La mia esperienza con Centauro a Lisbona è stata deludente.
La receptionist non è stata molto gentile, anche dopo averle chiesto di parlare più lentamente in inglese.
L'auto era buona, ma i sensori non funzionavano e non mi è stata consegnata con il pieno.
Al mio ritorno, avevo ancora benzina e ne ho aggiunta 40 euro, ma poichè non era pieno il serbatoio (io non l'ho ricevuta col pieno), mi hanno comunque addebitato 110 euro per un pieno. È impossibile, visto che avevo già più di mezzo serbatoio.
Sono rimasto molto deluso da questa situazione: ho trovato la procedura ingiusta e scorretta.

Centauro scam vehicle hire - Corfu
AVOID, AVOID AVOID Centauro!!!! You have been warned.
There is a very efficient and inexpensive car hire company in the Canary Islands called Cicar. This company (Centauro) is the dodgy Greek equivalent of that company.
I write reviews for amazing service and I write reviews for the worst service to assist others in making informed choices. This review is the latter type.
We had booked the car through Booking.com (another company that will receive zero stars for choosing to align themselves with these sharks) and paid for the fully comprehensive option.
We should have realised something was wrong when, on collecting the car, we heard a party of German tourists arguing about why they had to pay twice and that they'd never had to do that before. Basically this company claims that you have only paid for a worthless 3rd party insurance through Booking.com and then proceed to give you the hard sell on why you need to take out an exorbitant policy through them including wanting to put a €1200 blocking charge on your card for potential damage. There is of course no mention of this when you make the booking. There are examples of people (see other reviews) who were charged for scratches because they had the temerity to not pay the additional insurance charge.
This is the oldest trick in the book for vehicle insurance and is regularly practiced by the most disreputable and underhand of hire companies. Sadly it's been such a long time since I was conned with this trick, that I did not expect to be caught by it in the EU and on a major destination like Corfu.
In addition to the underhand insurance trick, the collection from the airport was 20 minutes late (you get driven by bus to their offices) - most car hires from Corfu are collected at the airport. The petrol tank was about 40% full. They said it was 100% full and we had to return to the offices to get this corrected, wasting another 20 minutes.
The screenwash was completely dry and the interior of the windscreen had a milky greasy film on it.
Do not fall for what looks like a low rate when hiring from Centauro and if you don't know about this scam, be aware of it because there are other companies out there that will try it on. Having an unpleasant vehicle hire experience puts an immediate dampener right at the start of your holiday.
If you want to spare yourself this experience, AVOID, AVOID AVOID Centauro!!!! You have been warned.

Mio figlio ha prenotato un auto con centauro in Spagna Alicante Areoporo con la garanzia completa e senza necessità di carta di credito essendo un ragazzo, all’aeroporto volevano la carta di credito oppure gli avrebbero dato una macchina non premium con un costo aggiuntivo di 170 euro in quanto la consideravano una nuova prenotazione quindi siamo stati costretti ad annullare il contratto e cercare una altra auto con l’ansia di non trovarla incredibile 😦

The return was easy,simple check, no additional cost or charge. PS. Already booked with them in Rome Ciampino, Rome Fiumincino and Pisa. Same friendly staff everywhere. We used Centauro rent at car with pick up and return at Pisa airport. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Documents could be sent before pick up so when we arrived we just picked up the keys. It was the quickest and smoothest rent a car we’ve used and there was no queue. Car was almost new SUV, it was perfect, Shuttle to and from airport was quick and easy as was drop off.

Ho noleggiato un’auto con Centauro per una vacanza in Andalusia.
Ritiro e riconsegna rapidi, auto nuova e ben tenuta: tutto semplice ed efficiente.
Tuttavia, a causa di un’incomprensione con il sito comparatore usato per la prenotazione, mi sono ritrovato addebitate spese extra.
Ho aperto due ticket tramite il sito Centauro per chiedere chiarimenti, ma non ho mai ricevuto risposta.
Inoltre, la politica del "pieno-pieno" è risultata poco chiara: l’auto mi è stata consegnata con il serbatoio solo all’80%.
La cauzione per il carburante è stata comunque restituita senza problemi.
Nel complesso, buon servizio sul campo, ma poca trasparenza e totale assenza di supporto clienti.
Consiglio di chiarire bene le condizioni al momento della prenotazione e, se possibile, evitare gli intermediari.

Mi hanno obbligato a comprare tutte le polizze ,pagato in anticipo IL NOLEGGIO di un utilitaria per 8 ORE su ryanair 9,00 euro, al ritiro dell'auto pagati 49,00 euro con polizze non obbligatorie per legge ma obbligatorie per Centauro di Cagliari. Come fregare il cliente.

