Very poor service from a flawed system

Signed up for the update service and thought everything was OK until I applied for a new job only to be told that I was not on the service. I rang DBS and they told me that my payment had failed and they had sent me an email to tell me this.
Clearly this did not happan or I would have sent the payment.
I sent a complaint only to be told that they could not tell me why my payment failed and that the email reminder had been sent and that it was my responsibility to ensure that these emails did not go into the spam folder. When I asked what email address the reminder had been sent from it was a completely different address than all of the other correspondance. Having been told that I should put these addresses in my safe contact list I wonder how am I supposed to do that when I was not aware that this email address existed as it had never been used before.
They are very unhelpful and do not seen to realise the impact of these delays.

Is there any way I can give no star to…

Is there any way I can give no star to this useless service. I was offered a job. Since November 7th my DBS got stuck at stage 4 police check. I am 100 perfect sure I have no convictions, no warning, nothing. My previous DBS expired and unfortunately I didn't do the update service. I am left with no income, unable to provide my my children and bills pilling up because I couldn't start the job due to DBS delay. To make matter worse, no customer service to speak to. Today is 28th of December, since on the 7th of November my application has not moved on, it is at stage 4( police search).

Not fit for purpose.

This is not fit for service waiting for enhanced DBS still waiting after months and no comms between me or them they need a whole shake up

5 months wait

in april / may 2023 i applied for a enhanced dbs got it oct 2023 luckily my employer new my history as i had been completely transparent . fast forwards to jan 2025 needed a new dbs for a new job as before i was transparent and showed my previous dbs to perspective employer and they offered me a job still. i should have started 24th fed but no dbs and no way to talk to any one as they just tell you to check on the web site. i need my check to be experdited by the police as still stuck on stage 4 if this again takes another 5 months i will lose my job offer and even if i find another job il have to wait 5 months again no wonder this country cant get carers its disgraceful. if its down to the police who are a goverment entity they should be screaming at them to pull their fingers out and do these checks after all its all on computer isnt it ?

Disgusting service

Disgusting service and use of information. I had a DBS that came through and applied for the update service only to have a letter of a new conviction. I spoke to customer service who couldn't tell me what the conviction was that my DBS is now void and that I'm no longer on the update service so I'm not able to be employed or unsafe to work in my profession because of these changes. I'll have to apply for another DBS. We are paying for incompetent people handling data they know nothing about and they don't seem to fully understand the system and the policy they use.

There needs to be a change to this service because as you can see there are no positives to this service. This is because it is not competent at all and it has been like this for years. You need to change.

Disgraceful, disgusting, diabolical service

Four months , 21K incurred lost income, financial hardship, no enhanced certificate in sight, zero customer service by impolite imbeciles , zero continuity, cant be found on their system , cant log onto system, police blame DBS , DBS blame police , pathetic excuse for a government department , who leave people facing suspicion as employers struggle to believe a check could take so long. Incredulous , idiotic, shambolic company , please do not dare blame it on name change , maiden name to married name does not take that long to check , to top it off it off you managed to complete basic check within a week using the same details . I WANT COMPENSATION NOW!!!

Absolutely disgusting the way the guy spoke to me

Wow. . Absolutely disgusted. Spoke to a guy regarding my dbs update service as I was having technical problems. His mannerism was absolutely vile! He was extremely rude, telling me the certificate doesn't need updating just send the details to my employer and give it to them.
The way he was speaking to me was damn right rude. This was my first time ringing about a problem. This guy shouldn't be working . I have never ever ever had anyone talk to me the way he did!
Would like him reported. My call was today at 1 30 pm!

Absolutely crap service- whole thing is…

Absolutely crap service- whole thing is money making scam for this so called pathetic government. Was told my update service was due for renewal and not to do anything as payment will be taken automatically however they could not collect payment but not bothered to let me know so have to apply for another certificate at full cost as now expired. Snotty call centre advisor said its not out responsibility - so dont bloody send emails stating payment will be taken automatically!!! In comparison a friends dbs when she logs in to say she is subscribed it wont let her in to see what payment method is used and she cant see payment taken either from bank account so how are you supposed to know if yor payment is still valid… bloody useless - survived all these years without dbs then some idiot in top office comes up with this money making scheme!!!! Theives!!!

Utterly atrocious. Unable to login to this website whatsoever. Totally dysfunctional. It must be the worst website out there. How can a government website be this poor and how has our money been allowed to be squandered in this way? Shocking.

poor quality DBS application process

I have been trying to get a DBS since April 2022, and we are now in September 2022 I am still with no DBS, and this is my 5th application that is still on stage 4, they say there is a query to confirm all my names used and dates. I have done that countless times and after 28 days they withdrew my application and UCHECK which is cosigner would ask my employer to tell me to fill in another form, I have now filled in 5different application forms since April 2022
in August 2022, I made a complaint to find out what was going on, the reply was shocking, my details were completely wrongly recorded in the DBS system even though I informed them that my personal details were wrong, DBS did nothing, UCHECK wouldn't even talk to me, they kept on referring me to my employer and my employer would send me back to contact UCHECK, and this is how it has been, I spent hours on the phone, I am exhausted. I am not sure if I should seek legal action, this situation is training me out. I have just been admitted to the hospital because of this stress. I have never seen anything like this, the complaint was pointless, as my issue was overlooked, I have been out of work since April but no one seems to care

DBS has reached new level of terrible

DBS has reached new level of terrible. So, they ask you to create account in order to see certificate, they do not send you activation email, and there is NO option to RESEND, and each time you try to ask for help they tell you that you need to activate account.
