Excellent Service
From start to finish, the buying experience at Driven was excellent. The sales team struck the perfect balance with no pressure, just helpful answers when I had questions, and the freedom to browse at my own pace.
Although I was a bit disappointed with the part-exchange value, this was due to a previous overvaluation at a different dealership, and not Driven’s fault.
The car I purchased is fantastic — it drives beautifully and has exceeded my expectations so far.
What really impressed me was that two minor issues I had noticed were already fixed before I even had the chance to mention them.
Jason was especially brilliant, always available and supportive throughout the process.
I’ve already recommended Driven to others and wouldn’t hesitate to do so again!

Awful service
Awful service, they were in a rush to leave as I arrived around 5 past 5 (they knew I was coming) and it closed at 5.30. Manager told my partner they’d help with the tax once it had been paid for, the guy just asked me to sign 2 forms and sent me away with the car.
Would not recommend.

Thank you for your review. It is a shame you felt that way. We mentioned to the finance company that we did shut at 5:30pm and normally finance companies payment runs are 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm, which would have been after our hours of shutting so the timing of payment was down to them and not us. There was a risk of the money not hitting our account before 5:30pm.
They did put the money into our account at 5:28pm but when we shut at 5:30pm it may have felt that you were rushed from your point of view, however our sales team are contracted to 5:30pm and after that it is up to them if they want to stay any longer as they have their own lives and families to get back to, some travelling as far as Rotherham.
Apologies you felt this way but our paperwork is only 2 forms to sign, so there is not a lot to sign once the money was in, our handovers last no more than 5 minutes, unless a customer wants to be shown the controls of the vehicle then it can take up to 30 minutes. We have been in the industry for well over 40 years and we know customers want to be in and out as soon as they can.
This response might read as funny or taken in anyway but we have opening hours for a reason and it is difficult when dealing with 3rd party finance companies because we are working on there terms.
Once again, apologies you felt rushed or experienced a bad service.

I bought a Range Rover Evoque in…
I bought a Range Rover Evoque in February 2025, unfortunately in August I encountered an issue the car needed a new DPF, I contacted driven of York as I had owned the car less than 6 months, without question they asked me to bring the car back for them to investigate and fix the issue. My car was took back 8/8/2025 and picked it back up 15/8/2025 with all issues fixed. Both Ryan & Tom kept me up to date all week with when my car would be ready to collect.
Fantastic service from purchasing the car right along to 6 months down the line.
Would definitely recommend and I would certainly use this garage again for any further purchases.

Great experience thanks to amazing staff
From start to finish the staff were very friendly and supportive. Max especially had a lot of patience for us and was very knowledgable when helping purchase our ideal car. I purchased a car from here and as soon…
I purchased a car from here and as soon as I left smoke poured out, went back and was advised that it was because it had been sitting in the garage on not used. Fast forward to now and the DPF filter had been duck taped up and now I have the car in limp mode and will cost thousands to repair.

Avoid
Do not buy a warranty from this garage. The warranty is from auto guard and they are refusing to repair my drive shaft when it clearly states it on the list of things covered.
Absolute fraudsters who are willing to take £500 and not at all willing to pay out.

Thank you for your email, however we feel this review should be with the warranty company and not us. Correct in that we supply a 3rd party warranty, however after the first 6 months it is not our choice on what can be covered, you have owned the car for a year.
We have looked into your claim that was submitted by the LR Specialist to the warranty company and it isn't the Driveshaft that has failed, it is the support bearings that have failed. Unfortunately bearings are not covered after 70k miles due to wear and tear and your car has now carried out 74k miles, bearing in mind you bought the car at 62k miles. This is clearly stated in your warranty booklet.
Sorry you felt this way but this is not Driven Of York's fault and we respectfully ask you to remove this review.

Stay away from this dealer
I’d like to give zero stars but that’s not an option.
Eleven months ago we purchased our 2018 Landrover Discovery from DRIVEN OF YORK.
In December 2024 whilst collecting out severely disabled son from school the automatic gear box failed leaving us stranded. We made attempts to contact the dealership for support however they diminished any element of responsibility offering no support, good will or any level of empathy, leaving us with no other option but to pay for the repair ourselves costing in total £5500. Not but two days later after the gear box repair the cars turbo failed on the motorway leaving myself stranded with my disabled son. Further contact was made with the dealer to request some assistance with no avail. Leaving us with a further bill of £2500. Since this repair we have been advised by the repairing garage that the turbo failure has caused damage to the engine requiring a full engine replacement.
Now £8000 in and with £400 a month in car finance we are left with nothing more than an expensive garden ornament and no way to transport our son.
We are aware what the legal requirements are in terms of warranty however nobody expects to buy a car from what is assumed to be a reputable dealer to be left in this position.
Driven of York from our own painful experience are clearly retailing sub-standard cars. As a family we would hate for anyone else to experience something similar and stress people should avoid purchasing vehicles from this business.

We are sorry you feel this way. As with everything there is always 2 sides to a story.
We would like to point out you purchased the vehicle in January 2024, and had completed over 11k miles in the vehicle before you had experienced an issue with your car.
The first time you had a fault with the car you took it to a garage to get the car repaired on 21/1/25 where the warranty paid £1200 towards the bill. Within a week you the issue arose again, which was a faulty repair by a garage of your own choosing and you deemed this to be our fault with a significant bill left.
You then came to our dealership shouting and being threatening towards members of staff, you were asked to leave politely several times where you went out the showroom and stood out the front door and warned customers off to not purchase from ourselves, to which even a customer said "that is your problem not ours" when they came to collect a car. it got to the stage where the police was called and you then went to your car.
You came back inside shortly after trying to be amicable, where we are happy to help customers who show this to start with and not threatening and abusive behaviour, asking if there is anything we can do to help out. We offered you over 50% discounted price of the 1yr warranty with a £3k claim limit, which we would retail for £699, we sold to you for £300 to help you with claiming some of the cost of the bill from the warranty company.
7/3/25 the warranty company paid £2050 to your 2nd garage you had chose.
Recently you contacted the finance company to put forward a complaint against us, we provided our evidence however you didn't provide any evidence and the case was closed.
Again, apologies you feel this way however we have helped out more than some garages would in this instance.
