We have been in our Barwood home for around 6 weeks ago and overall we are very happy. The team on site are friendly and happy to chat or answer questions if you have them.
We had a few niggles when we moved in, the most significant of which were sorted promptly. The remaining few snags are taking a little while to complete, but they are just cosmetic and nothing critical so not too worried.
Overall, we are pleased with the house and its quality. I would expect some snags with a new build and those we have experienced have been far smaller than some horror stories you hear. We are pleased we went with Barwood rather than a massive developer building hundreds of houses at once.

Purchased a home on the Heath garden…
Purchased a home on the Heath garden development in Leicester and have been nothing but happy as my expectations have been surpassed. The buying of the property was hard work due to covid times but we received unbelievable support from Louise and the office team which meant the world. As a builder I can vouch for the build quality being excellent, naturally there have been a few minor snags but the most comforting part is having such a good site manager on hand. Julian has been brilliant with helping us settle in and making sure all snags were taken care of prompt and with minimum disruption but like I’ve said earlier in the review the highest compliment I can give him is the management of the overall build and his very approachable manor. I’d recommend a barwood home

Finding and buying our first home for…
Finding and buying our first home for us was terrifying. We have visited numerous new build sites over the course of the last few months and found Barwood - Heathe Gardens to be streaked ahead in overall experience. We were delighted to receive such a warm and friendly reception. Luise and Georgina were able to make the hole process so smooth and stress free for us. Everything has been clearly explained and they were always on hand to answer any questions and queries we had. Without their help we won’t be in our ideal home now. Cannot thank you enough. The site manager Julian and his team, Josh, were absolutely amazing, just a phone call away, responded to our queries straight away and efficiently. Highly appreciated.
Even now that we have our keys, the team on site are still brilliant and help with anything we need! Couldn’t recommend enough! Thank you for everything!!

Very happy in my new home - Waddesdon
Very happy in my new home! The Waddesdon is a very practical home and has ticked off my ‘wish list’ as first home and more! Barwood spec finish is high and is notably so, in comparison to other developers I visited during my search.
Site Management and Sales Office have been attentive before and after my move.
I feel very settled already.

An Excellent Home
It has now been just over 5 months since we moved into our new house at Sherington Grange so we have had a good opportunity to assess the quality not only of our home but of the post sale customer service provided.
The house had only a few very minor snags which have been quickly dealt with. The design and quality of materials used is first rate and the house has exceeded expectations in all aspects. Although building work has continued on the site during our occupancy all of the contractors have shown courtesy and consideration throughout. Aki, the site manager has kept us informed of any issues that may affect us during this period and makes sure everything moves along smoothly.
The site is very nearly completed now but the management of Barwood have remained committed to ensuring that the experience in our new home is as pleasant as possible. We are looking forward to enjoying our new house for many years to come.

I was nervous about buying a new build
I was nervous about buying a new build, as one hears so many horror stories. However, our experience with Barwood has been brilliant so far! We moved in a month ago and found only a few minor things for snagging, which were fixed quickly. The sales rep was great, with quick answers to my many questions, and she stayed close during the whole sale-of-our-house-purchase-of-new process; the site manager is knowledgeable and amiable.

A new home after 50 years in the previous one ! Very happy with the build quality in Anstey. There were a few minor snagging issues which were dealt with promptly in a very professional manner. Julian and Josh in particular have been very helpful and made the settling in period much easier.especially as we were the first to move onto the site with a lot of work going on around us.

A very difficult and stressful…
A very difficult and stressful experience that I am relieved to no longer be living. During my potential purchase I experienced a lack of transparency, poor, aggressive and at times, a bullying style of email communication. Promises made that were fundamental to my decision to buy the property were also not for filled and when I asked for support from the senior management team I was not provided with the opportunity for a discussion, neither did they reply to my email. During this experience the company appeared to be heavily focused on financials without a thought for customer experience. Unfortunately I will not be continuing with the purchase and will never engage with this company again.

DO NOT BUY.
Buyer Beware. I agree with Barry and Vic. No way can these "amazing" reviews be genuine. No one in their right mind would put such glowing rubbish up. Following a review elsewhere I drove across to Alderminster some time ago and found that EVERY ROOF ON THE ESTATE IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPLACED while buyers are living in them. Is this what you want when buying a new home and all the trouble leading up to it. A lady told me that buyers had grouped together over the roofs and other matters. If you don't get involved with them you can't regret it. From Barwood's response below they don't want you to speak to genuine customers. If you are thinking of spending a lot of money on a home don't be afraid to speak to random customers. What is it that Barwood are afraid of. In response to their question below Barwood should be afraid of nothing if potential buyers seek real opinions from existing buyers with significant experiences. It is obvious by their reactions that they do not want any potential buyers to seek advice from long term existing customers. They are afraid that potential buyers might be told the truth.

Review for Customer Services
Since we purchased our house form Barwood Homes, we have received extremely good support from the Customer Care Department. All our emails/queries have been answered within the three day time limit and the replies are compressive and understanding. Whilst sometimes there has been a delay to works being carried out this was mainly due to Covid restrictions and the weather. We were however always kept up to date. So all in all a very efficient and caring service.

Barwood have been exceptional throughout the whole process. Jayne has been fantastic and unbelievably patient explaining every stage of purchasing our lovely new home. We are so happy to be settling in to an amazing property thanks Jayne and Barwood Homes!

Unhappy experience - Leicestershire
On the surface the house seemed wonderful, but within months they showed their true colours. We were lied to and ever time we tried to tell them about snags it always ended up our fault! The experience took the shine off the house, poor fitting windows, poor floor finishes, no follow up from customer service. This is the second time I have bought a new house from a builder and it has put me off ever doing so again. David Wilson's were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. In the end with Barwoods we have given up complaining, tired of being spoken to like a small child or just downright rude and condescending. I could go on but I would be here forever, the bottom line is unfortunately the houses are marketed as top of the range and you pay for that finish but scratch the surface and you find a different story.

I have recently purchased a 3 bed in Oxfordshire with Barwood Homes. The quality of the build is of a very high standard compared to some of the other larger housebuilders. Plus the service provided, from sales through to aftercare was very attentive and dealt with any minor issues efficiently.
