It was a pleasure working with Mike Wells from your CHIP team. Mike was very helpful in assisting me with understanding a reverse mortgage to relieve the unfounded comments that I had heard about these mortgages - he was patient, calming and very professional. Once I was told what documents they would require for the approval process, I immediately copied and scanned those documents - from that time forward the process went quickly and smoothly. Thank you Mike and team for assisting me with this next chapter in my life.

She kept me informed every step of the way and made the process of obtaining the loan much easier than I thought possible .
Her proactive comments to help me prepare all the documents I would need to provide to CHIP and my lawyer so I was ready for whatever came up and that made things go so much smoother than I thought possible, given what I had heard from others about their experience with reverse mortgages.

So it started off in March and through no fault of her involvement, rather several sick lawyers at the law firm I was using that delayed things along the way. It all came to a very satisfying and completed process on April 16th!

Cancelled my application due to an "incomplete" appraisal. Refused to provide the appraisal report and refused to refund the appraisal fee

Mike Wells was amazing. We needed funds to help Joey, our little puppy. Mike was compassionate and understanding and therefore, was able to deal with my consistent barrage of emails.

The process was easy and Mike explained everything to us. The only downside was the length of time to receive the funds which took almost 4 months. ( The long wait was caused by the Alberta Government being so far behind with land titles as the home was purchased the same week we applied for CHIP)

If you are interested In getting an equity loan then ask for Mike! He was honest with us and gave sound advice which worked in our favour and truly believe he wants what is best for the client. I can’t believe he managed to stay professional and willing to help us as I was surely annoying asking the same questions multiple times over the 4 months and the panic driven emails full of reasons why the wait time was affecting our dog and many other personal issues that were probably not necessary to share! He took it in stride, as he couldn’t change how far behind the government was, but always stayed in constant contact with regular check-ins.

Working with Agnes Letkeman was wonderful.She was well versed about the bank,reversed mortgages and was available when I needed to ask questions.I was impressed with how quickly the process went through.Now I can enjoy my home and take some things off my bucket list!!!

Very disappointed about your company about the shortfall withdrawal of $10,000.00 in change . They withdrew twice and it seems that nobody cares about my calls and email after you guys got the business. Its has been 10 days and until now the money is not deposited yet. That amount is supposed to go on my investment but unfortunately I have to hold off because your error. Pls. Have someone call me ASAP, otherwise I’ll will make a complaint. Thanks in advance

Initially it was a great experience. During the process I broke my ankle and was unable to attend at my lawyers for signatures. The lawyer agreed to make a house visit but due to his schedule could not for a week. This seemed to annoy the Home Equities representative. Needs to employ more empathy and consideration.

Wow, what an utterly painless experience. We began working with CHIP on our reverse mortgage two weeks ago and the funds were in our bank last night.

We found every one we dealt with to be professional and courteous no matter the question. Everything was explained thoroughly.

We would not hesitate to refer CHIP to our family and friends, and actually even strangers we meet.

Agnes called and told me what the Home Equity bank could provide when I started exploring the possibility of a CHIP reverse mortgage loan. She pointed out the uncertainty of a mortgage loan and how CHIP was more secure. She gave me facts and figures about the equity remaining in my house under three scenarios (after paying off the mortgage) and possibilities of loan repayment, though not required. She gradually and professionally lead me through the process and I decided, without pressure, that CHIP was right for me.
