Worst customer service, ruined my proposal
I’m going to start with the good since I don’t have as much to say there.
The resort itself is beautiful, the rooms are very clean and appear to be kept up consistently. All of the staff (other than the lobby staff) were incredibly friendly and remembered us anytime we passed by. The drinks were great as long as you specified what liquor you wanted in the drink. Having access to both sides of the resort made for a good time as well! Want to party? Go to the other side. Want to relax? Stay on your side.
Now for the bad into the worst.
The food at the buffet was good for the most part and the room service food was okay. Most of the food however, is just really lacking flavor and was very bland and all around unenjoyable.
On our last night I reserved dinner at what appeared to be their most romantic/intimate restaurant only for us not to be notified that restaurant was under restoration (though it didn’t appear to be even a little) and they were temporarily hosting at their most casual (by the pool, plastic chairs) restaurant. So it took us 15-20 minutes to figure that out.
The beach would have been beautiful if there wasn’t seaweed literally everywhere. I didn’t see staff attempting to clean it until our last day there.
When I was receiving a massage with my fiance, the masseuse continually felt up into my boxers and as I speak some Spanish I hears some of the things they were speaking about me which was wildly inappropriate and made me incredibly uncomfortable.
Now this is where it gets worse.
For SIX MONTHS I was attempting to be in contact with this resort to upgrade my room and set up a private dinner on the beach at 6:30 the evening of our arrival date so I could propose to my girlfriend at sunset. Every time I emailed the resort, whether it be in English or Spanish, I never got a response. Every time I called I was hung up on within seconds of me starting to speak.
A week before we left for the trip I FINALLY got someone to not hang up on me. I was told the room I wanted was available but I could not upgrade until I arrived and would have to hope it is still available (weird). I was told for the dinner I had to be emailed a menu to choose from before setting up the dinner. They said they sent it then hung up. Never got the email. Called two more times to get the same result with the 4th call being told I should just wait until I arrive to schedule the dinner.
So we arrive and the room was available but I was overcharged for it as I’m a rewards member it should have been heavily discounted or free. Then upon booking the dinner I was told “you have to schedule that 24 hours in advance so we can’t schedule that for you tonight.” WHAT?! I was livid. It had to be that night as I had people coming to surprise her for the proposal. I went back and forth with them for 20 minutes to eventually be told “we can make an exception to book you tonight for 9pm” so I said F it and booked it. I’ll have to do the proposal before dinner. By the way, the “private” dinner is not private or really on the beach. It’s at a little tiki bar somewhat on the beach about 50-75 yards from the water and there’s at least 3-4 other tables in this small tiki bar area with you. So I’m glad I didn’t propose there.
Our room didn’t have the complimentary champagne that I was told we’d have and we didn’t have any beach/pool towels either even though our room had a private pool.
Now here’s a fun kicker with that night. The people we had coming to surprise her had their rooms booked on the other side. When they arrived they were told that their rooms wouldn’t be ready until tomorrow and they would have to find somewhere to stay until then but would still be charged?? That was a nightmare and eventually they paid to upgrade to stay on our side of the resort.
Another fun thing that happened with our friends, they were sharing a room but not all leaving the same day. When the first group left, the staff came in and grabbed ALL the bags from the room. So our friend that stayed longer had her bags taken to the airport. They had 20 minutes to board their flight by the time they got ahold of us and the lobby staff refused to own up to their mistake and wouldn’t put their ego aside for over 15 minutes before they finally called us a taxi to go get the luggage and refused to cover the cost of the $60 taxi that was their mistake in the first place.
I was double charged and overcharged for a few things on this trip and the customer service won’t even respond to my emails.
All in all the resort is pretty (minus the seaweed) but if you’re trying to come here to plan anything or relax, DONT!! I was stressed 1/2 the time due to the lobby staff. I’d recommend staying in the family side before anything but even then that’s a stretch.

**Disappointing Experience at Catalonia
Our recent stay at Catalonia Resort left much to be desired. Despite high expectations, we encountered numerous issues that significantly impacted our overall experience.
Firstly, the reservation process for restaurants was a complete debacle. Despite our efforts to plan ahead, we faced challenges securing reservations, leading to frustration and inconvenience during our stay.
To make matters worse, our room attendant, Angela, not only mishandled our belongings but also deliberately damaged our iPad and stole money from our room. When we brought these serious concerns to the attention of resort management, we were met with indifference and a refusal to take responsibility for the actions of their staff.
This lack of accountability and poor handling of our grievances further exacerbated our disappointment. We expected better from a reputed resort like Catalonia, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations.
In light of these issues, I cannot in good conscience recommend Catalonia Resort to fellow travelers. It's essential for management to address these systemic problems promptly to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of their guests in the future.

