I ordered an expensive crucifix ($50+) and got a cheap piece of plastic stamped "made in china" ... the company is sending me through all sorts of hoops and is somehow associated with 3 different names & email domains. Necklaces with "gold" finish are rubbing off after only a few wears. I don't recommend wasting your money on anything from this site.

I would not order from this site again. What a complete disappointment and not selling Sterling Silver medal. The St. Christopher medal I bought for my son before he ships out for boot camp is junk. He has worn it for 2 weeks and it is flaking, the engraving is already looks like it melted (have pictures) and is not Sterling. Complete false advertising. You should be ashamed of yourselves for calling yourselves The Catholic store. Nothing catholic about that. I want a refund. I would give you zero stars if I could.

I placed an $80 order. They shipped it via a company called UniUni. The tracking shows that it was delivered, however, I was home and it was not left on my porch as reported. The shipping company has deflected my complaint. The Catholic Company expects the customer to pay for shipping as well as insurance. The Catholic Company sent the following response:
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are very sorry to hear about the trouble with your delivery. According to the carrier, the package was delivered on 12/21. We do offer Guardian Angel Package Protection on our orders, which is insurance for situations like this. This protection is automatically added to your cart at checkout, and it appears you opted out of the insurance.
We recommend checking with neighbors and following up with the carrier, as we do consider the transaction completed once delivery is confirmed. While it is possible the package was stolen, we are only able to replace packages that are covered by the insurance.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve you, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can assist further.
Delayed shipping/lack of communication

I ordered candles from them once a few months back, they were great. Smell is wonderful as so many people have stated. Ordered again a week before Christmas and no candles. I’ve tried emailing them, leaving my contact on their site, and calling them, but they do not communicate. So—I’m $100 out including shipping that obviously never happened either and stick with no information. BUYER BEWARE.

If I could give a minus review I would. They received 1 star because I had to put something. I received a damaged product and was told I can place an order and pay expedited shipping to receive by Christmas. I had to argue about it and they gave me a 10.00 code which the shipping was more and then said I can use my reward points. I placed the order again without a refund and now they are saying it won't get here until after Christmas. They are the worst company and I will never buy from them again. Absolute trash!

This experience has left me heartbroken. I don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed in a purchase—especially one that meant so much. The engraving on this Bible is, without exaggeration, the worst I have ever seen. I cannot believe The Catholic Company would allow something this poorly done to leave their facility, let alone put their name behind it.
I ordered this Bible with so much hope and joy. My son—after years away—told me he wants to return to the Church, start reading the Bible again, and one day raise his children Catholic. As a parent, hearing that was one of the greatest gifts I could have received. I wanted to honor that moment with something truly special and meaningful.
Instead, what arrived was an $80 Bible with engraving so sloppy, uneven, and careless that it felt like a punch in the stomach. I was expecting something beautiful, reverent, and worthy of the occasion. What I received looks rushed, cheap, and completely devoid of the dignity a sacred item deserves.
I am beyond disappointed. I am hurt. And I feel utterly let down by a company I trusted with something so important. This has taken what should have been a joyful and emotional milestone and overshadowed it with frustration and embarrassment.
I expected far better. I deserved far better. My son deserved far better.
I ordered over $244
I ordered over $244. worth of various items on September 9, 2025. After a month the tracking number still said "label created". I emailed and was told the package was "lost". They put another order together and it shipped out. UPS had the item in one location in US for over 10 days with no movement. I called UPS and they said the item was lost again and I needed to contact the seller so they can file a claim for the lost merchandise and shipping costs. I let them know this and I also let my credit card company know that the item I paid for over a month ago was never received. I though I was being very patient asking and waiting for these items, but at this point it had been over 6 weeks since my credit card was charged and I was starting to wonder if they "shipped" it again for a third time, how much longer it would take and if there would be yet another problem as to why I am not receiving it. I asked for a refund and received no response. That is when I notified my credit card company that the item was lost and I never received it. This is the response I received from Catholically Shop:

