were below standard and all the chocolate was falling off the biscuits due to lamination, I contacted customer services and got an automatic reply saying they would be in touch, some 3 weeks later still no correspondence. The hampers are over priced and substandard and I would recommend that you DON'T purchase from this company as their customer service is appalling, after reading some of the other reviews, I wish I had never heard of or purchased anything from this company! !

Update: After me contacting the company once again, they have promised to ship a new hamper of items today. 🤞

I ordered items in November to be placed into two shipments for delivery 20.12.23. I received several confusing notificationd on 20.11.23 to say the items were being shipped. I contacted customer ‘care’ immediately and was assured by phone and email that the orders would be held until the specified date in December.i have lots of emails. I reminded them at that time there were two addresses for hampers to be shipped to. I contacted ‘customer care’ on 20.12.23 as I had received no shipping information or tracker numbers. I received an apology and was assured that the order was shipped and would arrive on 21.12.23. ‘With a sorry it’s late’ . I contacted them yesterday and today (23.12.23) to say only one of the addresses had received their hamper. I was assured that someone would be in touch by phone . Today I get a one line email apologising that they have shipped everything to one address - with no suggestion of any resolution!!! These two recipients are 300 miles apart and I am overseas so what am I supposed to do with this information? I now have an elderly relative who thinks we have totally forgotten her at Christmas despite all my efforts to ensure this has stayed on plan. It’s the total lack of proposal to resolve the situation that has infuriated me. This place is clearly in chaos. I do hope a senior executive reads this review and thinks how they would feel if it was their Christmas gift?

I paid extra for a specified delivery date and this has passed, been rearranged and passed again. I'd suggest to all to look elsewhere for a Christmas present that will actually arrive when they say it will.

Update: again promised delivery before Christmas. It is now boxing day and no further contact and no delivery.

This is the second purchase of cartwright and butler this year. Both bought as gifts. The first one was so popular that it made me return for a 2nd time. Beautiful wooden crate and perfectly packed. Would highly recommend