Molto soddisfatto di Centauro (Cagliari Elmas)
Sono rimasto molto soddisfatto di Centauro (sede di Cagliari Elmas). Questo servizio di noleggio auto NON ha la propria sede nel terminal dell'aeroporto ma bisogna aspettare la loro navetta nell'area partenze al primo piano. La navetta è arrivata in meno di 10 minuti e in circa 5 minuti si arriva alla sede dove poi consegnano la macchina. Io avevo già caricato tutti i documenti online quindi ho fatto tutto in meno di dieci minuti. Ho pagato il noleggio su internet aggiungendo la formula senza franchigia. All'arrivo mi hanno solo temporaneamente addebitato il costo della benzina (52 euro che mi hanno restituito dopo aver controllato che il serbatoio era allo stesso livello una volta riconsegnata). Nessun problema con la macchina, sono molto contento di aver guidato una Fiat Pandina. Super consigliato, tutto il personale della sede di Cagliari Elmas è stato molto cortese e disponibile.

I recently rented a Mini Countryman at Centrauro in Bologna airport.
Unlike many other rental companies where you book e.g. a "BMW 1-series or similar" and get a crappy jeep, Centauro delivered exactly the requested car! Nice!
The rental place was a bit difficult to find, as it is located a few km's from the airport and you need to walk a while to find the place where the shuttle bus picks you up and drives you to the rental company. That's a bit of a nuisance. And if it wasn't for the IMPECCABLE service I got when I returned the car, I would probably had given a star less due to the inconvenience of finding the rental place.
But the service I got when returning the car was fantastic. We had arrived early in the airport to drop of some of the family members to check-in. Then we experienced a complete traffic jam in the airport roundabout. We ended up spending more than 1.5 hour there. We called the Centauro to say that we would be late with the car and to request an expedient return. When I got there it took two minutes to drop the car off and they even called back the shuttle bus that had just left. Because of their expedient approach I managed to catch the flight home!

Avoid Centauro: Run-down cars, Poor Service, and Hidden Fees
We had a car accident where a drunk driver hit us from behind at a pedestrian crossing and tried to flee the scene. I had to take his keys, and we called the police. A report was filed, but all our attempts to contact Centauro were unsuccessful.
Fortunately, the damage to the car was minor, and we were able to continue driving. Eventually, we managed to reach Centauro, but they offered no help at all. They simply told us to get the police report and bring it when returning the car.
Since Centauro opens only in the morning, we had to return the car a day earlier. They tried to complicate the process and even attempted to charge us for damages that were not our fault. They gave us a very old car with over 100,000 km on it, the engine was weak, and the car was full of dents. Luckily, we took photos of the entire car when we picked it up, which helped us dispute most of the pre-existing damages.
Initially, they charged us 900 euros for the damages. However, after we protested and demanded a report for our insurance company (RentalCover), the amount suddenly dropped to just over 300 euros.
Conclusion:
- The cars are old and damaged.
- Customer service is unresponsive.
- Issues with returning the vehicle due to inconvenient operating hours and location.
- The company obstructs proper handling of insurance claims.
- They try to charge you for damages you didn’t cause and assess them at unreasonably high prices. It seems like they don’t maintain or repair their cars, and instead charge each customer for the same existing damages, or on the same car parts.
I do not recommend this company. Be prepared for potential problems and make sure to document all damages when you pick up the car.
P.S:
Additionally, I do not recommend RentalCover either. Based on my experience, they significantly delay the claims process and fail to offer timely support, leaving customers to deal with unnecessary financial burdens.

è piu di un mese che ho aperto ticket per riavere caparra come descritto nel messaggio precedente e non ho ricevuto nessuna risposta. servizio clienti totalmente assente! riassumendo ho ricevuto auto ad Atene con interni sporchi e quando ho restituito auto mi hanno addebitato costi pulizia interni! 75 euro derubati.
TRUFFA DICHIARATA
Abbiamo consegnato l'auto noleggiata a Valencia dopo averla ritirata ad Alicante: la scortese receptionist ha constatato un graffietto sotto la targa che non avevo assolutamente notato, NEMMENO FATTO NOI ed in tempo zero ha trattenuto dalla carta 270 euro senza possibilità di discuterne (l'auto l'abbiamo tenuta due ore e prima di partire l'avevo fotografata su ogni lato per sicurezza, senza immaginare di guardare anche sotto!!, ma anche perchè il posteggio da dove si ritira l'auto non è nemmeno ben illuminato!). Stranamente lei l'ha trovato subito!. Hanno trattenuto dalla carta anche 1100 euro per quasi 20 giorni, senza fornire spiegazioni. DIFFIDATE!!!!!!
