Signed up and charged for an additional subscription I did not want
I had a horrible experience with Cometeer's email and subscription system. When I purchased the World Cup pack, I was signed up for an additional new subscription in error. I did not receive advance emails saying that subscription order was about to be sent, and I checked spam.
I asked support to cancel both my normal order and the unwanted extra order. Instead, I was told the mistaken subscription order was not cancelled, and I was charged for coffee I never meant to subscribe to, was never alerted about, and never got to choose.
The product may be interesting, but this support experience was bad enough that I would warn people to be very careful before ordering.
I am a massive fan of the product AND the customer service.
I have been subscribed for 3 or 4 months and I absolutely love the product. It started as more of an on the go option, or a second cup later in the day at the office option; but now I use it daily. It’s unbelievably easy to make a fantastic cup of coffee in like 30 seconds. The app is also easy to use and I really look forward to picking out different coffees to try for my next order. I’ve also had a great experience the one time I had to reach out to customer service. I just pray they never go out of business because I truly believe I will be a lifetime customer. I know it’s not cheap at around $2 per cup, but I could easily spend $5+ a cup at several cafes and may never find a cup of coffee I enjoy more than my $2 Cometeer cups. I know people don’t like subscriptions, but they make it super easy to pause, delay, or cancel the subscription. I am just so glad I gave it a try.

The coffee is excellent. My wife and I both enjoyed it very much. That said, the pricing is too much for us to justify continuing with the service. Much more affordable than Starbucks or other coffee shops. But I make mine from home so for me, the ROI just isn’t there. A great company and product just not for me.
Amazing Coffee, Atrocious Service
Amazing coffee but...customer service is just terrible. Totally MIA. I've been trying to get someone, anyone to answer my emails for over a week now. So much for "1 to 3 business days." Sigh. For $3.50+ per cup of coffee, you'd expect actual service. I received a promotion from them saying "hey order sooner and we will throw in this extra box of coffee." Not only did they forget to throw in the box of coffee, but they also screwed up the rest of the invoice too. There's actually more that went wrong, but I've spent too much time already. I wonder if they're going out of business? Why else would they go totally radio silent. What a mess. ☹️

I ordered a trial box and the company signed me up for a subscription. This wasn't a checkbox I missed, I was very careful to make sure I wasn't signing up for anything. COMPLETE SCAM.

Best coffee tasting, easiest latte-making experience. A few years ago, I realized that I was in a fog for about 2 hours after my Nespresso. Did some Reddit-ing and learned about coffee pod mold and neurotoxicity (ps: Nespresso only makes 1 organic pod out of, like, ~36). I decided that my coffee purchases would only support people who source and process responsibly. Learned about Cometeer from Not Boring; was drawn to their mold mitigation and smallholder farmer relationships. I travel with a bunch of these in my bag. I've been a subscriber since 2022 and have made adjustments to my subscriptions without any issues. Thank you, Cometeer, and shout out to Packy McCormick/Not Boring for sharing a clean coffee solution!
I see I am not the only one
I see I am not the only one. Received an email from a friend to “try” their coffee. It states just pay shipping and you will get our discovery kit. However, follow the premise of that offer and it will default you into an auto $90.00ish subscription. You have manually opt out of the default to just try the coffee as presented in the email. The coffee maybe good, but they are not a good business/company.

Take note of the subscription
UPDATED: A friend sent me an opportunity to get a sample box for the cost of shipping. Coffee was delicious, however I just got a notice that I’ve been charged $95! For a subscription. I didn’t get any notifications. There was not any communication asking what I would like to subscribe to (light coffees, dark coffees, regions etc.) and no heads up that the subscription was starting. Just an email saying my order was confirmed. Not even on the level about what I had ordered or paid. Had to click on the link to find that out.
The coffee is delicious and is perfect for that afternoon cup. But just be aware of the subscription if you're doing the sampler pack.

Highly duplicitous subscription practices that are designed to entrap customers. Avoid using this company and especially avoid signing up through any special offers/promos. Horrendous customer service that takes days to answer and then just responds with quotes from their FAQs rather than trying to resolve your issues.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Can only contact through email which can take days and then the responses are incredibly unhelpful. Just responded with answers from website when I obviously needed more help than the FAQ.

