This is an over the top outfit, all around. Cpt. made sure we had the best underwater experience every time. Guides were dedicated to showing every possible living underwater delight; Seahorse, Eels, various crabs & lobsters, turtles, sharks, stingrays, corals, sponge, nudibranch, so many puffers, all the tropical fish, & octopus, oh yes, many many. Chef- food was reason enough to be there, seriously. Must do this trip. Warm water/air, comfort surprise. Staff 5*

All was great, thank you, the trip was amazing. Just little complaints about lower cabins, some of them have not fresh airconditioning.

By our experience whole Explorer Ventures team are very proffessional and well informed about all different questions or possibilities. We got easily full information reagrding simpliest and complicated questions. And it always happen very quickly - respect! Whole level of Blue Manta Explorer crew (cruise master, captain, dive guides, chefs, boat boys etc) are very high - they all are brightly shining stars in diving world!! And it all made such a great atmosphere and right mood for whole week.

Blue Manta is a standout liveaboard! 🌊
As a seasoned diver, I was blown away by the level of comfort and thoughtfulness. This massive ship is designed for divers, offering spacious, cozy cabins - even the standard ones feel luxurious.
The service? Absolutely top-notch! The large crew is incredibly attentive - you'll barely lift a finger. Cruise director Cedric is brilliant, with detailed, engaging briefs and a personal touch. The dive team of 5 dive masters takes care of every little detail, ensuring a smooth experience underwater. And the food? A culinary treat - restaurant-style dinners you will remember.
Blue Manta sets the bar high for liveaboard comfort, service, and diving experience. Can’t recommend it enough!

The vessel was well kept and the food…
The vessel was well kept and the food was great. The young, inexperienced dive masters was the weak spot. I believe it is in the Explorer Group's best interest to have the dive leaders look out for all the guests and be intimately familiar with underwater navigation so as to find the vessel at the end of the dives when everyone is most tired and air is running low. No need to overshoot the mark and have to needlessly swim back. If there should be a dive accident, it would only reflect poorly upon your reputation. I am very experienced, others may be less so.

Everything was superb
The accommodations, crew, service, food and everything else were top notch. I suffered a wetsuit zipper failure (teeth popped off) and a crew member was able to repair it. Airport pickup and delivery were expertly organized without any problems. Great trip!

Caribbean Explorer II
The crew was wonderful and the meals to die for. Everyone was friendly and fun. By the time the week was done it was like I'd known them forever. Our dive guides, Henry, Denzel and Robyn were great. Found the octopus and seahorses we wanted to see. It was an experience I'll never forget.

Humbolt is a very old boat
Humbolt is a very old boat. The food is adequate. the staff is very good and diving great. the boat is not worth the money we paid.

Regarding the price, we understand that it can feel higher compared to other destinations like Indonesia or the Philippines. However, the Galapagos Islands are a unique and protected environment, and operating in this remote area comes with significantly higher costs due to environmental fees, regulations, and the overall expense of maintaining a vessel in such a delicate ecosystem.
That said, we continually work to maintain and improve the Humboldt Explorer. In fact, she is scheduled for dry dock in early 2025, and your feedback about the boat has been noted. We value your input and are glad that the incredible diving experiences and our team’s dedicated service made your trip enjoyable. Thank you again, and we wish you happy diving!
Fabulous experience
I had an unforgettable experience during my recent trip on the Blue Manta. It is managed by a stellar crew: dedicated, extremely well-trained and well equipped to do their work, polite, friendly, and accommodating - also attentive to detail. Cruise leader Evan Foster had planned our dives well - and they were extremely well executed by the teams of knowledgeable guides and boat drivers. Evan also provided detailed information and helpful advice before every dive. The guides were finding all kinds of interesting marine animals - and, generally, were a lot of fun to be around! The chef and the whole team who were cooking and serving meals did an outstanding job. I highly recommend this boat! It deserves the highest rating!

The ratio of staff to guest is amazing…
The ratio of staff to guest is amazing and the main reason is safety. This is challenging diving and i always felt they were there for me. The trip included two well organised trips on land so we didn't miss the wider Galapagos experience. If you want to dive Galapagos this is the way to do it.

World case diving
The entire crew worked together to make everything run smoothly. There was always a daily itinerary so you aways knew what time things were happening. The food was more than enough and savory. The diving was incredible. On one dive I counted 40 hammerhead and Galapagos sharks, some so close you could count teeth, or not.
