Shame I cannot put 0 stars. Where do I start. I was with DFH around a year ago for about a year which was the worst decision of my life. In relations to charges you pay for them to maintain the DMP, it is atrocious. I was paying £100 a month and half of that was going to them instead of my creditors. My total debt was around £7.8k and for them to manage the debt, my total was over £13k meaning I would be paying them £5231 overall which is more than half my actual debt. As a vulnerable customer which quite extensive mental health needs, DFH sells you a dream. Already suffering from anxiety and paranoia, I just wanted the constant letters, emails and calls to stop and this is what they promised. That promise fell short. I was still receiving constant contact from my creditors regarding my debts but mainly due to the lack of communication and payments from DFH. Now I’m paying them a lot of money to do their job and they wasn’t.
Due to this, I spoke with a free service who were absolutely brilliant. They spoke through my options and suggested a DRO would be most suitable and they provided all the possible negative consequences of a DRO.
The moment DFH caught wind I was speaking to a company that was recommended by my housing provider, that’s when they put the threats on regarding closure of the DMP and including the terminology of my creditors sending bailiffs to my home. Now as a very anxious person normally, this provided even more fear and I was so scared to even open the door. They proceeded steps to close my account without my permission until I confirmed that I wanted to close my account after being pushed into the corner of accepting a DRO. I’m not a financial advisor but the DRO was the best decision of my life. I am now debt free a year later due to the considerate advisor I spoke with who was with me every step of the way and made everything so easy.

If I can give any advice, avoid this company like the plague. They are money grabbing, inconsiderate and selfish people who care only for the money and not helping the individual.

I wanted to set an IVA originally and they told me that they will do it and led me on for two years. Then they suggested to put me on a debt management plan. I did ask them to put me on IVA and in the end they told me they do not do IVA. They led me to believe they do IVA and took my money for two years. Very horrible to not give me an answer straight away and lied to me

Just had my second review for the financial year to come and what an amazing experience very professional very polite down daily listen to you and I'm on track with my debitors nomore phones calls or letters letters I I get used to say thank you for payment this is what you've paid this is what you owe that is it many of things again to Andy and the remaining staff

I have had an issue with a debtor and I have had numerous calls and emails with yourselves for about a year after my agreement with you finished. Your aftercare and help has been second to none. You have tried everything to help me and eventually the other party admitted they made an error. I thank you for your service as you have always put me at ease and nothing has been too much trouble. Wow! DFH were great managing my debts, negotiating with my creditors and even helped out with no worries when I needed some time to make the payment to them. Great service, friendly and supportive staff and an awesome experience. Highly recommended.

I was completely confused and stressed about my debts and rang them after doing a quick google, I was completely took advantage of , I was with them for over a year and the majority of my payments have gone e too them not my creditors, yes this is my fault but was worried at the time that I would do anything to keep the wolf from the door , I’ve since rang Citizens’s advice and the national debt helpline who have advised me that you should never pay for a debt management plan , they are brokers and feed off people’s misfortune, please contact citizens advice as they will advise you of a free service and give you sound advice

I was struggling financially, so I looked for help online and found their offer to assist me. They actually make my situation worse. Some of the loans were not being paid by them. I need to work additional shifts quickly to pay off some of my debts while they were still deducting 311£ from my monthly income. All of the statements they will give you are false. I stopped them, they called me and tried to convince me that everything would be sorted out, and I started believing them again. No action taken. Then I came to a halt. Customer ref number is 428615.

I am dissatisfied by their service, monthly payment offer had not been accepted by my creditor, i was asked to stopped making payments and then left me with missed payment for two months. They were only concerned about their commission not putting my welfare into consideration. Bad service overall.

DFH have helped me in ways I never expected. They keep regular contact and send regular updates. They are reassuring and make you feel completely at ease. Any problems or worries I had They were an email or a phone call away every time. I am truly grateful for all the help from everyone involved with my plan at DFH.

Finally had money to settle my balances&dfh did all the negotiations to close my accounts &now I can move in with my life& look forward to the future.

Hopefully after a bumpy start things are getting better especially now a different team are looking after my account

The agent I spoke to Stacey today about getting a settlement was nothing but friendly and helpful. Explained my options clearly and prompt with responding. Highly recommend for anyone struggling financially.