Decent Product with Spoonful of Scam
Disgruntled customer here, taking the time to write a review of The Catholic Company because of a recent poor experience. I needed a scapular medal and chose The Catholic Company on the recommendation of my mother. I needed the gift for a first communion that was on Saturday. I should have ordered sooner, but I did place the order the Monday before. I qualified for free shipping but knew that I needed the order in a hurry, so I paid $23.95 for 2-day shipping on a small product that cost $58. The item was shipped on Tuesday but did not arrive until the following Monday, after the First Communion and well outside of the two-day range. I also paid $1.76 for what the company calls "Guardian Angel Protection." Yes, I should have read the fine print and you should too. I assumed this was a little extra security to make sure the product arrived on-time. My mistake- the company charges $1.76 for all products or shipments (I'm not sure which) simply to make sure your product isn't damaged in transit. I don't know about you, but I'm not in the habit of paying anything for products that don't get to me in good condition.
I called the company to ask if they'd refund my excess shipping charges (I did not ask for all my money back) considering the item did not arrive on-time. They told me that the website said that the item usually ships in 3-5 business days. They're right. I noticed this when I placed the order but assumed this was for standard (free) shipping. The company was happy to charge me the extra $23.95 + $1.76 for two-day shipping, and I really didn't need the item in 2 days anyway... I needed it by Saturday.
So, I guess you could say this is partially my fault, and normally I'd leave well-enough alone, but I can't help but feel I got taken by a company that had no intention or ability to get me a product on-time. I came very close to paying almost $50 for one-day shipping just to make sure the medal arrived on-time. I'm grateful I only got taken for half that... I have no doubt the gift still would still have arrived late and they would still have (politely) told me I was an idiot for assuming anything else was going to happen.
It is my hope that you might avoid the same experience. I know there aren't a lot of companies that sell quality Catholic items, but there are others. I could have purchased from Amazon, but I didn't entirely trust the quality of the merchandise. I wish now I'd simply used Amazon. They would have gotten the gift here on-time and they would have accepted a return, no questions asked, if something had gone wrong.
That said, if your inbox is feeling a little empty and you're still trying to find a company willing to email you every day to hock their products, look no further. The Catholic Company often sends me not one but TWO emails a day (Save $45 On This Bestselling Rosary!).
Inaccurate website information and poor…
Inaccurate website information and poor customer service. First, the item I purchased was on their website as 14K gold, but when I received the item it wasn't stamped 14K and when I called the response I got was "it's from a third party" and they couldn't give me a straight answer. Second, I paid for 2 day shipping... well, after two days when the order didn't ship I called and was told its a third party and was their fault so I attempted to cancel the order. The representative told me they would cancel it with the third party and call me back, but she never did (Christy). That night a shipping label was created and was never cancelled... To add insult to injury I had paid $42 for 2 day shipping, but the item was sent USPS ground and received a week late.. I again called and requested a refund of the shipping charges and was told it would be refunded. Well, two weeks later when I never received I had to call back and still haven't received it. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THE CATHOLIC COMPANY AGAIN AND I RECCOMEND THAT YOU DON'T EITHER.

Rip Off and Ugly Products
I lost $24.00 on a necklace that had a pretty medal but a hideous chain and needed to be returned. Without any explanation, they only gave me a partial refund, and shipping has to be paid for by the customer on returns. $24.00 on nothing.
*Update* They did respond so me (see their comment below) only to state that I would only get a partial refund because they had to cover their own shipping costs. It costed me $14 to send it back, so I covered theirs and my own. It seems that because it's a Catholic company and Catholics order from them, they demand our charity. I don't like when charity is demanded of me, especially regarding a purchase. It should be just and fair, at the very least. I will never purchase from this company again.

Very disappointed in their shipping procedures
I purchased a thurible stand on July 15. I received nothing for 2 weeks. Called July 29, spoke to a man with a strong accent, much clicking and reverberating echo (I suspect the call relayed to a different country?). As someone else noted, you are going through an intermediary (Trinity Road). The rep was extremely difficult to understand with the call switch noises and echoes, but as best I could understand him, he told me it would be sent very shortly, and I should get an email notifying me, when it was sent. Nothing came all week, so I emailed on Aug 2. Received an email response August 5, saying it was already delivered by Fed Ex, and if there are problems, contact them. Fed Ex told me someone had signed for it, but I was now past their 7 day mark, and the sender would need to initiate an investigation. I notified Catholic Company, who said that if I had had the tracking info or a notification of shipment, it would not have mattered. I disagreed. They told me notifications were not given on shipments direct from the warehouse. Was I supposed to have known this? The item ultimately was located. But I went through a LOT of hassle, because a VERY expensive item came without any notice. I cannot recommend them.

Like others - Save your money & time
Like others, disappointed in both quality and customer service of this Catholic company. Like others, promo codes were not applied. The site shows no record of my only order, so I can’t review, return, or even view my history.
I received my order today. The books I bought, well, I could have saved 25%-30% using other sources (and would have been delivered weeks sooner than this). The bracelet I bought looked nothing like the one advertised.
I followed the steps to start a return, and have yet to hear from this company (although I have mere days to send it back in time). I’ve emailed photos and have called their customer service phone number - no answer/reply after almost 12 hours.
Do not bother with this overpriced and overrated online store.

Disappointed in a “Catholic” company.
Item ordered was of very poor/cheap quality. Certainly misrepresented on the items page.
Shipping was $7 and when I went to return it they informed me that I would also be required to pay for return shipping. Essentially making my net refund 50% back from the original cost.
Update: They challenged my review here on TrustPilot, requesting that I provide them with my contact information or else (according to TrustPilot) they may be able to have this review removed.

Rip Off
I ordered from Catholic Company and included a promo code. When I received my emailed receipt, the percentage off from code was not subtracted. When I requested a credit, I was told the company cannot issue credit card credits. That's ridiculous. This is not the first time this happened. Do not recomend
