We had an orangery extension on our kitchen in 2010, we were initially very pleased. After a few years we had a problem with a constant drip on the corners and joints in the centre of each panel, after a particularly wet period we then had a drip inside. We contacted David Salisbury because we had a 10 year guarantee and we were still within the 10 years. They sent two men to repair the lead but still it continued. They then sent two other men to look at the problem and they said they could do a temporary repair because it was too wet at the time and would come back at a later date when it was dry. They never returned and David Salisbury’s say that we are now out of the 10 year guarantee but the problem has never been resolved. They referred us to a contractor but said we would have to pay, the contractor never returned our calls and we getting nowhere with David Salisburys.

The orangery we ordered has just been finished and we are thrilled with it. We had previously tried to use another company and had planning issues, but David Salisbury handled the whole process from start to finish. Their communication is excellent and all the people we have come into contact with for design and build have been truly excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Our Orangery is now finished and we are delighted with the end result. It looks fabulous and we are receiving some wonderful feedback from our family, friends and neighbours. From the moment we saw the architects design we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. The whole process from start to finish was carried out with the utmost attention to detail from the building work and the actual orangery fitting. Particular credit must go to the David Salisbury fitters, Ian and Callum who worked the 2 weeks before Christmas in a bitterly cold minus 10 degrees keeping the project on time. They remained so cheerful and worked so hard, I was almost sad to see them go. A massive well done and thank you to everyone concerned.

We are delighted with our new Orangery. From start to finish the Salisbury's team were brilliant. Our project was managed effectively and efficiently from design, through planning, build and completion. Barry (the chief builder) and his team deserved a particular mention for their excellent work - all thoroughly recommended. High quality materials were used and the standard of finish is superb. Overall we are delighted with our DS Orangery which looks fantastic and I expect has paid for most of itself in the increased house value. Our first interaction with the designer was very easy and simple. We quickly arrived at a layout that suited our needs. Our account manager was available and responsive throughout the process. And the installation team were extremely efficient and tidy. For all of this we would have given a 5 start review. The main reason for 4 is that this during the process we had 3 different contract managers. Perhaps unsurprisingly, certain details of the design that had been agreed with one contract manager were not picked up by another, eventually necessitating on-site re-work. And at each handover, what had been agreed and why needed re-explaining. The re-work is entirely invisible and there was no additional cost but obviously it all adds to the stress. There were also certain window options we were not made aware of which were changed late in the process i.e. top hung vs side hung. And getting clear answers about what can be suspended from under the central ridge, seemed more difficult that it should have been. Eventually we got to the right place and the inconveniences were dealt with on a 'no quibble' basis. So overall, a very strong 4 and an easy 5 with some minor improvements.

We are so pleased with our David Salisbury Orangery. Neil and his team where the best. The quality of his carpenters was truly amazing. They worked from early morning to late at night completing the main construction of the build in 10 days with a beautiful finish.

After much research we decided to purchase an oak orangery from David Salisbury. Our decision was based on the quality and uniqueness of their product, which whilst not being the cheapest was certainly the best we came across. The quality of the support, service and attention to detail by Ian (designer), Brian (builder) and Dave (joiner), and their teams, throughout the planning and construction phase, has been excellent and we are delighted with the resulting orangery which most certainly has that wow factor.

We cannot fault the build quality and design of the replacement orangery and although we had issues initially, they were all resolved amicably and in a timely manner.
Would recommend using David Salisbury again.

Absolutely fantastic overall experience. Starting with promotional materials illustrating the product through consultation with designer through build. Everything happen exactly on time which was amazing considering the supply chain problems in the global construction market. The quality of the materials used and the attention to detail is extraordinarily high. We could not have wished for a better service or better outcome and cannot recommend David Salisbury’s highly enough. Thank you.

