We recently stayed at Blossom Barn 23, booked through Celebration Cottages, for a group getaway. Overall, we had a fantastic weekend, and there were so many positives, but there are also a few areas that, if improved, would easily make this a five-star experience.

Firstly, a huge thank you to Lauren, who was our private chef. She was absolutely outstanding. The evening meal was delicious, the afternoon tea was incredible, and she genuinely went above and beyond throughout our stay. When we realised there was no kitchen roll, tea towels and a few other essentials provided, she very kindly went out and bought them for us herself, despite it not being her responsibility. Her kindness and willingness to help really stood out and made a big difference to our weekend.

The massage treatments were also excellent. Heidi and Sue were both lovely, professional and efficient, making sure everyone in our group was looked after. We'd highly recommend both experiences.

The Celebration Cottages team were generally good to deal with, although I did find the booking process could have been a little more accommodating. As the lead booker, I didn't have access to a laptop, and there was quite a lot of paperwork that had to be completed online. I ended up having to use public computers to fill everything in. Given the amount we were spending, I felt it would have been a nice touch if I could have provided the information and had the forms completed on my behalf, but they weren't able to do this.

There were also a few practical issues with the property itself. The main bathroom was out of use during our stay, reducing the house from three bathrooms to two for 13 guests. To be fair, we were informed before arrival and received compensation, which we appreciated. However, with one bathroom unavailable, a few more essentials would have been helpful, as there wasn't enough toilet roll provided for a group of our size over the weekend.

Similarly, there was no kitchen roll or tea towels in the property. While we knew we needed to bring some supplies, these weren't items we expected to provide ourselves, and it wasn't something that stood out in the pre-arrival information. It became inconvenient, particularly when our chef needed them while cooking.

The property itself is beginning to show signs of wear and tear. There were flashing lights outside near the hot tub, a damaged blind in one of the bedrooms and some rotten wood around the windows. None of these things ruined our stay, but they were noticeable and made the property feel like it could do with a little TLC.

Cleanliness was another area that could be improved. There were reed diffusers throughout the house that felt quite overpowering, and after walking barefoot for only a short time, our feet became sticky and dirty, suggesting the floors would benefit from a much deeper clean.

The kitchen could also do with some attention. The fridge felt far too small for a property that sleeps up to 14 people, and it didn't seem to keep food and drinks properly cold, even when set correctly. We were putting already chilled items into it, but they took a long time to cool down, so a larger, more effective fridge would make a big difference.

One final observation was that there were quite a lot of wasps and flies around the hot tub area. We appreciate that's largely outside anyone's control, but perhaps providing citronella candles or another form of insect deterrent would be a thoughtful addition for guests. We were also expecting someone to come and open and close the hot tub, as this was mentioned in the booking information, but nobody attended during our stay.

Despite these points, we genuinely had a wonderful weekend. The property is in a lovely setting, the additional experiences arranged through Celebration Cottages were fantastic, and the issues we encountered were mostly things that could be resolved relatively easily. With a little more attention to maintenance, cleanliness, communication and the provision of everyday essentials, this would very comfortably be a five-star experience.

We booked through Celebration Cottages for a hen party at Horncastle Estate and Spa and had a brilliant weekend! Communication was excellent between the company and also the woman who owns the property, extremely helpful and the house was stunning. Exactly what we wanted and would reccomend Horncastle to anybody looking for a stay, you won’t be disappointed 😊

We booked celebration cottage for a large hen do party of 23 people. From initial enquiries all the way up to the weekend of the event the team were fantastic. They respond quickly to any enquiries and ensured a very smooth and stress free booking. The wellness retreat in Huddersfield is a STUNNING house and the chef dinner was restaurant level. Amazing weekend will deffo book again in the future!

Celebration Cottages were great throughout the whole process. They were easily contactable as you could email or call them and they always got right back to you. Every person who I interacted with via email or over the phone were very lovely and helpful.

We stayed at Romano House and it was AMAZING. It was the perfect location and had everything we needed and more. The photos don’t do the house justice because it was even more stunning in person. Julie was super helpful, friendly and responsive! The house was so clean, well maintained and an absolute joy to stay at. Highly recommend this house via Celebration Cottages for a hen do weekend.

