My experience with cord.com has been great so far! I've had several interviews and conversations with prospective employers and they've all been great.

Additionally the site is well laid out with the ability to filter for your ideal jobs and find that special role your looking for.

Honestly one of the most frustrating job sites I've ever used.

As someone job hunting, you put a lot of effort into your CV, but for this one special platform, no you must use our wildly inadequate set of seemingly arbitrarily determined categories. For example. My partner and i are looking to buy a house somewhere (we don't know where yet and I'm using this as an opportunity to expand my job search) and as such I've been applying for jobs all over the country. But no. On Cord you can only select 3 locations (none of which can just be a country or even a county, only cities listed in their gazetteer).

It was just about usable if you put significant time and effort into managing it, but i only use it when job ads on LinkedIn forced me to apply through it. Even then, clicking on apply doesn't ask you to login it asks you to create a profile (which i already have) under the guise of being part of the application process, hiding the tiny "have an account?" button at the bottom of the screen. Again, irritatingly poor UX design, but workable once you know.

That was until 3 weeks ago. Found a Software Engineering Manager job i was a great match for on LinkedIn which unfortunately made me apply through Cord. I tried to log in but apparently the password that i hadn't changed and was told in an email from their CEO would work post-domain-change, didn't work. So i did what anyone would do and reset my password thinking it must have just been a glitch with the changeover (although not sure how that would have happened given a domain is just an address and not any kind of infrastructure like databases or services). This password reset appeared to work. I got the reset email, changed my password, and received the confirmation. Great user experience! Or so i thought.... I tried to log in with the new password - "Email and password do not match" - ARE YOU KIDDING ME!... so just for fun i tried it again, using a manually typed password, just in case the one my password manager generated caused problems or something.... Exactly the same thing happened!

So again i followed the normal process and emailed support on @cord.com (their new domain and the email provided on their site for contact at the time) It's been 3 weeks and i haven't had so much as an acknowledgement of my support request.

To be very clear, this happened over 2 weeks after their domain changeover, so you cannot tell me you've been operating as a business without a support function for 2+ weeks?!

Today i have forwarded my original email to the support email again (double checking this is the cord.com domain again), and 15 mins later i haven't even had an auto reply so wish me luck folks.

In all seriousness there are some aspects i quite like about the platform, the direct contact with internal recruiters is great and means you at least get a little feedback, but it seems obvious they know who their customers are (the actual recruiting businesses) and as a result the experience for applicants needs some real work.

PS if you need an EM to come in and help you through some of your scaling issues I'm available ;)

Great website, has secured me 2 roles with temporary duration. Currently using them for permanent roles, great way to humanize the recruitment process.

I love using cord when I am looking for new opportunities. My first job in London almost 4 years ago I found it using cord. Since then, a lot of things have changed in the product for the better so I am looking forward to the next time I need to use it!

A great place to find a job and message future employers.

One of the absolute worst job sites online. You get ZERO response from their support team when you raise any questions or queries.

Ive raised with them on how ridiculousy confusing their site is for applicants and how their "messaging and applying" for positions simply dont work.

Best experience I had on a job site so far. The interface is slick and modern. The steps needed to apply to a job are few and short, and best of all, the companies there don't usually expect you to do a ton of extra work to put your cv on a specific format - probably because Cord's tools are already good. Sending a cover letter is easy with the templates they provide.

The fact they show stats about employers (and candidates) response time is great. It shows you which companies are worth spending time with and which ones are probably a waste of time.

They also have a feature I don't know how no one ever thought about it: you can write a list of companies who won't see your cv - for example, your current employer. Simple and brilliant.

Only criticism I have so far is that not a lot of companies are hiring though them... YET! But I hope that changes soon, because they truly are superior to every other site I used before.

It feels much more personal and connecting to reach out to companies on Cord. You can really get a feel for who they are and whether you want to apply, and the human touch really helps.

Cord is amazing! Helps you find jobs that are easily suited to you by matching you up with skills you have and skills listed on the job. The company can directly contact you and there’s an application tracker where you can see all of the jobs you’ve applied for / interviewed etc

As a candidate, I must say that the Cord platform has been the best tool I've ever used to search for a job. I found my first new job after a long time at one company due to Cord. It's easy to use, has a lovely messaging system, and has a beautiful UX.

So far so good, had some good leads and the in built kanban tracker is really handy. Occasional ui state bugs but otherwise enjoying cord.

Cord is a really great unique job-search platform which connects you directly with employers to have a conversation with them at the first stage. Cuts out a lot of the ambiguity of submitting an application and waiting to possibly not hear back from it. Employers will usually send you a response letting you know you're not the right fit if they're not interested, which is much better than waiting in the dark.
