Yesterday, I paid for two domains and one hosting solution. It has been 13 hours since I paid for the first domain and hosting solution, 7 hours since I paid for the second domain. Neither domain has been registered, and Nominet's lookup shows both domains as “not found” while other registrars list both domains as available, leaving these domains that I have paid for available to be taken by someone else.

I submitted two support tickets, the first more than 6½ hours ago, and the second marked ‘Urgent’ was submitted more than 4 hours ago. Neither ticket has received any response, and the domains remain available and unregistered.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that EcoHosting’s support has been extremely slow. They used to be good and provide prompt replies and solutions, but in the past months, support has been incredibly slow.

Since EcoHosting isn’t responding, my only option to secure the domains is to register them with another registrar. This is unacceptable.

Update:

After 7½ hours, EcoHosting eventually confirmed the domains were registered but gave no explanation for why two independently purchased domains failed.

Then I ran into the next issue. I attempted to install WordPress (something I have successfully done with 4 other domains also hosted at EcoHosting), but encountered repeated MySQL connection errors. I submitted a ticket explicitly asking them to fix it.

After exactly 11 hours and 2 minutes they got back to me but only to ask if I had used Softculous to install WordPress. Nothing else. I assume the question was merely to add ‘support activity’ to the ticket.

It has now been 15 hours since I submitted the ticket and no solution in sight.

This ordeal has now lasted more than 1½ days. Although the domains are finally registered, I still cannot use them, nor the webhosting I paid for.

Just settiling in at ecohosting and finding everything to be running very smoothly. User friendly interface with helpful guides and tips. Haven't needed customer support yet but heard from the gravevine that is smooth and helpful too.

I've just signed up to Eco Hosting, creating my first website. It took me just a few hours to get everything up and running including the launch of my newly designed website. Excellent stuff!

I've been with ecohosting for many years now and I will always give them 5 stars. I've never had an issue that they can't resolve. They are always quick to respond and help with whatever I need. They are very reasonably priced and I would recommend them to anyone needing hosting and domain services plus support along the way.

I really like that I can get hold of someone who knows what they are talking about prettty quickly. AI has been introduced that seems to be moderately helpful for more standard questions, but I was not forced to fight my way through yet another support "firewall". I was able to easily email my questions, and got an answer within 2 hours (on a Sunday). I believe it is the companies that understand that human support is important that will be the last one's standing...

We've been with Eco Hosting for some years now, and their Customer Service is professional, reliable and not aimed over the heads of non-techies. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a hosting company, as I have done already to at least two people!

Fully restored a large website in one day.

Company kept me informed on progress in solving fault.When it could not be solved at 1st line it was quickly handed to a more experienced engineer who speedily found the fault and sorted it.

Quick response to an issue sending emails to AOL account. Problem was sorted by support.

Eco Host over the past few years have been my Host service for a few websites. I have had very few issues that I couldn't deal with. The reponse times to fix any problems I could not solve from Eco Host have been very efficient.

The team at Eco Hosting are amazing! I have used other companies for hosting and they are not match for these guys. I have moved all my hosting for a number of sites to Eco Hosting and I won't move back! The support tickets are sorted quickly and nothing is a stupid question. The customer service is great too, and all the servers are UK based.

I was nervous about migrating my business hosting as it had been in place for a while and contained various tweaks which I no longer understood! However, these guys are professionals and assured me that they'd performed many migrations before. Anyway, long story short, they were true to their word - the migration was done quickly and efficiently. The issues that arose were dealt with immediately and my website, email and MS Teams config were running like a dream.

I'd used these guys for small side projects previously, and their offering is great and reasonably priced - which is why I chose them when I decided to migrate my business.

Always very quick to resolve even minor queries.

Absolutely fabulous hosting provider. The support is fantastic, even for a sole trader like me with just a couple of domains. They really know their stuff, prompt and accurate.

The Ecohosting team always respond to Tickets promptly. They are courteous and helpful even if some of the questions asked are due to user ignorance. They put in much work to help recover from a recent hacking event. Sadly the (hopefully) final element of that was not solved but can be worked around. We suspect that the issue lies with the Concrete CMS being used and recently updated to a new version.

Ecohosting provide a comprehensive hosting platform which addresses all our needs (and many more beyond our needs).
When occasionally needed, they reply promptly to questions, although some have required further exploration to track down some issues... more a case of helping me be more familiar with the complex system.

Ecohosting’s customer service is always second to none. It is a good chunk of the reason I have been with them for a good few years now. They are efficient, knowledgable and they always go out of their way to help and resolve any issues or queries.
