A refreshing change from the likes of LinkedIN or Indeed. At the very least you're getting a message from a human rather than an automated system generated email. A breath of fresh air.

Cord provides a direct link to internal company recruiters, showing their response rate. This helps to prevent ghosting with almost every enquiry getting a reply.

Not great for career transitioners
Not great for career transitioners. I was switching from non-technical/data analytics to data science roles and it didn't grant me messaging access as my skills were 'not high in demand'. Definitely not a more 'human job search' when you don't allow folks to use the platform for it's given purpose unless they meet a preexisting set of skills.
Cord: The Transparent Job Platform We Needed

Very useful for job seeking, positive result
I found it useful for finding jobs and connecting with employers. The website has a clear goal and great tools like templates and insights. When looking for a job, I have statistics to rely on, and it helped me manage my expectations on how long I should wait for a reply.
The jobs posted are also easy to filter and find a good match.

After I registered, I got a lot of job propositions without doing anything except uploading my CV. Recruiters were writing to me instead of me writing to them.
Also, it is really nice that Cord encourages recruiters to provide more information about positions, the company and interview process and even more, the salary range the company is ready to pay.

Cord is more focused and get the job done quickly, I love the board if you're job hunting it could help you organise which ones you applied to and which you want, there a few things to iron out, but overall good experience.
Too many flaky recruiters, never used to be like this
This app used to be good 2-3 years ago—now it seems to be full of flaky recruiters that ignore you, my experience on Otta, and other alternatives has been better—this never used to be the case the past. Listings become far too saturated (‘over 10 requests’) and filled up like it is on LinkedIn. I think the service is slowly becoming like LinkedIn.
I think cord should consider building a feature to incentivise recruiters to reply more frequently, similarly to the way Fiverr does it. You should also stop showing listings if they reach a max threshold of applicants because it defeats the purpose of a ‘more human job search’ if it is just becoming a LinkedIn/indeed with a direct messaging feature stapled onto it.

Amazing app, great to directly get in touch and chat with people that are recruiting for the position, hassle free, people are usually very responsive, no time wasted!

Targeted searching and filtering
Its a good option to have, especially if you want to exclude a search where you don't want to go through a recruiter. You can see when last the hiring agent was online or responded and how old the post is etc, sorting specifically by primary skills and then secondary skills is helpful to weed out jobs you don't want.
Best job search platform
I've been using Cord since the beginning and it's by far my favourite platform. It is super complete, with not only vacancies for jobs but also articles and events. My favourite aspects are the variety of companies on the platform, the speed with which we can apply to a position and get feedback, and their tech hub.
As a final note I would just like to say that all the staff that I've interacted so far is so great and friendly so thank you so much. Please keep up the good work.
Fantastic site, very active in London, though sometimes buggy UI
This app has got me speaking to many recruiters in a short time, many approached me first. I would say make sure your profile is up to date. The insights feature is really cool as it tells you where you stand compare to other candidates in conversation with the employer, as well as those who got a job. Only down side is sometimes the UI is buggy or not responsive but a refresh helps.
Simple but effective
It was very easy and intuitive to start a conversation with a company I was interested to. I had the change of exchanging some messages quite easily and then set an interview so I could proceed with the application. In that matter Cord is truly amazing and easy to use!
Use to be good in the early days but, dont bother
Filled out my profile and spent a good amount of time trying to adjust it so it can appeal to a broader range of roles….but its not going to get you anywhere with the way it works here.
Sadly, a lot of the recruiters will just briefly look at your profile "only" and not your CV and will just instantly reject you.
In the earlier days, I found that recruiters were diligent enough to look at both your CV and profile. And they were more willing just to have a chat. The recruiters have to be held responsible as well. Its unfair for job seekers to put up with their low standards.
The profile section is very trimmed and only allows a certain number of options so you have to pick wisely before applying for different roles.
Its almost impossible to reach out to customer support on Cord. That needs to be addressed.
If Iam being honest, this isnt the worst job board website but it could be better.

Became a victim of its own success
Cord used to be a great way I could find positions as a developer, knowing that whilst it had less roles than other job sites it had much more human interactions where you would always be able to speak to a recruiter directly.
Since then it seems to have “sold out” and allowed external companies and recruitment agencies to fill the platform with junk roles that aren’t worth the time to sift through.
Cord not only used to be my go to site but I would also recommend it frequently to other people in the industry. However with its huge degradation in quality I will no longer be doing either.