We went to the bowlands retreat for a hen party and it was amazing, we had the chef and a 3 course meal for when we arrived and the food was gorgeous, tasted amazing. The chef was polite, friendly and communicated well. Would definitely recommend. We also had afternoon tea and a cocktail making class - both ladies again friendly, communicated well, food was amazing and the cocktail class was so much fun. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Only down fall is that we had to be out for 10am the Sunday - could have done with a 12 check out. Then cleaning side- lots of cobwebs in bedrooms/kitchen.

Apart from the cleaning side I would go again and recommend to people.

Just come back from a wonderful family break at bowland party retreat. What amazing place to stay, so much to do,we had an age range of 9 to 74,and everyone had a great time. Amanda was a wonderful host, and always there if she was needed. Would definitely stay again,didn't want to come home. The Johnstone Family

The best few nights away for my bestie's hen. We stayed at the Luxe Wellness Retreat and it was absolutely perfect. Every single tiny thing had been thought of. Afternoon tea, the spa treatments, were both incredible. But my biggest shout out goes to Paul, our private chef, for one the best meals we've ever had.

Celebration Cottages kept in touch and took the worry out of the organising.

Would recommend over and over again.

We have just come back from a fab stay at The White House for my Hen Do✨ the property was incredible! we were all amazed at how gorgeous it was in person- pictures do not do it justice!!! We all said we would love to of stayed longer! We also had the chefs 3 course meal book as one of our activities, the dishes were outstanding and made the whole vibe very special♥️ this will be a weekend we will remember forever so THANK YOU!!

The House was the perfect party place!
Great vibe, very well set out and provided everything you need. Very clean and well organised. We had the cocktail and pizza package. Alex was amazing and got the party going! Pizzas were great! would definitely recommend!

Absolutely brilliant to deal with. Everything ran so smoothly and all the staff are so helpful and professional

Had a great weekend stay at Oaklands spa retreat in holmfirth, would have been 5 stars but there were a few little niggles along the way but didn't affect our enjoyment too much.
Make sure to read all the hidden parts of the website including the drop down sections, on night one we were very surprised when a man appeared at the hot tub we were in at 9.45pm he explained he has come to lock it up but did agree (as we were aware that we were able to use it until 10pm) he was a lovely guy think we threw him a bit because we weren't expecting him when the bride to be shouted did you order a stripper 🤣. Anyway hot tub was locked at 10pm and then cleaned and opened in the morning so just be aware you may have visitors.
The spa treatments were enjoyed by all, two lovely ladies came and set up in the living room and got through the group quite efficiently.
We had a wonder into holmfirth which was lovely and lots of nice bars and shops available, thankfully we headed back early as the chef arrived at 4pm instead of 6pm as we thought but again this all worked out fine in the end as we were back at the house.
The meal was absolutely gorgeous and everyone was blown over by the food Lorna made. I hope she grows in confidence because we had a great time and all really enjoyed the meal but she was so nervous and had no need to be.
A lot of the drawers in the fridge were damaged before we arrived which made us nervous about breaking them further or being accused of damaging them but all in all we had a great stay.
The only other slight niggle was that other than the dining table there wasn't really any rooms including outdoors that the whole group of 10 could sit together without people being on the floor but again we managed with this just wanted to be honest for people looking to book.

Had a great weekend, very easy to book with added extras (chef). Great communication and everything as described. Perfect for a girly weekend, thank you!

Great venue, facilities and location & comfy beds we had a fab time! Plenty of space for us all (22)
Only downside was could of done with a couple more bathrooms and definitely need to sort the very tiny outside space there’s two areas outdoors that are not used to their potential and did look like the one area had been used as a dumping ground however this is an easy fix but does not take away the charm of this celebration house.

Also think their early/late check-ins are very expensive!! The later checkout should be later as standard due to the amount of ppl this property holds to try get everyone showed and house cleaned it’s an early start! Not what you want when you’ve paid so much for 2 nights to only actually get 1.5 days instead of 3 days.

I found celebration cottages to be very helpful on booking and sorting a few issues ,customer care is very good, however I do feel blossom barn visually when you first walk in , it blows you away , but it needs some TLC unfortunately the master bathroom was out of use from a previous party flooding it , that wasn’t an issue and we were kindly offered compensation for that!

