You might save a little money on monthly premiums with Elephant, but when it comes time to file a claim, you’ll pay the price in stress, delays, unexpected fees, and finger-pointing. I have never experienced such a poorly handled claim.

On June 2, 2025, my 2022 vehicle was severely damaged in a hailstorm. Today is July 25, 2025—almost two months later—and my car is still not repaired, leaving me without transportation.
It took Elephant Insurance over three weeks just to produce a repair estimate, blaming delays on a third-party appraiser. During that time, my adjuster even tried to make me responsible for storage fees while we waited for their report.
When the estimate finally came back, it was shockingly low—less than $3,000 to fix all of the hail damage, including replacing an entire windshield. Despite admitting their own delays, Elephant refused to extend my rental coverage beyond the 30-day limit, even after I explained that I needed transportation to take my father to chemotherapy.
To make matters worse, Hertz—who provided the rental car—picked it up early and is now trying to charge me a repossession fee and a key fee. I am literally overwhelmed and exhausted by this entire experience.
And just when I thought things couldn’t get worse, on July 29, they finally approved my supplemental repair request from the shop—almost two months after the hailstorm. For both this month and last month, it feels like nothing actually moved forward until after my monthly premium payment cleared.
Elephant continues to push blame onto the repair shop instead of taking responsibility for their mishandled claims process.

Renewed my policy last week and it was fast and friendly... Very professional and efficient,,, I had Allstate for 40 years before but their pricing went thru the roof and switched to this company in 2023 and its been great.
