Poor customer service, mis-leading information, flights incorrectly booked
We travelled to the Galapagos Islands in May 2026. We used the Galapagos Travel Center to book the boat and flights. Our first contact with Galapagos Travel Center was in March 2025. We had quite a few mix-ups, confusing email conversations, and even flights booked so incorrectly that two of our group were REMOVED from their return flight mid-way back home. I would not recommend this travel agent!

We are truly sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations.
Throughout the planning process, your trip was affected by several third-party changes, including airline schedule updates, airport operational changes, and traveler-requested modifications. We kept your group informed at every stage. Unfortunately, in what is a very rare occurrence, an error was made by the cruise operator when issuing one of the return flight tickets.
As soon as the issue was identified at the airport, our Sales and Customer Care teams worked continuously with the cruise operator and the airline until the tickets were reissued, allowing your group to continue the journey. We understand you had hoped we could provide additional services; however, as a travel agency, we act as an intermediary between our travelers and the cruise operator, who is responsible for issuing the flights.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this situation caused. While the ticketing error originated with the operator, we remained committed to assisting you throughout the process and appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve our service.

We had a wonderful experience. booking experience was informative and easy. Our agent, Elizabeth was great. Once there, our stay and travel was so smooth and well informed. Our guides and crew of the boat was the best ever. Food and cabins were great. I really can't say enough about our experience. I don't think it could have been any better.

Galapagos Travel Centre were excellent. Everything was clearly communicated and all my questions were answered quickly. Diana was knowledgeable and efficient.
The person who met us at the airport was also fantastic, helping us check in, and showing us where to and what to show the airport officials.

I kept in contact with the same person throughout my booking which made it much easier. 2 of our group were unable to travel which they sorted out for us. Overall a good experience would book again.

Excellent experience despite no AC
We had an excellent experience aboard Letty with Billy and his crew. The Galapagos is an incredible place and this cruise was an a great way to see the islands. Billy had lots of information and always kept us informed on the days happenings. He guided us safely on the islands. The food was varied and delicious on the boat.
The air conditioning did not work and the room that we were in did not have any windows that opened. We asked Billy about it after the first night, and he said he would try to have someone open a window but the windows were secured shut. It did not sound like this was a new issue, as a couple that had been on the boat for the week before (and our week) said that it was the same. We *tried* to sleep in around 28-29 degree Celsius conditions each night.
Other than that we had a wonderful time. We saw boobies, frigates, one penguin, flamingos, eagle rays, Galapagos sharks, dolphins, many sea lions, and much more.
Diana was great to communicate with and helped us with our booking.

Ecuador and Peru Tour
We booked through Galapagos Travel Center for our travel to Ecuador and Peru visiting Quito,Galapagos, Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. The tours were well organised and the guides were on time,experienced and well prepared. The boat Horizon we boarded at Galapagos was well crewed and they were experienced and very professional. The food was good also. The activities were very interesting,educational and well organised. We had a wonderful time. We must mentioned also that we booked our tour through Galapagos Travel Center Trip Advisor Diana Endara. She was very meticulous about our tour experience and very responsive. When we needed help, she was ever ready to provide guidance and support. We would like to thank her and Galapagos Travel Center for providing a wonderful experience of a life time.

Personalized trip planning, unforgettable experience of a lifetime
Gabriela Aguilar from Galapagos Travel Center worked with us presonally and extensively to customize our trip. Two of us are beginner divers, so we wanted to only dive a couple days rather than dive each day. Gabriela patiently helped us pick out a combination of dive activities (plus activity for non-diving person) as well as the right option for a cruise (we went with Seastar ultimately, a spacious yacht with a small number of guests that we really got along well with and which had a great balance of duration/sights, knowledgeable crew and naturalist guide). Over the course of a few months, we finally picked out a trip we were excited about, and every aspect of it - one day in Quito, two dive days, six cruise days, the guides, the tours - went really well! After all the effort planning, we had an amazing trip filled with new friends, beautiful sights, and very special animals including blue-footed boobies, sea lions, iguanas, sea turtles, flamingos, panga rides being chased by dolphins... Go as soon as you can!

The travel consultant (Elizabeth)…
The travel consultant (Elizabeth) through this company was very reactive vs. pro active. I had to reach out to her to gain more information about the trip, once a deposit was made. Before final payment was due, I didn’t receive a reminder and realized I was almost late for paying balance. I tried to reach Elizabeth, then was told she was on vacation, and finally someone else helped with payment, though had to expedite the payment. I had to reach back out to her about receiving final information for trip, she then told me the delay was due to not having husband’s updated passport, though she didn’t reach out in advance as a reminder, that this information was needed.

Loved the yacht (Angel)
Loved the yacht (Angel), loved the hotel in Santa Cruz. Loved Isabella island. Not so in love with hotel in Quito or hotel on Isabela --cleanliness not up to par, though one in Quito was charming. Did not need tunnel tour w snorkeling on last day in Isabela. Had plenty of better snorkling on yacht with much better crew/safety (though the lunch -- tuna -- was terrific). As far as Isabela, would've liked better guidance. We almost didn't bike alongside the beach through Parque Nationale Galapagos, which would've been a big miss. We were simply told bikes were rented for us. We got no biking direction from our hotel or from the bike rental place (where no one spoke any English). We were told bike rentals from 9 to noon, but they let us have them until 6 pm, which was necessary and very nice.

We also appreciate your comments regarding the hotels and some of the land-based experiences. Galapagos offers different styles of travel between islands and between cruise and hotel operations, especially in more remote islands such as Isabela, where infrastructure and services are naturally more rustic compared to Santa Cruz or to the onboard experience of a yacht.
Regarding the biking experience, this activity was included as a flexible way to explore Isabela at your own pace. Assistance was available to accompany you to the rental location and provide guidance, although we understand you preferred to explore more independently. Since these are local services on a remote island, English-speaking assistance can sometimes be limited, but we’re very glad you were still able to enjoy the experience.

Brilliant from start to finish
We used Galápagos travel for a 6 day trip to Galapagos and a one day to Mindo in Ecuador. They are a caring company who really seem to want to help you have the best time.
Isabella, our guide in Galapagos was very knowledgeable and interesting telling us about the island’s history as well as the excursions we did. (Scuba diving with Iguana Diving), island trips as well as lots on Puerta Ayora, our base.
In Ecuador Giovanni took us on a stunning trip to Mindo cloud forest, stopping to see hummingbirds up close on the way. Absolutely superb, it was a private trip and took from 08.00 to 18.00 as he didn’t rush us at all. We learnt the reason that we saw so few birds in the forest was because they are only evident early morning, but the waterfall walk was just beautiful.
I would recommend this company 100% for their care, response, quality of contracted third parties and overall professionalism.