The room we rented is right next to a building undergoing renovation with extremely loud banging on the walls from very early morning and going on late into the evening. The hotel should not have rented this room out. We were not warned, not offered any ear plugs, a change of room or any compensation. The hotel simply claimed its not their responsibility.
The bathroom also had a strange smell and although the plug was changed on the bath it still began to drain out water before you were ready.
Do not use this hotel the management do not care about its guests

Lo único bueno que podría decir de esta empresa es el buen ambiente que hay entre trabajadores del mismo rango.
Es una empresa que intenta ser internacional, pero no consigue ser más que una empresa familiar anticuada donde el secretismo prima, la falta de información y la transparencia así como el poco valor que se le da al empleado.
Mantienen al empleado con falsas esperanzas de una formación y un ascenso prometido antes de firmar el contrato que jamás va a llegar para luego darle la patada cuando este intenta que se cumplan las condiciones establecidas desde el principio.
También fomenta la desigualdad entre trabajadores de diferente rango.
Es una empresa donde sus directivos en lo que menos piensan es en el bienestar de lo que supuestamente ellos es su activo más importante, las personas.

Buenas tardes, el pasado puente de diciembre, nos hospedamos mi familia y yo, en el hotel Catalonia Majorica de Palma de Mallorca.
Siendo un hotel de 4 estrellas, uno espera unos mínimos para esa categoría.
Pues bien, no se cumplieron. Detallo:
Llegamos ya para casi cenar y dormír,… ya la habitación al llegar denotaba que si se había limpiado muy bien,.. pelusas en el suelo, un chicle aplastado,… y para colmo en una esquina debajo de dos literas, había ositos de gominola y bolsas de papel, tipo kleenex,… lo niños no quisieron dormir en la zona literas, pues había porquería,.. y aunque la quitamos, ya no querían,…
Al día siguiente reclamo en recepción y me piden disculpas…. Que limpiaran detenidamente.
Por la noche cuando volvemos para dormir, estaba más limpia, pero aún había suciedad, la zona “0”, la de las literas, seguía sucia,… los niños otra vez no quisieron dormir en sus camas,.. así que otra noche más durmiendo los cuatro en la misma cama.
Así que a la mañana siguiente volvimos a poner reclamación,… esta vez no solo verbal,… sino tb escrita, para denunciar el tema en consumo.
Mal vamos si, un hotel de 4 estrellas, no cumple con los estándares de calidad. No os recomiendo que os hospedéis allí!

Me encantaron las facilidades! Excelente servicio al clientes de todas las areas. Especialmente en la área de animación, Emmanuel es extraordinario!!! La iluminación, decoraciones y el ambiente muy hermoso. Solo encuentro que hay oportunidades en la area de la comida, que mantengan la comida caliente y la limpieza de la habitación.

Catalonia Hotels, Ronda and Granada, a fabulous experience
We stayed at the Catalonia Hotel in Ronda a couple of years ago and had such a wonderful experience we vowed to use them on a future trip to Granada. We recently returned and if anything this experience exceeded the previous one. Check in was smooth and efficient, staff were professional and helpful and recognised our Reward Membership and upgraded us to a suite which was fabulous. The rooftop plunge pool and bar were greatly appreciated after a very hot days sightseeing at Alhambra Palace. Will definitely be staying with this boutique Hotel group again. Top tip book directly with them to get best price and immediate affiliation to the Rewards program.

arrived at Majorca airport for transfer, 60 minute's later we set off for our hotel at Catalonia del mar cala bona. 2 hours later we arrived, the pool isn't what it is in the photos, the food is a disgrace, went half board, everyone had the same problem with the food, had to go out for tea every night, all the sunbeds were taking from 7am, there is building work going one facing the hotel, no way is this a 4* more like a 2* the rooms are so dated that the paint is coming off, air conditioning unit not very good, very quiet area, 15 minutes walk to next town and beach. I'm not the type of person to put bad reviews but this one had to be done I have loads of photos about this but it's not letting me put on

Hotel Catalonia Oporto. Atención en recepción inmejorable. Hacen todo lo posible para facilitarte la estancia, incluso más allá de sus obligaciones. Muy buena ubicación. Cama y almohadas fantásticas, aunque la habitación algo pequeña. Perfectamente insonorizada y limpia. Servicio de café y te gratis en la habitación.
Cómo pega no se repone el desayuno suficientemente por lo que si acudes a "última hora" aunque sea ,más de 30 minutos antes del cierre faltan muchos productos

We have booket the hotel room for 4 nights. We arrived from Denmark to the hotel at 10:00 o’clock today. We know that check-in was from 15:00 o’clock, so we Got our suitcases’s left at the hotel and went to the city. All was fine.
We arrived again at 14:45 to check inn. Many guest’s where waithing to check inn, so we went for at drink in the mean time. At 15:25 we went to get our room, but is is not ready😡 That is not okay.
