Two stars only because I am so happy to be rid of Divvy. Broken kitchen sink for months, no heat upstairs due to poor vents, and I had to pay $300 for trash removal because the garage was full of trash on my move in day. I was told this would be gone at the walk through and when I contacted Divvy, there was no response. Broken tvs, old mattresses, and broke down camping gear. As for the sink, it eventually backed up in the tub and my father ended up paying for a competent plumber. Divvy sent the same plumbers twice and no results. I am lucky I did not buy as I don't feel they are good for business. I ended up in a better home and I thank God it's over.
I am writing to express my profound disappointment and concern regarding my recent experience with Divvy. Your mission statement emphasizes accessibility, equity, and diversity, yet my family has faced significant risk of homelessness due to your company's actions. The callous disregard we encountered, particularly the response of "good luck to you and your family" when trying to settle this balance, is deeply troubling.
The entire process has felt like a bait and switch. Promises of a move-in ready property were not met, and critical remediation work was delayed for months. This has placed an overwhelming financial burden on my family, one that we are struggling to bear. Your team's failure to uphold commitments and the gaslighting we experienced have only added to our distress.
Furthermore, the predatory practices have placed underprivileged families like mine at even greater risk. By failing to honor commitments and providing misleading information, you perpetuate a cycle of instability for those already facing financial challenges. This behavior reflects a systemic issue that must be addressed to protect vulnerable communities.
I urge HUD to investigate these practices to ensure that all families receive fair and equitable treatment in their pursuit of housing stability.
total waste of time and money. total lie, false advertising. Don't waste your time. They sell you a dream to apply them smash it with high requirements, and offerings of partnered service to just continue to rob you of your dreams.
We rented from Divvy for 3 years in their rent to own program. It has been the worst experience of our lives. The initial process to get in the home went smoothly however things quickly went downhill. The vendors they use to repair items do shoddy work and it takes 3-4 months to actually repair anything. We were without use of our 2nd bathroom for more than 4 months- NO OFFER FOR RENTAL ADJUSTMENT and on top of that we had to have expensive equipment in there running up our electric bill, no offer to cover this expense even though it was due to their negligence. After more than 2 years in the home Divvy changed their reporting agency marking my account as closed and dropping my credit over 100 pts!!! 6 months before we are supposed to purchase the home making it where we were not able to get a mortgage! When it came to the end of the 3 years Divvy would not renew our lease so we either had to buy or move. We accrued 16,123 through their savings program and they agreed to take the final months rent from this. They wanted us to be out of the home in the middle of May but pay for the full month. We were not able to finish moving by their time frame so they filed an eviction, we answered the eviction and a court date was set. 10 days BEFORE the court date they went to the home ILLEGALLY changed the locks with our belongings inside. We contacted them trying to regain our belongings and was denied. We went to court and came to a mutual dismissal agreement to have our savings money returned and now they are trying to go against that and not return what they agreed to! Considering filing a civil case at this point as my tenant rights were violated and they are not keeping the agreement made. Their reason? According to their lawyer his fees nearly doubled because we left a negative review, and the company asked him to respond. DONT GO THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, RENT FROM A RESPECTABLE LANDLORD AND BUILD YOUR CREDIT TO BUY!
DO NOT associate with this company, do not purchase, do not rent. They are horrible. They own a home in Hulen Heights that they let squatters take over and left the pool in the backyard half full. The squatters have been gone for months but Divvy Homes has done NOTHING to clean up the mess. The front yard grass is 2' tall. The home has not been maintained for months. The pool is now a breeding ground for mosquitos and we just had our first West Nile report two blocks from this home at 8041 Pretoria Place, Fort Worth, Texas 76123. This management company has no regard for the health and safety of the residents in our neighborhood. Numerous neighbors have called code compliance and nothing has been done. BEWARE!!! You do NOT want them in your neighborhood!!
this Divvy organization is the worse. It is fine as long as nothing goes wrong. But in my case, I was not able to dock my bike after a 10 minute ride. I still don't understand why is was not possible, but there was no connection between the bike and the docking station. I immediately contacted the chat function for some help. But all they could tell me was that I had to try again. At the end ( after 100+ times trying) I had to leave the bike at the docking station. In the chat they wrote me that they would end the ride and I could get a refund. But instead, I had to pay $110 because I did use the bike for 24 hours! and after that I get another fine of $270 because I did not return the bike. There is absolutely no proper service. I showed them the complete chat I had on that day, but they still keep on telling me that I had to return the bike. It is mad making.
Horrible experience! Believe the negative reviews! This company is more for money than citizen's safety!
Don't waste your time with this company! They don't care to help people! They say help people who have a hard time which is a lie.

Divvy is selling a home in our neighborhood and hands out the code to get the key to anyone that calls. This is what happened next door to the home I live in and own. Then, after a few people got in the box and took the key, they changed the lock, ansked the mailman (in front of me) for a change of address, and now they are squatting in the house and cops can’t evict them. Having pool parties, smoking something that smells like week I. Front of my house, two dogs, and a baby, and DIVVY is taking no responsibility for it and leaving me to deal with fights next door to where I live.
I never heard of divvy found out through a family member. I needed to move asap didn’t want to just rent and pay someone else’s mortgage I wanted my own. In a matter of 1 week i was assisted and moved in. It’s so hard to find a lease to own. I would recommend divvy to others.

Hello, I have only one thing to say when it comes to divvy do not rent from them/Buy a home. My story is long but I’ll keep it simple and short divvy will say they working with you but it’s quite the opposite they will have you in court after a missed payment on the rent. They also do not have the rent set up where you can put little amounts at a time if you do fall behind. I fell on hard times it’s actually the first time I ever went through this and I explained it to divvy but they did not care and they had me in court not once but twice. Honestly I was told so many good things about divvy but that’s what your going to do when you work for them and I was tricked big time. I thought they wanted to help me but they didn’t want to not at all. If I could go back I wouldn’t do anything different because I was able to go through this I can share what I went through with other people and warn them so they don’t go through it to. Divvy is not the way to go and I don’t need a response from divvy at all and I don’t even want a apology but the truth of the matter is if divvy sets up the rental portal where you can put money as you go instead of letting it get so big to make you look like your not putting anything they going to keep having people in court and this makes them look bad because they don’t help their tenants they make it harder. I don’t recommend and anyone else who have went through this you will get through it trust me.

It’s was a easy and fast process and I’m loving the house and space that I have now. Had one little problem with the water email the company and they emailed me back with in 30 mins and let me knew that they received my email and let me know wen someone would be out to address the problem
I do not recommend!!! They raise the rent and they don’t like to fix anything. It’s hard to speak with a live person and they do not return calls, emails, or text messages.
Not being able to get anything resolved is a concern. My portal still have me owing an amount that has already been paid. Not being able to speak with someone is also a concern. I've sent several emails in regards to concerns identified in the home, no one has contacted me.
Divvy are slum lords they never fix anything a tornado came through and destroyed my carport and damaged my roof I made request to have the damaged repaired and they haven't repaired anything since I ve moved out at the end of August a whole 8 months and all I for was excuses I will never deal with them again or refer them to anyone and they must still not have made repairs becathey are selling the house only $1000 more than what they paid so you tell me what did they really do but was trying to charge me an additional $13000 if I would've stayed they are crooks don't trust them.
