Excellent Service and Great Quality Boxes

I am too busy to be constantly updating my wardrobe so I turned to Dappad 3 years ago. I have been thoroughly impressed with the service and the quality of boxes I have received so far. Every box has a variety of clothes giving me multiple outfits for multiple occasions. The clothes are always a great fit and the materials used are far superior. Plus, I appreciate the female input.

The service has been extremely quick and personal. I will receive an email about my next box and within 2/3 working days, the box will be delivered. On one occasion, I did not like the fit of a couple of the shirts I received. I emailed the Erika and received a reply the same day. The collection was arranged for the next day and 2 days later I received a replacement.

Definitely would recommend Dappad to anyone man who struggles with knowing what looks good and who wants to improve his overall style.

Excellent personal service

I've used this service about 5 times now over a period of 2 years and I have to say it is excellent.
There are others claiming to offer a similar thing (which I have also used) but the thing that sets Dappad apart is the personal service.
I get proper communication with Erika (the owner) who is always keen to make sure she gets it right.
For me it's perfect. I like the Scandanavian style - simple and suitable for tall, slim builds. It might not be for everyone, but I really like it.
All of the outfits are meant to compliment eachother and can be mixed and matched.
It's encouraged me to come out of my comfort zone and to try things I might not otherwise have trid.
The prices are very reasonable too. I'm sure it's possible to get things cheaper on the internet, but the personal stylist (which is what it is) is very valuable to me.
I've also found it quick and very convenient in terms of delivery and collection of any unwanted items.
I would thoroughly recommend this service.

Ok but doubt I’d use again.......

Appaling service

My experience with Dappad can only be described as appalling. My delivery was addressed to the wrong house, when the parcel eventually arrived after much intervention by myself, none of the clothes where even close to the sizes or style I’d specified. To cap it all, it cost £70 for nothing. The scam is clever, if you return the clothes they say they smell of smoke and need cleaning. As a smoke free household this is insulting to say the least. Please, avoid this company at all costs, as it will cost you to return the clothes

Please do let me address your concerns.

We do apologise for the wrong house - it was the right street but the house had been done in-correctly, however we did fix this on the same day and the parcel came to you the following day.

The clothes were all in the sizes that you had noted and as always we thought it was a great box with amazing styles that would make you look great. On our site we make it clear the sort of style that we have which is Scandinavian minimalist and effortless.

Clothes have to come back to us in a state that we can sell and in this case all the clothes were reaking of smoke smell. I do not know how this came about but they did and in this instance I wouldn't have been able to resell them. Bear in mind that these were clothes worth around 1100 pounds and we're a start up that need to watch our spend. This is only the second time this has happened for us in our 3 years of being up and running, however this will happen from time to time. Our dry clean bill was really 129 pounds and we only charged you 49.5 for it so all in we didn't hold you responsible for it all.

We have 100s of happy and very loyal customers but we aren't something for everyone and that is completely fine. We hope you find clothes that suit you and your life.

This is going to be long but bear with me!

UPDATE:

They have now come back and told me that the £20 deposit is not refundable.. this is not a deposit then, this is a charge. I have informed my credit card and will be informing trading standards. I would recommend you avoid and BEWARE!

This is going to be long, so please bear with me.

As a regular user of one of their competitors I thought I'd try these as I noticed them on Dragon's Den.

After filling out the profile and agreeing to the 50% charge etc, I got a text saying my box would be delivered next day.

Next day, I get a text from the courier saying they couldn't deliver today as they did not receive the box from Dappad yet.. .so day after the box arrived.

The box itself is the standard clothes style box you get from these online personal shopper. However, I noticed that there was a security sticker that was broken on the box. Given that there were other branded stickers on the box closing I thought nothing of it and thought it may of just snapped when lifted as there was a bit of give in the lid.. and the fact that when I opened the box the items were wrapped in paper with another sticker closing them only re-inforced the idea that the security sticker had simply snapped when it was being carried.

After looking through the items I noticed it was missing the one thing I asked for, shoes! I thought this wasn't good.. that they couldn't follow requests but it got me worried that the security seal was broken so I started looking for the itemised list... which competitors normally include, to check if something was missing from the box - but there is no itemised list! However, there is a letter saying that there are 7 days to thing about it and items that you don't want to contact the stylist and they will arrange collection of the box and to simply close the box securely using the stickers provided or some strong tape... but there were no stickers in the box but it got me thinking about the stickers that were used on the outside of the box! IT MUST OF BEEN THOSE!!

This got me worried that the box has been tampered with and some items removed and the fact there is no itemised list I cannot verify this!!!

I emailed my request to have the box collected as nothing in the box was something I would wear, and it was missing the one thing I asked for (shoes) and also voiced my concerns about the security seal etc.

I did not receive any reply but a text from the courier saying they would be collecting next day.

We always include an itemised bill and invoice in every box and I'm not sure why one wasn't included in your box. This must have been a mistake from our side or if somebody tampered with the box. In regards to the shoes we discussed this together and we were ordering in shoes for you but thought we would get a box out to you as soon as possible and then send the shoes later on. I'm sorry if this wasn't communicated to you clearly and we will make sure that we improve on this in the future. We always try and do the absolute best that we can for all our customers and I'm sorry that this happened to you in this instance. Having tried competitors of this start …

Having tried competitors of this start up in the past in this space, I was excited when I read the review in GQ of Dappad. The principle is simple, fill out your profile on their site, on clothes preference with your measurements, which generates an algorithm, then a stylist sends you a box of clothes, you pay for what you keep, and return what you don't want. The first difference with Dappad over Enclothed as an example, is they ask for more information, everything except your star sign, and where it rises! Also the fraud check deposit, which verifies address, DOB, name is £20 as opposed too £1 on Enclothed. Dappad has a Scandinavian feel too it, as the CEO is from there, as reported by GQ.

So I registered, heard nothing for three days, and sent an email enquiring as to "what happens next", I recieved a reply from Erika, founder and CEO, telling me Agnes was my stylist, and she would "look after me". Well I wish I'd had my Google translator at that point, as that was, as I soon learned Scandinavian for " bend over".

I recieved a few emails from Agnes on what I was looking for, and duly replied. I then recieved an email telling me my box was ready to ship, and that unlike others in this space, I was required too pay 50% of the box value, £620.00 up front, for clothes I've never seen, and a company I've no experience of! I declined their kind offer and asked for my £20 deposit back. Unlikely to be seen again.

So unless you wish to take part in the latest thing in crowd funding, and support an under funded start-up, avoid like the plague, and stick to the established names in this space.
