Absolute rip off
Absolute rip off. Once you take away the inclusives in the program, you are paying $640 a day for group ski training. At my resort you pay far less for a full day private ski lesson. My advice is, get a job at a resort and pay for private lessons yourself. EA will you rob you blind.

This is a unique advantage, as it’s unlikely for a first-year instructor applying directly to a resort to gain both qualifications and practical experience in such a short time.
Additionally, the program offers valuable networking opportunities, allowing you to connect with industry professionals and peers, which can significantly benefit your career in ski instruction.
The program pricing also includes essential services like visa support, travel assistance, certification, job placement, and operational costs. These inclusions add substantial value, making the overall experience far greater than just group lessons. As such, calculating the price per day of group training doesn’t fully reflect the broader benefits, including qualifications, work experience, and networking opportunities.

Best combination of travel, fun and improvement
The experience as its own is as good as is listens. I did the mountainbike course and the area is the absolute dream for outdoor things. The people from EA (all that ive Met) were all super nice and friendly. They really do care about u as an participant.

Easy ski season
Educating adventures made it really easy for me to sort out my whole ski season. From them helping me from sorting what resort to be in to VISA applications etc. I really recommend them if you would want to do a ski season with personalised ease.

I have never had worse experience in my…
I have never had worse experience in my life. I am still unsure about where my money went to. I feel like I overpaid to only receive threats to get even worse conditions if I complain. With the ski school giving me no jobs I now have no money to pay for my accommodation and food, I also have no access to kitchen to cook and save money. There is no rep and no one to help me. I feel lost in a foreign country and the company doesn't do anything to help. Thanks for nothing. I could have easily gotten a job anywhere without overpaying for a program that does nothing and give me the same/worse experience than regular employees here.

We understand that adjusting to a new country and work environment can be challenging, and we strive to support our trainees as much as possible throughout this transition. We’re sorry to hear that you haven’t received as much work as you expected. We aim to provide the most accurate information prior to the season in terms of expected working hours. This is based on past seasons and ski school expectations, however sometimes due to seasonal factors, e.g. weather or general business levels, this can change and it’s not something we can control. EA Ski & Snowboard Training has worked hard to advocate for participants and we understand the ski school has provided additional hours / other work opportunities. As you may be aware, we did respond to requests earlier in the season for a change to accommodation. To address this, we worked alongside the ski school to ensure everyone was placed into the accommodation requested, which includes access to most meals at a staff café. We take your concerns seriously and are actively reviewing your feedback to identify areas where we can improve. Our goal is for all participants to have a positive and rewarding experience, and we appreciate the opportunity to continue refining our support.

Amazing experience, Friends for life!
EA made my season in Cypress amazing, such a simple & efficient process from helping with the visa to helping me choose what location would work best for me! Living in Vancouver was great and and I have made some friends for life, it has set me up perfectly to pursue my career as an instructor and have already gotten a job at different location for next season!!

Japan Internship + with guaranteed work (Next to no Work or Pay)
My Son is up in Niseko (JP) on an internship + program (with guaranteed work and pay). He completed the Snowboard Lvl 1 course back in early Dec 2024, since then he has had close to No work and has NOT been paid yet. We paid a fortune for this course and he is just sitting around hoping for work each day...which is not happening.

As part of any Internship program, we are transparent that hours for first-year instructors can vary depending on factors like snow conditions, client demand, and the time of season. While some resorts may offer consistent full-time work, others provide a mix of part-time hours, freeride opportunities, and structured training. We understand this can be disappointing, but the program in Niseko your son is enrolled in is designed as a balance between a part-time work contract and additional training, which was clearly outlined. We remain committed to doing what we can to enhance his experience.
Currently, we are in an off-peak period in Japan, which has impacted available work hours. However, the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday typically brings higher demand, and we’re optimistic that more opportunities will open up soon. Additionally, if your son is interested in exploring work options beyond snowboarding instruction, we would be happy to help connect him with alternative opportunities.
We also want to highlight that the Level 2 training and additional certifications included in the program are designed to be conducted during these quieter periods. This balance allows participants to enhance their skills while still enjoying the incredible freeriding opportunities Niseko offers.
If you have any specific questions about the program or his schedule, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly. Julie and our team remains committed to supporting your son and ensuring he has the best possible experience during his time in Japan.

