I have an X30, an X20 Nylon and am currently awaiting a Kestrel. I have had a great experience with Emerald. Their instruments are of the highest quality and their staff are courteous, helpful, answered all of my questions and even offered design suggestions that I had not thought of and turned out to be exactly what I didn't know I wanted. lol. During my experience I feel I have gotten to know them and with the weekly shipping video having become an event that I look forward to, they have fostered a since of family. The only question that remains unanswered is....which instrument should I buy next?

From the time I started building my custom guitar on the website to the time it shipped the communication was spot on. It was a pleasure dealing with Emerald from the beginning. I highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a superior product.

I recently got my 2nd Emerald Guitar, and guitar itself deserves 5 stars. I have two points: the manufacturing lasted muchblonher as advertised on the website. Second, the Giutras are delivered by UPS, the worst delivery service (at least in Europe) log delivery times, bad communication, significant delays . Such high value instruments should be delivered by better services. I had really concerns that the instrument will arrive at all.

I only gave three stars because I am disappointed with the custom built X10 Slimline I just received. The veneer is very dark, almost black, so much that the wood grain I paid extra for is barely visible. It looks nothing like the online representation. I also think the guitar sounds very shrill. I really love my X20 and my X7, but feel let down by the X10 slimline purchase.

Everything Emerald does is outstanding. Manufacturing process, sales, marketing, communications, etc. All perfect. The final product is of the highest quality with excellent playability, sound and appearance.
I've been to the factory and met with the staff. This is an extraordinary company and product.

Ordering was easy as it was in stock--the black & gold anniversary. I guess I wasn't surprised that Fed Ex hit me with a tariff but difficult to blame that on Emerald. I did pay for the expedited service but there was a problem with the Fed Ex driver and Kev refunded the expedited fee to me.

I got a very special and beautiful guitar, easy to play, and with a great sound for strumming. Fingerpicking sound however is a bit dull with the 12 inch D’Addario strings. Will try thinner strings next.
I knew I ran a little risk in ordering a guitar unseen and unplayed, but relied on the very good reviews all around. I was surprised however that the varnish on the top was much darker than in the 3-D builder. I later found a place on the website which showed the original woods and the darker finished products side-by-side, but without any explanation. And no hint in the 3-D builder. The special view in the church room there by contrast suggested that that was really what the final product would be like.
So far so good. What Disappointed me a bit more is the fact that the first three strings get a little stuck when bending on the 10th and 11th fret. I cannot tell whether that’s the carbon surface of the fretboard or the frets, or another construction issue. Physically, it’s right in the middle of the string. I would greatly appreciate Emerald feedback on this. Are you familiar with the issue? What can be done about it? Would you have a repair shop somewhere around Belgium, France of Germany?

Start to finish, Emerald made designing and ordering my new X20 a joy. All went as promised and the end result was AMAZING! My X20 is stunning to look at, with a beautiful, rich, full sound, and so comfortable to play.

The quality of the guitars delivered were excellent. As a matter of fact, the first Guitar I received was so awesome that I went ahead and order a second one. The only thing I would do differently I think is if I were Emerald guitars, I put a little more documentation in with them. Other than that, they are just awesome.

My Amicus is a great little guitar. Very different, with a design that probably only works with a Carbon design. I ordered a custom version, and the lead time was long (which was fine). If you are in a hurry, buy one from Stock!
