Purchased dance shoes but too small. Returned using the postage slip provided by this company but apparently delivered to the wrong address. Not our problem they said unwilling to do anything to help.... Toon meer

Don't cry for me Argentina I will never leave the shop.

What do you think of Dancewear Cental?

Yesterday I ordered two items online, a ballerina cardigan and some leg warmers. Knowing that I needed the items in a hurry, I paid the premium rate delivery charge.
All was ok @ the check out and I expected to receive (M)y goods the following day, I was given no indication that there would be any delays.
Yesterday I received an email from the shop to advise due to COVID it might not be possible to deliver the goods on time, and that I would receive an email when the goods would be ready to be delivered.
So I waited (Lindiwe) guys, no message, I just phoned the shop today, and discovered that not only were the items not going to be delivered on time but that additionally one of the items that I ordered, online was out of stock. The Website when I ordered gave no indication that 1 day express service that I paid for was defunct and that the item I wanted to buy was out of stock. So total thumbs down.

The out of stock information was visible throughout the order process (at the point of ordering and in your order confirmation email) and all information with regards to the delivery options can be found in the delivery terms on our website. With regards to the possible delays on the Next Day delivery, this was provided on your email confirmation issued immediately after your purchase. If you had contacted us immediately at this point, we would have cancelled and refunded your order.

Will definitely be purchasing from Dancewear Central again

Recently purchased a pair of the capezio tele tone tap shoes and tanned character shoes for work. I've worn both pairs nearly everyday for the last month and they still look brand new. Great quality and price. Also super impressed with the delivery as they arrived in no time at all. Will definitely be purchasing from Dancewear Central again.

Great company!

I ordered some LHP tap shoes from Dancewear Central and had to send them back to exchange for a different size. I was incredibly impressed with how easy the system was to use, and the wonderful customer service I have received (this time, and previously) from this company. Cannot recommend them enough!!

I’m amazed by this company.

I’m amazed by this company.
First of all they were the only one having the character shoes that I need from Bloch in my size and it was the last pair in stock.
I contacted them via email to make sure they were still in stock and that it was the product that I need.
In this occasion I had the chance to get to know Danielle, very helpful, caring and patient. A true professional.
She answered to every email (and were lots) super fast and very understanding.
Followed me through the whole process making sure I got the shoes confirming my purchase till the very end.
Dancewear central prices are really competitive and the product arrived well packed.
The box of the shoes is immaculate and the shoes inside are perfect! No damage, not faulty. Inside the box I found also the fabric bag that comes with the shoes.
Within your order you will receive an invoice and also an additional form to fulfill in case of a return is needed.
Their website works brilliantly and it tells you how many of that items is still in stock in what size (you just need to read before you buy!) so you can make your calculations.
The delivery was crazy fast! I ordered it the night before and the morning of the next day they were at my door (and I didn’t pay for fast delivery), CRAZY!
I will definitely use this website for my school and I will absolutely purchase again in future!
SUPER SATISFIED!!! 100!!!

Great experience with this company

I ordered a few shoe sizes as they state to size up, all arrived quickly and good quality. It was really easy to return the sizes that were too small, communication was fantastic and refund processed really quickly. Great experience with this company

Out of stock

Don’t believe their buy before to receive next day. Ordered tap shoes, three weeks later I had to email them only to be told they were out of stock. Would not have minded if they just simply let me know. Reading the other comments it seems a regular thing. Let’s hope I get my refund quickly. Will write another review if they don’t!!!

Thank you for your comments. We are very sorry to hear you are disappointed. We can confirm that your refund for both the tap shoes and postage has been processed.

For orders of in-stock items placed before 2pm, we do despatch the same day via Royal Mail first class. Customers are advised of out-of-stock items at the point of purchase (once the size and colour is selected on our website) and this is also advised on the email order confirmation. Most of our out-of-stock orders are fulfilled with 14 days, but occasionally this is longer.

The dancewear industry has been struggling with tap shoes in particular over the last 12-18 months. And whilst we do try to update as many customers as possible about out-of-stock items, we are afraid it has not been possible to proactively contact every single one recently due to this unprecedented supply issues with tap shoes.

terrible customer service

Sent wrong size, was ignored for 3 weeks after sending many emails. eventually, i rang them and they would not send new my actual order for 10 working days after id returned the item that i'd already payed for !