Avoid this company
On 7th January 2024, I paid a deposit to join into this companies season they are doing November 2024. The contract I “signed” stated I would be staying in an apartment with 3 other people sharing a bedroom with one other person, shared living quarters etc a TV a cost of $850 a month. I had no further update until I had paid a significant amount in contribution towards the cost of the course suddenly I was emailed to say the accommodation ‘had to be changed’ from an apartment to a hostel, instead I would now be staying a dormitory in bunk beds with 3 other people in each room, shared bathroom between the 4 of us, with the living quarter and kitchen being shared with the rest of the course of 40+ OTHER PEOPLE. Not only would staying there be a significant downgrade from an apartment but also the price was $400 MORE a month and for storage of my valuables for 6 MONTHS a small “cage” on the floor whilst the hostel allows access from all to the floor… not what I would describe ‘safe’. When questioned about this as I had now paid a significant amount of money and this no longer being what I signed up for I was told it’s the best option for the group to keep us all together and the cheapest option for them? Alternatively, I was told I can pay to have my own apartment at a cost of $2000 plus a month when looking on Craigslist etc. where do I start with their illworded and vague ‘terms and conditions’ which state they can change the accommodation for ‘like for like’ but an apartment to a hostel for $400 a month is not like for like at all. The company since I have told them I’m no longer wishing to go ahead with this and as they have not fulfilled the legal agreement I “signed” I say signed very loosely as their contract begins when you pay a $500 deposit! They have since offered other options all of which come with further changes as a way of getting more money, the alternatives offer reduced confirmed work which when the pay is unsatisfactory to begin no individual would be able to live comfortably. I have been refused any form of refund or re-embursement following cancellation for no reason of my own account, when questioned what my financial contributions actually cover I receive nothing but a sarcastic blunt response which ignores and avoids the question. Since saying I’m cancelling in which I did the 9th August they have continued to hound me with multiple emails “offering exclusive discounts” for the same price or offering Mountain bike courses… to again keep hold of my money. This company runs as a professional SCAM and therefore I strongly advice anyone looking into this company as a way of doing this kind of course to strongly avoid them. They make promises, take your money then change their contract therefore breaching the agreement arranged in hopes that you will drop out or put up and shut up, so they can keep your money and move onto the next group of people to scam.

As outlined during enrollment, accommodation specifics are based on the previous season and can be subject to change due to external factors. This year, the original property was no longer available due to redevelopment, which required us to secure alternative arrangements. We offered the hostel option to keep the group together, providing shared accommodations on a dedicated EA floor in a convenient downtown Vancouver location with easy access to shuttle services.
We also provided you with the flexibility to switch to another Canadian location or make your own arrangements. Many of our participants choose this option and find affordable alternatives by grouping with others on the program. Additionally, the course and training components remained consistent and of the high standard we aim to deliver across all locations.
We regret that these changes led to your decision to cancel. Our terms and conditions allow for adjustments in accommodation to ensure the continuity of the program. While we were unable to provide a refund after cancellation, we’ve offered options to transfer your payments toward another program or season in the future.
With over 400 participants successfully placed across five countries each year, we strive to deliver valuable experiences and stand by our commitment to transparency and professionalism. expensive but good
I really liked the program. I met a lot of new people with the same interests and everyone got along well which made it easy to find new friends.
Unfortunately the season in Turoa wasn't that good, which means there wasn't much snow or the weather wasn’t good enough to ski. The mountain was closed most days and we had indoor training instead.
The communication between the ski school and the program from EA to me could have been better sometimes, but in the end everything worked out.
It's very expensive but also worth the money if you want to become a ski or snowboard instructor in my opinion.

Amazing People
I had a really positive experience getting to know everyone in the program and helping each other out whether it was practicing ski techniques on the mountain on our non training days or just collaborating to make a delicious meal at the hostel. Overall, everyone was really supportive and I learned and experienced more than I could’ve imagined in only five weeks.

My daughter wanted to become a ski…
Disappointed and misled-not what was promised
My daughter enrolled in a ski instructor course before Covid advertised as coming with a guaranteed job.
It was a big commitment, both financially and emotionally, and we trusted the company’s promise.
However, when we visited her in Verbier, we were shocked to learn that she was mainly working in unrelated jobs because there simply wasn’t enough instructor work to go around.
After speaking with the local council it became clear that local instructors are given priority for the available roles- something we were never told before signing up.
It is deeply frustrating that glossy, expensive websites can lure young people into what turns out to be a course with unrealistic expectations.
The ski season is getting shorter and with climate concerns growing, this kind of international business model- with CEO flying from New Zealand to Europe to sell guaranteed ski jobs - feels irresponsible and out of touch.
Young people have limited resources, and they deserve transparency and honesty.
In our experience, this company failed to provide that.
Do not use this company!

While your daughter received everything outlined (including an instructor role in Verbier) – we do accept that the amount of instructional work she undertook was less than hoped during the 2017/18 winter season. As discussed with you and your daughter at the time; the number of hours of instructional work received is not guaranteed and depends on many factors. These include; ski school lesson demand, snow conditions, and participant performance, among others. Other course elements as per our inclusions (accommodation covered through until the end of the level 1 exam, training, social events, orientation etc etc) were all provided.
We do try to be very clear about this in our materials and information but acknowledge in your case we could have done better – we have continuously reviewed and improved this each year to ensure participants attend our programs with the right expectations. We have been operating for over 20 years now and are always trying to improve. It’s a shame for all involved that the amount of work was not as much as expected – and hope that this experience has still provided a foundation for future endeavours in the ski industry.

Amazing staff
My son participated in the 2024 snowboarding training course. He said it was an experience he would never forget. The staff and friends he met were all amazing people, and he built memories that would last him a life time. A big shout out to Julie Anderson, training consultant, who went out of her way (quite literally) on several occasions to help him when he lost his phone and money on the mountain and supported him through an injury. Thank you to everyone at EA, but a special thanks goes to Julie. I will always be grateful for her above-and-beyond support!
