Despite being a loyal customer who uses Chase bank for the convenience of paying my Chase credit card and mortgage payments on time, I have been consistently hit with excessive service fees. Despite my efforts to address this issue with the bank, they have failed to provide a satisfactory resolution. This lack of consideration for account holders is disappointing and reflects poorly on Chase's commitment to customer service. I urge others to be cautious when choosing to bank with Chase, as their disregard for account holder concerns is unacceptable.

Made a payment to another bank account in MY NAME and it was held for potential fraud.
Then spent over 30 minutes on the telephone being questioned as to why I was making the payment.
Tried to explain that it was a transfer to another bank account in MY NAME but they obviously work off a script and continued to ask inane questions.
What is interesting is that, according to my app, the money has been taken out of my account and yet they refused to make the payment to my other account immediately.
If they believe it's fraudulent, why not put the money back into my account?
Will be closing my account with them immediately!

I have had an account with Chase bank for quite a few years now. On 31 October 23 I tried to log into my account to check my balance. For the first time ever, I had to have a numerical code sent to my email in order to sign into my account. I was not happy about the extra aggravation, but I used the numerical code and signed into my account.
I was immediately greeted with a screen that asked if I wanted to continue in future with "2 step" verification or authentication. I thought, What?! Are you out of your mind??? My response was HELL NO! I do not need ANY extra work or aggravation in my life simply to to benefit YOU!!!! I have a user name and password. That is ENOUGH as far as I am concerned. I then completed my task and logged out.
Later in the day, I logged back in in order to set up a new payee with Zelle (payee initials N.C.). Afterward, I sent the payee $126, but the bank cancelled the payment. I sent it a second time, and the bank again cancelled the payment with no explanation other than "suspicious activity." I was furious. Believe me, the hatred I felt for Chase bank at this point already was beyond measurement.
They just made a liar out of me to the payee. I promised the payee I would send the payment on 31 October 23 and they would have it on 01 November 23. Now, I had to explain to the payee that the bank was not letting me send the payment with no other explanation than "suspicious activity." I felt like an idiot with zero credibility.
I ended up giving the payee, N.C., a paper cheque on , and six days later, I am STILL locked out of my account.
The b*stards asked me to provide my debit card number, PIN, address, and to correctly answer 5 "security questions." I did all of this, and they STILL would not unlock my account. They then had the temerity to ask me "why" I wanted to give $126 to payee N.C. I told them it was none of their bloody business why I wanted to give $126 to this payee or to any other payee. That is my private, personal business!! What in hell makes them think I have to explain to them why I want to send money to anyone?!! They are actually trying to stop me from using my own money as I see fit. Unbelievable!!!!
At one point last week, I complained to their executive offices about all of this and had one of their people, a young man named Brandon, on a call with me and another man in the bank's "fraud department." Brandon gave the other man some sort of code, apparently to prove who he was. If this was not so ridiculous and infuriating it would be funny....
Brandon told this other man that he had verified who I was and that they needed to unlock my account. The other man said he wanted to "help me," but he could not speak to me with someone else on the call. This was THEIR OWN EXECUTIVE OFFICE for heaven's sake!!!!!! Brandon then had to hang up the phone.
I then was left with the man in the fraud department who then wanted to send a f**king "code" to my phone in order to proceed. I told him I did not have a phone to send a code to. He then said he could not help me if I could not receive a code to my phone.
I was/am angry beyond words. I HATE THIS BANK, AND I HATE ON-LINE BANKING. Using a bank should not be this aggravating under ANY circumstances.
I am now looking into doing business with a different bank. However, this was the straw that broke the camel's back with on-line banking. I have said for years that this push toward "papeless" everything was insane, and this proves it beyond a doubt. They do not want to send. back our cheques. They say paper is not "sustainable." Really? Then why in the hell is all the marketing crap they send us in the post "sustainable?" They are LYING to us. These banks are controlled by a relative few very rich people who are screwing over the rest of the population.
The banks no longer want anyone to use paper. They want you to go "paperless," which I hate, but after they force you into this position, this is the sort of thing they do to you in the name of "security." It is WRONG. It is positively Orwellian.
I plan to use only paper cheques from now on. I am DONE with on-line banking. I have no words adequate to describe the white hot hatred I feel for banks anymore. Banks are operated by paranoid schizophrenics now, and I want nothing to do with the sick b*stards. The very idea that they have some sort of "right" to ask me why I want to send money to ANYONE is beyond belief, and to lock me out of my account for nearly a week now is totally unacceptable.
Chase, I would sign your death warrant without blinking an eye. I HATE YOU. You are not a trustworthy business. You have no interest in serving me, your customer. All you care about is protecting your. bottomline, and it has gotten so outrageous at this point as to be unbelievable. I do NOT owe you a bloody explanation as to why I want to send money to ANYONE. How DARE you b*stards expect me to tell you this in order to access my own f**king money!!!!

Attempted to use my Chase debit card to fill up but card refused as soon as put pin in BUT I do have funds in the account. Then proceeded to fill car up & paid with Halifax card - job done. Chase though have kept the £120 authorisation pending & won’t give it back until 30 days has expired even despite me showing them the evidence I paid by Halifax. They want proof I didn’t spend it on their card but I don’t have any as no proof was handed to me. They can’t force a reversal only after 30 days. If I’d known I would have taken a photo but it doesn’t make sense. The complaints team have just called me & confirmed nothing can be done & offered me £10 compo. Jog on !! So I’m now £120 down for the next 30 days ! My petrol cost me £56 but wasn’t expecting another £120 on the top !!

If I could give them no stars I would. They have lost over £600 in a transfer. Then you find out that their customer services are in the Philippines and are worse than useless. When I asked for details of their investigation process the response I got was that it involves pressing buttons!! I will be closing my account once this matter is resolved snd advise those used to the British and European banking system to not lower their standards.

Chase's legal dept won't release funds to survivors
Our checking and savings accounts are with Chase and they have been managed well.
However, our cousin who passed away also banked with Chase and we are listed as survivors and are to inherit some of his estate. Chase has refused to release the funds even when given a COURT ORDER from Probate. The attorney for our cousin's account and the probate lawyers are asking Chase's legal department to tell them what the reason for the holdup is, but Chase wants to hold on to the money and REFUSES to tell them anything. The legal department refuses to speak to them.
This behavior is unconscionable - and Chase prolongs the grieving and difficulties of the remaining family with this obstinate, uncooperative behavior.
It is a tiny estate, yet Chase will not work with the attorneys who are in the process of pursing a contempt of court judgment against Chase.

Very Poor Customer Service
Very poor customer service as they use off-shore agents with heavily accented English that is very hard to understand. Applying for a new credit card is way harder than it should be. An agent called me a 5:10 A.M. and left voice mail that could not be understood as she talked so fast in broken English. Awful, stupid and frustrating.

Best customer service I have ever experienced from a bank! You can even talk to them directly on Chat, though your app, as it is secure, no password needed etc and you can message them in your own time, they just come back to you as soon as they can, usually within a few hours! No calling, holding, 1000 passwords etc.. Best bank every.

What a disappointment the Chase App is after all the hype. You need an Android 8.1+ which a lot of us don't have and can't afford to upgrade to. And the feedback about functionality, opening an account etc isn’t pretty whether you look at the MSE forums or the Chase App itself - and this Trustpilot site has 14 x 5 star reviews all from "Pete" which all seem like marketing speak.