Poor customer service

The prices are competitive, and if you know what you want it's fine and delivery is fairly fast. However, I've asked for guidance on sizes and received no reply; got sent the wrong size on two occasions; and received faulty goods. As other reviews have said, customer service is non-existant. If it's faulty goods they have to refund the return postage, but I haven't had a refund and I really can't be bothered chasing them. No apology over the wrong sizes either. I've shopped with them for 8 years now, but the mistakes they've made and the poor service mean I'm now going to shop elsewhere. It's just not worth it to save a few ££.

We are only able to find one email from yourself (11th August) plus a reply from our customer service team (11th August), which advised that you send back the faulty shoes for investigation and specify which product you would like to exchange for. We can see you had an exchange order sent out on 19th August. However we are unable to locate any correspondence relating to sizing queries I am afraid. Misleading stock availability

Showed stock when ordered but they were actually out of stock. Customer services even admitted it was misleading as they still wanted people to place an order, no apology was offered. Double check stock before you send any money people.

Our website is set up to allow backorders, which is quite common within the dancewear sector. Once a specific colour and size is selected our website does update to show if that specific item is in stock. This is also shown on the email order confirmation once the order is placed. We do apologise if this was missed.

Usually items that are out of stock at the time, do arrive into us swiftly and we then post these out at no extra postage cost to our customers. But of course, if a customer does not wish to wait for an item we are able to offer an alternative in-stock item or a refund.

Very misleading seems like their…

Very misleading seems like their priority is to sell thats all! After looking around for weeks decided to shop here as it seemed they had the sizes in stock well wow that was a mistake. I placed my order i got one item out of 4 real quick so i was still oblivious, after waiting a couple of weeks i decided to phone and enquire to my shock i was told they were out of stock and waiting and when they restock i will be sent my items! Why on earth would you mislead people into thinking you have stock and taking their money?! Am still waiting by the way my little one is having to go classes with no uniform still and its almost half term! Never again! Thank you so much for that.

Dancers are often particularly loyal to certain brands, for reasons of fit and colour continuity for uniforms. The majority of customers prefer to reserve stock to ensure delivery as soon as they become available from stock. If you are unable to wait, we will of course refund the goods not yet despatched, or can offer similar alternatives – whichever you prefer.

Great customer service

Very pleased with the product and especially the customer service, which is exemplary. I left a message on the website yesterday morning, was called back that day, and today my parcel arrived. Can't beat that! Normally in "covid" times, everything takes forever, but not this time. Big thank you!

Take care that out of stock items aren't added to your basket and charged for!

I placed an order for 3 items at a £43 total - I was happy to pay the £4 postage.

I got my confirmation and waited - only 1 item arrived! When I checked my confirmation 2 items were out of stock - but I had still be charged the full amount.

When I queried this and asked for the out of stock items and postage to be refunded, I was told that the postage would not be - £4 postage for a pair of tights is pretty excessive and I wouldn't have paid had I known.

How can you charge people for out of stock items - what if they don't come in stock for months?

Excellent service

Dancewear Central have been extremely helpful and professional. An item I ordered was out of stock and was not delivered with the rest of my order however after speaking to them, nothing was too much trouble and a refund was issued straight away.
The quality of their products are lovely and I shall definitely be ordering from them again. Such quick delivery speed too.

Not a good experience ordering from…

Not a good experience ordering from Dancewear Central.

Update following response.
The warehouse, returns dept and customer services all seem to be in entirely different counties and have no way of communicating. I ended up paying £8 for postage and return postage and have no dance shoes. You weren’t prepared to send any more out, insisting you would only refund, because the returns department had already processed it. I got a very abrupt phone call to tell me there was nothing you would do to help. Waste of time and money.

Exceptional service.

I have been a dance teacher for many years and used different dancewear companies over that time but I am very impressed with Dancewear Central for several reasons but mostly the speed of the orders. I have had confirmation that an order has been dispatched within half an hour or placing the order. I have also found them very helpful over the phone with queries. I will certainly stick with this company for my school items.

Ballet shoes are tiny! Not to proper UK sizes

I ordered a bag and ballet shoes for my daughter. The bag was fine, but the ballet shoes were so small (even though as requested on the website I ordered half a size up from her usual outdoor show size). They honestly could have been used as a keyring. Their customer services team told me I would have to send them back at my own expense and if they found the size was wrong I would be refunded up to £5. They were really unhelpful and if the shoes had been a bit out size-wise it wouldn't have been so bad, but when I measured them they were a size 8.5! I would deter anyone from buying their ballet shoes as clearly they are not standard sizes

We always compile customer feedback so we can advise as best as possible for each brand/style, as all differ, and of course dancer’s foot width, instep and general shape can all have an impact on which style offers the best fit for each individual.