However the negatives … the oven had broken almost burning me , and then ruining our meal by the chef one night , the chefs meal was nothing more than shop bought food , very basic and very undercooked , no warmth from the chef either :/ !!!

The house lacks cups , and some basic cutlery we could have done with more of !

House wasn’t the cleanest , there was a very high volume of moths - even in the fridge everywhere you went there would be multiple , and there wasps , honestly there must be a nest near by , I know that cannot be helped , but there needs to be something put in to place and people with allergy’s be aware !

Over all the venue was a little let down !

BUT I’ll end on the positives ….

We had the live singer Alexandra - amazing perfect vibe brilliant voice & we had the best time with her !!!

We had mason for the cocktail making class - genuinely both Alexandra and him genuinely made our night so special ! They made the brides evening a night to remember and even stayed over the time !!!!

So all in all , if the property gets a little TLC & a deep clean it’s very worth all the pennies you spend bar the things noted !

I couldn’t recommend celebration cottages more for girls looking for an easy stress free hen party booking.

After sending the first enquiry I received a super quick response with options of properties to book, and was always provided with helpful and fast answers to any questions that came up during the process.

I spoke to or received emails from several members of the team including Molly and Jake from the booking team and Olivia and Emma in the admin team. All were so helpful and kind I couldn’t have asked for a better team to help me put together the perfect weekend!

The activity packages on offer cater to every possible requirement and booking through celebration cottages meant I didn’t have to source anything extra myself making it all even easier.

The property itself was gorgeous, perfectly set up for a hen party with every small details accounted for, including the most helpful welcome guide that was very thoughtful.

A huge thanks to the team for all your hard work, I will 100% be coming back to you for any future bookings!

I booked Blossom barn cottage near Woolley Leeds for my daughters hen party. We paid £195 for a few nights midweek with a private chef and a pamper package.
Firstly, the property was beautiful, the blossom tree in the main living area was such a talking point and we couldn't stop looking at it. The house was completely private with a lovely well-kept garden which suited our party games. There's also a hot tub although it was a little too hot for us to use, we ended up spending most of the time in the home cinema suite.
We had the private chef, Tim on the first night and the food was delicious. 5 star service all round.
On the Wednesday we had the 60 minute treatments (I booked two!) and the ladies who did these were so lovely.
I would definitely come back, great value for money and my daughter has had the most special time that will live long in the memory.

We have just stayed at the Romanos House in Rossendale for my sisters hen party. The property was absolutely perfect, so beautifully decorated and the facilities are amazing. A special thank you to the owner for going above and beyond for us during the visit. I would highly recommend for girls trip.

A group of 10 of us booked Boho Retreat for our friend's hen weekend. Having admired Celebration Cottages for years, we were excited to finally book one of their properties. As this was advertised as a newly renovated addition to their collection, we trusted their reputation despite the limited photos. We paid over £4,000 for two nights, expecting a premium experience.

Unfortunately, almost every aspect of the weekend fell well below expectations.

The property was nothing like we anticipated. The exterior was an old, run-down house, the interior had unpleasant odours, and the overall cleanliness was poor. The advertised "karaoke room" was simply two microphones connected to YouTube in the living room. The dining table was basic garden furniture, and there wasn't enough seating in either the lounge or kitchen for 10 guests.

The included experiences were equally disappointing. The "private chef" meal was of an extremely poor standard and nowhere near the quality you would expect from a professional chef. The cocktail-making class offered no consultation beforehand, no choice of cocktails, and the host openly told us we were on the cheapest package. Much of the alcohol was cheap, unbranded spirits, and several cocktails weren't even enjoyed by the group.

The massage experience was completely unacceptable. The property had no suitable treatment room, so massages took place in the living room, with guests expected to undress without proper privacy. Only one therapist was provided for 10 people, resulting in an exhausting schedule that should never have been arranged.

The professional photoshoot was equally disorganised. The photographer had been sent photos of an entirely different property and arrived expecting a wedding shoot rather than a hen party. He had no plan for the session, leaving us to direct the shoot ourselves. More than a month later, we still haven’t received the photographs.

Following our stay, Celebration Cottages admitted that their website was misleading but refused to offer any meaningful refund or compensation.

For a company charging premium prices, the accommodation, experiences and customer service were nowhere near the standard advertised. I would not book with Celebration Cottages again and cannot recommend them.
