Visited Limon for a coastal tour last week and an incredible experience. the local guides were extremly welcomin, shared great insights about the culture, and ensured everything ran smoothly. Truly unforgettable service.

If I could rate this agency at less than one star, I would. I used mycostarica as part of a shared itinerary with others. I travel internationally quite often and admit I have never used a travel agency before. And I will never do so again.

First, as the itinerary was largely set by another group, there was ZERO communication with me regarding the actual itinerary of the trip. Just a finalized set of activities sent to me over and over again. Im afraid of heights, so the zip line trip and hanging bridges were basically a mini version of hell. I would have not attended this part of the trip had I not ended up totally alone (more on that later).

Second, the trip was extremely stressful because of this poor communication, particularly regarding the uncertainty of who, or if, things like transport had been successfully coordinated.

Most significantly, the agency failed to relay entry requirements for my significant other to successfully enter costa rica. This turned a lovely romantic getaway into a sad, rainy, expensive week alone in a jungle.

Also, the place they reserved for me in Monteverde could not have been more depressing. Apparently, despite sharing an itinerary with another group, I had a totally separate vacation. While they were in a nice, spacious room with things like hot water and electricity, i was alone, in a sad, leaking, awful "rustic jungle lodge" that was simultaneously too dark, and yet impossibly bright at night due to a trail spotlight directly over the bed. I wouldn't go back if you paid me.

To add insult to injury, this was by far the most expensive trip I have ever taken.
Despite the exorbitant costs for the deposits, I was extorted for extra transfer money for my partner the day before the trip (the partner who couldn't enter the country). And although he did not attend because of their failure to communicate the necessary health requirements, i was not given any refund at all.

Jason Bateman apparently responded immediately to every concern from my travel partners. Kathleen Gonzalez left all of my messages on read and didn't respond to me once while I was in the country. I could not be less impressed. If youre planning a trip to Costa Rica, do yourself a favor and arrange your own trip. Save your money and stress and dont work with these chuckleheads.

I traveled to Costa Rica in June 2025 and trusted costarica.org to handle everything—and I’m so glad I did. From the very first call, they took the time to understand what I wanted from this vacation and built an itinerary that truly reflected my goals. Their team was professional, inviting, and incredibly attentive throughout the entire process.

Over the course of my trip, I stayed in four beautiful locations along the Pacific Coast, each one hand-picked to give me the right mix of comfort and local flavor. The tours they arranged—from deep sea fishing to unique cultural and nature experiences—were spot on. Every transfer, booking, and detail was seamless, which let me focus completely on enjoying the adventure.

What stood out most was how personal it felt. They weren’t just selling a package—they genuinely cared that I had the best experience possible. I felt looked after the whole time and never once had to worry about logistics. On top of that, I believe I got outstanding value for the money—far more than if I’d tried to piece things together on my own.

If you want a stress-free, unforgettable Costa Rica vacation planned by people who actually listen and care, I can’t recommend them enough.

This agency was phenomenal. We just returned from an 11 day vacation that I planned through My Costa Rica. We stayed 3 days in Arenal, 3 days in Monteverde, and 3 days in Tamarindo. We booked tours in each location. Every hotel was amazing and they were all represented 100% accurately on the My Costa Rica website. We booked our tours and transportation through the agency. Every guide and driver was friendly, on time, and knowledgeable. The My Costa Rica staff was on call via What's App for any questions and responded immediately to inquiries. We did not have a single issue during our vacation. I will definitely return to Costa Rica and will use this agency every time.

Our pickups and entire schedule were on time, effortless, and worry-free. Only once, when a driver was a few minutes late, did we contact them during the trip. They responded in less than two minutes, and were immediately in contact with the driver, who arrived a few minutes later. That is impressive!

We planned a first-time trip to Costa Rica for my family of 4 (two teens). My Costa Rica devised an itinerary that included all we wanted to see -- ocean, jungle, volcano, city, wildlife, local foods, unique adventures, etc. It all went smoothly with a different highlight every day!

This is the first travel agency I have ever used for my entire trip planning and it was my first trip to Costa Rica. Jason and Lorena were extremely helpful and even checked in with us while we were there. They planned a great trip with four tours and part time inland near Arenal and part time at the beach in Tamarindo. They were so accommodating and changed a couple tours to make the times easier to attend after a late arrival.
My favorite thing about being in Costa Rica was how much each of our guides really loved their home and it was so apparent in the way they spoke about it. All of our guides were just as excited about the animals as we were!
Our favorite hotel was Arenal Paraiso in La Fortuna. Our cabin was beautiful and the view was spectacular. We swam every day and enjoyed the food. Both of our tours were awesome and it never rained until the afternoon or evening when we were back, so we also got to enjoy the downpours from either the restaurant or our cabin.
Our favorite trip was probably the Adventure Combo with ziplining, horseback riding, and the hot springs. The biggest reason was because our guide, Pedro, was fantastic. He was with us all the time, not rushing us, but making us comfortable and safe. He felt like a friend by the time we were back.
(Our least favorite trip was the catamaran, because the snorkeling was poor, but it was still a nice trip anyway - just not our favorite because it was a party boat and we most loved the nature trips.)
When we come back to CR, we want to visit the Caribbean side and hopefully have better snorkeling! Tamarindo was fun to walk around, but there were definitely too many gringos and we enjoy the less touristy places. Our best meal was at the Soda Muy Buena where we had casado and watermelon juice in Tamarindo!
I highly recommend Jason and Lorena, especially if it is your first time to Costa Rica.

