Mishandled, but resolved

I would use you guys again but the anxiety and headache and back and forth created a very hard experience in retrieving my belongings. Thankfully you hired great warehouse workers like Tyler. However, the customer service agents gave me useless updates and refused to help me resolve my issues. Even further customer service agents were hard to understand. There is a necessity for improvement on customer service, organization, delivery, care of content and communication.

They no-show and charge cancellation!

They no-showed and did not even bother to notify me they are not coming till I called them myself after the window they gave me expired. Waited for them for over 3 hours by storage place. ZERO compensation for it! They rescheduled me without even asking if the day works for me! Then I changed it few days in advance they had a nerve to change me $100 fee... TWICE!!! No warning before you click the reschedule button! Horrific customer service. They just blow you off and take no responsibility for anything! Oh, and they charged another $100 to cancel! Beware that their dimensions only allow 4 feet height. So even if your staff would fit fine in let's say 10 x 10 storage, they will charge you for more! Absolute crooks! I hope someone sues them out of existence!

LIKE I SAID IN THE PREVIOUS REVIEW PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY YOU WILL BE SORRY!! THEY HAVE NOT TRIED TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION. THAT RESPONSE THEY GAVE WAS A LIE IM STILL BEING CHARGED FOR STORAGE I DONT HAVE WITH THEM. TAKE MY ADVICE GO ELSEWHERE.

Not reliable. Won’t deal with stairs.

I made a reservation for clutter to pick up the contents of an apartment. The men arrived, realized that they had to deal with 7 steps and promptly complained to their dispatcher. They canceled my appointment.

Buyer Beware. Delivery is NOT FREE!

UPDATE: Clutter is still denying refund for $225 charges that their own representative put in writing to say I should NOT be charged! So while they say the charges are correct, they are not. This company is impossible to work with.

Very disappointed!! Buyer beware!! When I booked storage the website clearly stated free pick up and free delivery up to two hours. It says so on my account page as well. However, when I booked delivery it showed $200+ in charges. I reached out Clutter and after multiple calls/emails, the representative assured me there would be no charge if under 2 hours and if so, I can file a claim. Well there was a charge for $235. I filed a claim and as of yet...NO REFUND. They will not honor their own representative's email!! This is clearly Bait and Switch. Go to Manhattan Storage or Piece of Cake.

Highly suggest NEVER using Clutter.com

Highly suggest NEVER using Clutter.com. Horrible experience, quoted 6 hours of complimentary labor with our 10x20 storage along with a $50 bereavement credit for moving our deceased family members belongings. Received invoice for only 5 hours of labor, charged us for 6th hour and denied the bereavement credit. Then their CS Rep hung up on us when we asked to speak with their manager! They stonewalled us.

This was my first time for a horrible experience

This was my first time ever hiring a moving company, thinking it would make the process easier and less stressful. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the complete opposite.

Yesterday, while the movers were here, one of them accidentally dropped a mirror (belonging to my landlord, which I had specifically told them not to touch) and nearly broke it. The same mover also slightly dropped my large TV, bending it — I even had to step in to help him handle it more carefully.

Even though the movers themselves tried their best, they were set up to fail by the company. They arrived with zero proper materials, so the job turned into a complete mess. With one hour left on my time, they had to stop because they literally ran out of supplies.

Today was supposed to be the day they finished the job. I took the day off work and was assured by three different people that they would arrive before 3 pm — but no one ever showed up. Yesterday, I was promised two call backs about the issues, and I never received them. Today, I was promised another call back and was lied to for the third time.

The movers did the best they could with what little they had, but the company’s lack of organization, communication, and accountability is unacceptable. I had to pay an extra day’s rent because of their no-show. I will be filing a BBB complaint and a claim against this company, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

I rarely write DO NOT USE CLUTTER, They Will Damage Your Items, Waste Your Time, and Refuse to Take Responsibilityreviews

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Clutter was so bad that I feel obligated to warn others. This is not just about poor service, it is about a complete lack of care, professionalism, and accountability.

When my items were returned, many of them were damaged. The way they were packed and handled was careless at best, reckless at worst. I literally watched them toss boxes around with little care, and it was obvious that my belongings were not a priority. Even the movers themselves admitted they were under pressure, one was on the phone saying, “We aren’t even done taking the stuff out of the truck,” and another told his colleagues that “someone from above” called telling them they needed to move faster. How is rushing like that supposed to be safe for anyone’s possessions?

From the very beginning, things went wrong. When they first came to collect my items, the movers stopped for lunch before even arriving to my home. That delay meant they could not finish the job in one day, forcing me to take another day off from work to wait for them to return. Then, when they finally did get everything loaded, they packed so inefficiently that I was charged for two trucks, even though the first truck was not even full.