We are absolutely delighted, thrilled, and ecstatic with our Orangery.
Our experience started with Ian Mitchell, a first class designer who came up with a more imaginative design than the other two companies we engaged. He was honest and helped us channel our ideas into a beautiful design that was kept within our budget. He explained the processes and instilled a sense of trust and confidence. This was followed by a factory visit to David Salisbury, and were delighted that Wes, the MD hosted our tour and reinforced our final decision to proceed with them.
Thereafter, Mandy was our Account Manager. Dan, our Project Manager addressed every query quickly and efficiently. Communication was excellent throughout.
We have to mention Dave R, our David Salisbury fitter who was outstanding. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, took great pride in his work and hard working. He always had time to answer or explain elements of the construction process.
The attention to detail and care around our property was hugely appreciated and noted daily.
The planning was straightforward and managed seamlessly by the David Salisbury team.
There was, of course, one or two odd snags but this was always dealt with quickly and without any bother.
We used a builder to carry out the ground works that mostly works on these structures (recommended by Ian the designer, and Dan).
This was a great choice as they knew what to expect, what was expected of them and communicated when necessary with the installation team.
We now have a Wow factor addition to our property that makes us smile every day !

We recently had an orangery from David Salisbury installed and it is everything we had hoped it would be and more. The overall quality and standard of finish is superb and has made a massive improvement to our house. The whole project has been handled extremely well by the David Salisbury team from the initial design consultant through to project management and implementation, they are really good to work with. The installation team were also brilliant and helped with design improvements at every stage. We are so pleased that we chose David Salisbury for this important addition to our property and we certainly have absolutely no hesitation in recommending David Salisbury to anyone in future.

As a summary - we’ve ended up with a top quality orangery, expertly fitted and designed in a way that is sympathetic and additive to the existing house and landscape. We’re delighted with the end result

However the journey was not completely smooth with David Salisbury. All aspects of the initial sales briefing, technical design, and then fit out were done to the highest levels – without a hitch. However the attention to detail on the administrative and logistical aspects fell short of expectations on several occasions
• Repeatedly spelling our name wrong – even when corrected
• Twice sending correspondence to the wrong council with regard to planning permission and building regs – even when corrected
• Errors in the final planning application which should have been avoided, but could have been easily rectified if we’d been given an opportunity to review
• No direct communication with our builder, he was left wondering a couple of times exactly what was expected of him. These queries had to be resolved by site meetings or by us as “on site liaison” – there was certainly not the feeling of the unifying “project manager” which was original described in the sales process
• The relevant named contact seemed to move for different points of the process – there wasn’t a single person which stayed with us as primary contact throughout the process
• The promised “port-a-loo” for the use of our local builders never turned up – even when I asked several times

Each of these points are minor, but they compound each other. Every one of them could have been easily avoided if the administrative and project team worked at the same attention to detail to the technical and engineering teams.

David Salisbury were excellent, guiding us all the way through from planning to installation of our orangerie.

Jilly, our planning consultant was outstanding to win us planning approval in a conservation area.
Amy in the office was our key point of contact and always willing to clarify points liaise with our project manager Kevin or handle minor issues.
The quality of the building itself was exceptional, delivery on schedule despite global shortage of building materials, experienced installation team, who were very good but could have been a bit tidier at end of each day.

A few practical implications could have been explained earlier in the process eg potential for water ingress against a porous Cotswolds stone cottage wall , but this was handled well on site.

Ensuring you have a good builder is essential as the interior is far from finished once installation is done.

All in all we are very pleased with the company and would certainly recommend them to others

We are very pleased with the Orangery and genuinely impressed with the whole David Salisbury team, with a special call out to Neil who went above and beyond in terms of work ethic, skill and professionalism. Outstanding!

The whole experience of the concept to the build of our new Orangery was carried out with professionalism, craftmanship, enthusiasm, quality and pride. We are extremely please with the final product. Better than we expected.

We used David Salisbury to design a replacement for our old conservatory and build an orangery on the existing walls.
They are a very professional firm and we were very happy with the process through design, planning and construction phases.
Very happy also so far with the resulting building which is a much higher quality and useable building compared to the Amdega conservatory it replaced.