My Costa Rica was fantastic planing for our first time trip to Costa Rica, the it was on May 2021. My husband and I we enjoyed every day there without worries of anything. Jason and Lorena they had everything on schedule for us tours hotels etc, they are a honest company you can trust them 100%
when we were there Lorena she was always given us a call checking if everything was ok.
they are amazing polite and always respond to any concerns if we had. Jason has so much patiences with his customers, to help them to get the best trip ever.

My Costa Rica was amazing to work with, from start to finish. I originally reached out via email but then also spoke to Jason by phone. I felt completely comfortable using their services for my first trip to Costa Rica, knowing very little about the country and planning a solo trip. We worked and re-worked my plans and they were perfect on paper and ended up being perfect in real life; I had a great time. I stayed in 3 different hotels over the course of 8 days and each one was terrific. The transfers (boat, car and plane) were all arranged by My Costa Rica and they went perfectly. I would absolutely refer them to friends and family.

I am so thankful I found this agency! I worked with Jason and Lorena and they were both absolutely amazing and took all the stress and worry away from planning such a big trip! Jason did a wonderful job planning our family vacation! He was patient, friendly, and professional! You could tell he truly cared about ensuring he met our expectations and planned a trip we would all love, within our budget, and never hesitated to make changes if I voiced even the slightest dislike in something. Jason even took the extra step to ensure we had a booster seat for all transports for my youngest son so we didn't have to travel with one! Lorena was a God send! There for us every step of the way from answering pre trip questions, to checking in throughout and after our trip! They were there for us anytime we needed them! This was extremely important to me as this was my family and I, first trip out of the country and although it was all fine, my nerves leading up to the trip were through the roof with questions and doubts! My family consists of myself, my significant other, and our 3 boys ranging in age from 13, 10, and 6. We ALL had the time of our lives thanks to my costarica! Our trip all the way from the driver's who transported us, to the hotels, tours, and customer service were hands down the best, we had the trip of our dreams! It was everything we could have asked for and more! I will definitely be recommending this agency to all our family and friends and will be using them again for our next CR trip!

“I was very hesitant to go with any tour company, but Jason Bateman Travel Coordinator for My Costa Rica.org dispelled all my doubts. I could tell from his enthusiasm that he really loves his job and also the country of Costa Rica. He made me want to know more of what his company had to offer about Costa Rica without trying to be 'pushy'. He's honest and upfront because he believes in the company. We didn't think international travel during COVID was even possible (other agencies didn't get back to us or didn't even answer the phone) but My Costa Rica responded immediately and helped us have an amazing reprise during this stressful time. I normally do not use travel agencies and was hesitant, yet I was very impressed with their knowledge as specialists in one destination, with an office in San José, Costa Rica and one in Boulder, CO. Jason and Lorena offered us a custom vacation package that put our needs first, but also tuned us on to experiences we would not have thought of or done on our own. Highly recommended for your dream Costa Rican adventure...PURA VIDA!

We were scheduled to travel to Costa Rica for two weeks to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary just as the pandemic caused us to have to cancel the trip. To our surprise, the fine print in the expensive travel insurance policy we had taken out said it would not cover in case of pandemic! We turned to My Costa Rica for help. The company had been extremely helpful in planning the trip ... listening to our wishes and age limitations, making revisions in the proposed itinerary, and answering all our anxious questions. When we told Jason we would not be able to safely make the trip because of the pandemic, he immediately contacted all the vendors and arranged a significant credit if we re-scheduled before April 1, 2021. We went ahead and re-scheduled for January 2021. However, with the continuing rise of COVID-19 cases, we called once again to cancel. Once again, Jason and My Costa Rica stepped up and extended our credit until May 1, 2022. At first we were skeptical in planning the trip with a small, local Costa Rica company instead of one of the big-name national companies. However, we could never have been as happy as with My Costa Rica. Their customer service, sensitivity to travelers’ needs, and flexibility in arranging our travel could not be surpassed. They listened and cared. We hope COVID-19 will allow us to make our trip by 2022 and belatedly celebrate our 50th anniversary, thanks to My Costa Rica.