Terrible customer service
I ordered a Discovery Box, and the package got lost in the mail. Which is ok, things happen. There is no way to contact customer support other than through email, which takes 1-3 business days to get a single reply. Support agent kept sharing the tracking link (that hasn't had any updates since the coffee was shipped 10 days ago), and refused issuing a refund. I even contacted the shipping company's customer support, and they confirmed the package was lost, but I still haven't gotten my refund.

Bad customer service
They messed up two things with two different orders. NOT quick to respond. And not helpful. The coffee is pretty good, although expensive. But the bad customer service makes me never want to place another order from this company. They have got to get it together.

Good product, horrible subscription and zero customer service
They offer lots of free or discounted coffee to get you in the door but then the subscriptions come quickly and are confusing and expensive. There doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to how much they send you - our family loved the coffee and had three subscriptions and each one was different. The most expensive was $170. Once the subscription date comes you can’t change or cancel it. It’s not always clear you are even signed up for a subscription. Read the fine print. Buyer beware! Too bad because we would have kept the subscription going but didn’t feel we could trust them.

Despite this, Cometeer processed an unexpected $89 order almost immediately. Their website falsely presents the ability to “pause, cancel, or customize anytime,” but the reality is different—no clear indication of a ship date or charge appeared when I set my preferences.
Canceling is a hassle, with multiple confusing screens and buttons that are tough to navigate. Their customer service response was unhelpful, citing a no-refund policy once an order is processed, blaming the “frozen nature” of their product. Adding insult to injury, expect an onslaught of emails—around 20 in one night. The trial is advertised as $64 with discounts, yet I was charged $89 without explanation. I’m disputing it with my credit card, but the experience left a bad taste before I even tried the coffee.
If you’re considering Cometeer, watch your account closely and double-check their misleading subscription settings. Their practices prioritize sales over clarity, and I’d hate for others to feel blindsided like I did. Proceed with caution.
Great coffee, but the "Roach Motel" cancellation process is a huge red flag
Cometeer's coffee quality is great. Subscription cancelation process is very bad though.
The cancellation process on the Cometeer website is intentionally difficult and uses a "dark pattern" or "roach motel" design. Subscribing was easy, but canceling was deceptively difficult.
The process involves multiple steps with hard to spot buttons and misleading language designed to discourage cancellation. Users must navigate multiple pages and click hard to spot "Cancel Subscription" buttons. This can create the false impression that the process is complete.
This whole process left me unsure whether the cancellation was successful and I had to go through the process multiple times to make sure. It is completely unnecessary. Make it simple to cancel.
Is it your goal to collect extra revenue from customers who are confused by your unnecessarily difficult cancellation process? Is it worth the long-term cost of losing a customer's trust and damaging brand reputation?
Defective capsuls AND Charged for subscription I didn't order - can't call to cancel

Bought a trial coffee pack at a local Massachusetts mall and found that they then decided to sign me on to a monthly subscription with my credit card. I DID NOT SIGN FOR THIS. And they didn't have an address nor email to even send me the coffee that I supposedly signed up for.
I couldn't call them because they refuse to provide telephone numbers to customer service. The best they had was an email to a third party customer service company who refused to provide phone number.
Do not buy at these mall promotional setups. Don't give them your credit card. Horrible customer service and I still await their phone number from their lack of "customer service."
Two months following my complaint and a similar complaint to the Better Business Bureau they have not yet responded other than a robo-like email from a third party service that I have never heard of. They wanted my credit card number and I declined that given the history. I DID ask them for a telephone number of someone at the company itself so I can cancel the auto pays. Ended up dealing through the credit card company.
Then I started using the box that I did purchase. Two of the capsules were only half filled. No way I will email to complain. No use. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Ok, give them a chance. I thought the same thing. I recently contacted them on a Friday at around 5 PM. I received a response within 4 hours. Not only did they respond, but they resolved my issue.
