We are a family run 3rd generation company that has been in operation for over 60 years. Originally founded by Frederick Doble, who started out as a general heating engineer and later purchased a small retail unit with his wife Wendy Doble to trade from as they could see the possibilities for expansion. This is where the empire started to grow and three moves later, expanding to larger premises the company is now run by their son Barry Doble who has had over thirty years’ experience in the bathroom industry. We have an unlimited amount of bathroom literature available for our clients, so please feel free to pick up brochures from our showroom or speak to one of our sales staff for advice when visiting our showroom. All our staff have a good knowledge of the retail and trade, giving us a huge advantage over our competitors who struggle in this field. The stocks we carry are vast, we supply items from the smallest "O" ring to the largest bathroom suite possible, most of which we can deliver the next working day with our fleet of vehicles (if situated within the M25). A bathroom is many things – a room to indulge and prepare you for the day ahead or a sanctuary for relaxing in after a day’s hard work. Terrible after sales support
I went into their showroom and was initially very impressed. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and I placed an order for my new bathroom.
When the things arrived, I quickly realised the shower tray wouldn't fit with my joists, despite having discussed this in the shop and been recommended this one. When I rang about swapping this one, I was told I'd have to pay a 25% stocking fee and the manager claimed to have no recollection of suggesting this one during our conversation. It then took over 6 weeks and numerous phone calls to actually get the refund for this.
I also said I wanted sanitary ware with no branding on. I ordered a basin and was told to get the toilet from the same range so that the porcelain matched so I did. When it came to fit these, the whites didn't match and both things had branding on them. I rang again and spoke to the manager who became very aggressive. He refused to do anything about this, again claimed not to remember our conversation in store and was generally incredibly rude and unprofessional, calling me rude and asking me what the point of my phone all was. When I queried that fact that neither the basin or toilet had branding in the showroom, I was told these were "old models". So they happily lied to me it seems.
I have never encountered a company so willing to take your money and then wash their hands of you afterwards. The main reason as I see it for going to smaller independent retailer is for their advice and after sales care. This place has neither - they don't stand by the advice they give you in store and their after sales care consists of being shouted at by the manager. I wouldn't order from here again, I wish I never had and had just found everything myself on line instead.
Terrible customer service
Absolutely horrific customer service and lying staff.
We ordered two items from them which they forgot to deliver and we had to chase them after a few weeks.
When the items arrived we realised one of them was the wrong size and wanted to exchange or return. When we asked to return the item we were told that it was a "special order" and therefore non returnable and that apparently we were told of this "by phone". This is a compete lye as the only phone conversation we had was to chase them for the items when they admitted they forgot to send them.....
The item was an off-the-shelf toilet flush so hardly a "special order"....
Completely rubbish, would never use these people again.
Great Experience
Ordered a Aqualisa Lumi 8.5kw shower on Sunday, price was the best I had seen online (up to £140 cheaper than from other retailers I had seen).
Arrived today (Wednesday) 3 days later. Checked over the delivery just and all looks fine ready to be installed in plenty of time.
Awful customer service
The website said next day delivery, and the company took my money. Two days later the invoice a visa payment receipt arrived, with no sign of my item. I phoned to chase to be told that it's a special order item, and will not be delivered for another week! Without calling them I would have had no idea of this.
Same item picked up from ScrewFix within half an hour, for not much more money, once Doble's delivery charges were taken into account (£10 for a couple of small shower fittings!).
This has caused a lot of extra hassle I didn't need when trying to get a bathroom job finished by the weekend.
Online ordering takes money but rejects sales contract
I recently tried to purchase a bath from them via their online e-commerce. The process went through with twice confirming that there is not delivery charge before finally taking full and immediate payment. However, after a few days I received a phone call to say that they did not wish to fulfil the order because I haven't been charged for delivery! It isn't like I tricked them into the situation, it was after all their online sales system which accepted my order and took immediate full payment. So, this company is happy for their system to take your order and full payment whilst they then ponder whether the goods should be supplied later. I even had email confirmation of the order and payment! To top it off, the refund was rather slow compared to when their system accepted payment. I know some companies T&Cs says orders are not confirmed until payment is accepted, but in this case it was full payment and then consider the order! Why would you buy from such an organization when there are so many other better and cheaper competitors.
Complete bathroom suite obtained
My builder used Doble Bathrooms to purchase the complete bathroom suite, Ideal Standard & Bauhaus. This was very big order since contained bath, all fixtures, towel warmer, heated mirror and even little bits like hooks.
Project timeline was critical for me, so I was looking for supplier who can deliver in limited time. Communication was good and we were told in advance which items are in stock and will be delivered within week, and some less critical will be delivered later.
We've received the order all fine & correct. The only slight complaint is that core items weren't delivered within week as promised, but in 11 days, causing some anxiety that bathroom won't be ready in time.
Certainly best Ideal Standard supplier out there, great stock, online store & prices.
Quality product, good price, fast service.
I ordered a Kaldewei shower tray on the 27th March and it arrived on the 2nd April. I had a few technical questions before buying which the staff answered. Communication regarding delivery was good (although delivery cost quite high at £95). The product was £150 cheaper than I could get it locally, even taking into account delivery cost.
In summary, a good price for a quality product, helpful, knowledgeable staff, good communication and fast delivery. I would definitely use this site again.