I later filed a claim for compensation for the damages. Clutter only compensated me for some of the items, claiming that other damages were not their fault because I had prepacked certain things, like my plates. The plates were intact and securely wrapped in moving paper when they picked them up, so there is no doubt in my mind the damage happened because of how they handled them. They simply refused to take responsibility.

And to top it all off, they left behind a mess at my home, lunch trash, packing debris, and moving blankets. I had to clean it all up myself.

This company feels like a scam. They waste your time, overcharge you, damage your property, and then find ways to avoid paying for it. I will never use Clutter again and I strongly recommend that no one trust them with their belongings.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. DONT USE CLUTTER. THEY LIE

Clutter was absolutely the WORST mistake we have ever made. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. BEYOND HORRIBLE.

First off we were lied to about how our items would be picked up and stored when I called to ask questions in May.

Start of June Clutter arrives to pick up my daughter’s items. Apparently they don’t just pick up your items but multiple pick ups that day. We did the pre check to make sure they had space for everything we needed. Move out day, they told my daughter they wouldn’t have room in their truck for all of her items. Apparently they don’t pick up before her had more than expected. They told my daughter that she had to choose 10-20 items not to go into storage. They told her that they couldn’t get another moving truck that day. After hours on the phone with customer support (located in India) and requesting multiple times for a manager we got zero answers other then they might be able to schedule another truck to get the rest of her things within a few weeks (her apartment lease ended the next day). We had to drive hours to her apartment to get the items Clutter didn’t pick up. They also broke an item. After 2 weeks still not a single response back from customer support.

Move in day in August. clutter literally LOST my daughters 6 foot dresser, the glass shelving of her 6 foot entertainment center (can’t be used at all without the shelving), and 4 boxes containing all of her decor, her grill and panini press, all of her kitchen items and all bathroom items. We called customer service again. Again call center in India. Person on the phone had screaming kids in the background. Zero help but assured me a manager would call me back within 48 hours. It’s been well past that time and no call. I also found out later that Clutter actually doesn’t have ANY managers and their customer support center is all outsourced to India. Nobody will help you at all. Nobody will email your or call you back. We did take out some insurance but only the $1000 package, but my daughter has lost well over $2500 worth of items we now need to replace. She’s beyond upset and crying because so many personal items are gone. She took the day off work to deal with them and now needs to take more time off. We have spent hours on the phone with them and no response or resolution. I’m wondering is they even thought to check if her items were shoved in with the items from the first pick up of the day. I can’t ask because I can’t get in touch with anyone there. My daughter is completely emotionally scarred from this experience. Clutter doesn’t care at all.

We asked when we could talk to a manager or expect to know about where her missing items are. They went from telling us a few hours, to a few days to “sometime at some point”

Clutter claims on their website they are BBB approved. Another LIE. BBB says they are not approved.

My daughter is still missing a large amount of her items, zero response from Clutter or management or updates.

Clutter has been the WORST experience we have ever had with any company. I have never written a bad review ever. This is a complete SHAM business that takes advantage of college students.

Please do not fall for the “we are investigating your case and will have someone from the Trust and Safety Team reach out to you”. This is a FLAT OUT LIE. There is no Trust and Safety team. We were told by someone there that they don’t even have managers. You can only reach them by filing a claim and can’t ever get in touch with a person EVER. It’s the same 2-3 people in India that can’t help you with anything. This is a SHAM business that takes they won’t even tell you where they are based out of.

Do yourself a favor and don’t use or trust Clutter. My stress and anxiety is through the roof and my child is devastated by the loss of her items. I don’t think we will ever see her things or get a refund. I don’t trust they will ever resolve the issue. Comments by them stating they can’t find people’s accounts and recommending them to reach out to the Trust and Safety team are WORTHLESS because there is NO WAY to get a person on the phone or to talk to someone on the Trust and safety team. We have been trying for months and only get lied to over and over again.

return of items terrible experience

the pick up and storage was fantastic! getting my items back? not a good time. the movers were slow, didn't listen to direction, and were a bit reticent to move bigger and heavier items to where I needed them to go. I will have to buy tarps to cover my items that are currently outside due to rain, and then I will have to hire separate movers to get the items into my house. the pick up was great, but I would have your movers unload instead of them.

Canceled Service

TERRIBLE service. They canceled our move in appointment randomly. At first, they tried to claim that we had canceled, but then they said they were cancelling. When they canceled, they had already confirmed the appointment. We are now scrambling to find a mover. What a waste of time.

Awful customer service, unable to answer anything

Simply tried to book a move with them. Scheduled a call back on the website to get some clarification, as their local reviews are quite abysmal. The person called me on time, from an offshore location, and then proceeded to try and sell me on a 6 month storage plan. They had a terribly hard time grasping that I was simply wanting to pack, move, and unpack from one apartment to the next. In the end, I was told that the person on the phone could only discuss storage services. A complete waste of time and energy, and glad I learned how bad things have become at Clutter before spending anymore time (or hard earned money) with their sham business.

Super great experience
