Ash quite literally saved our wedding day. I had a really unpleasant, negative and impersonal experience with a well-known high street suit store, which left me feeling deflated. It soured what should have been an important, memorable moment of choosing the suit for the biggest day of my life. Fortunately, I found Ash and my faith was restored. His attention to detail and thoroughness, his warm personal approach, his expertise and recommendations - giving me options to consider that I wouldn't have even thought of but for his incredible knowledge. I left feeling so thankful that he had not only taken the time, but managed to turn around the project just a few weeks before my big day. When I collected it and tried it on, I felt like a million dollars and was full of emotion, and all of those bitter feelings of disappointment I had experienced before disappeared. You get a personal service with Ash, and a level of experience that you cannot get anywhere else. I'll certainly be back the next time I need a suit! I couldn't be more grateful, so thanks Ash for playing such a huge part in my big day. (My wife was also really happy with how I looked which is probably the most important thing!)

I chose Gangotra1916 for my wedding tuxedo, and was not disappointed. From the initial meeting, Ash was fabulous. An extremely knowledgeable and personable gentleman. No pressure at all, very chilled and an absolute pleasure to chat with. Ash is very passionate about clothing and that shines through in abundance. I had a total of three visits and each time we spent hours chatting, not just about clothes either.

The final product was beyond beautiful, a midnight blue velvet tuxedo with a custom lining embroidered with our names and wedding date. Sartorial waistband trousers with matching midnight blue satin galloon and buttons.

Both, of course fitted to perfection and I felt beyond amazing. Every single person at the wedding commented how beautiful the outfit was.

Whether it’s a casual blazer, a wedding suit or a whole wardrobe. I would highly recommend!

From start to finish a great experience sitting with Ash and going through my requirements. To be honest I was initially thinking we done and dusted in 20 - 30 mins but we ended up talking for much longer and enjoyed the whole experience.

He took time to understand what I like - what makes me feel comfortable going through colours and fabrics etc.. and finally ended up with a lovely bespoke shirt which looks and fits beautifully.

I had a really fantastic experience with Ash at Gangotra - he clearly has a long and successful track record in the industry and brings a wealth of experience, luxury and high customer service levels into his day to day operations.

My requirements were a mix of wedding clothing, but also some personal clothing. We spent several hours together designing my pieces, selecting fabrics, buttons, cuts etc. and the detail that he went into to guide me to the right end result was impressive.

After the final measure up and placing the order, my pieces were ready in 5 weeks and we had another in person session to try on and collect, talking through how to style my new wardrobe items.

Overall, this was a 5* and highly private, personalised service. I will be a regular return customer, an I’m genuinely excited for what I will get from him in the future. Don’t hesitate to go to Ash, if you’re looking for bespoke tailoring in the midlands.

Extremely happy with my 3 piece suit that was tailored for my wedding. This was the first time that I’d got a suit made from stratch and Ash gave hours of his time to explain and take me through the process. The service throughout was exceptional - Ash really does have the knowledge and a fine eye for detail. I also got personalised shoes and a made to measure shirt and tie that I’m really happy with. This was my first suit since my wedding, so I needed a bit of guidance. Ash clearly has a lot of experience and walked me through all of the options, and now I have exactly the suit I was looking for. It was a nice and relaxed fitting, and Ash gave great advice, I am very happy to recommend his services.

Following a terrible bespoke experience on Savile Row I was very reluctant about having another tailored garment made. However, as I have always struggled to find well fitting off the peg clothes, my partner encouraged me to try Gangotra1916 and have a made to measure shirt.
From the start Ash's experience shone through and there was no sales pressure. Ash was very personable and calm, alleviating any concerns from my previous poor experience. He even offered me a coffee or a beer, much better hospitality than I received in Mayfair!
The end result is excellent, exactly as we had planned it. In fact, I am so happy that I am in the process of arranging another appointment to create some custom made shoes.
Overall, a great experience, I would wholeheartedly recommend.

Our family have known Ash and his family for about 45 years. We grew up in the same area and have known them to be highly skilled tailors who ran an an extremely successful business.

It is wonderful to see Ash now flourishing in his own enterprise. I recently went and ordered a made to measure shirt and also two silk ties. Ash has a good choice of materials for shirts and for ties.
It was an interesting experience sitting with Ash and learning about the different fabrics and their origin and all the history behind the Mills they come from. I also learnt a lot of the styles of shirts and the way they can be tailored to meet your own individual needs and preferences. I have never ordered anything bespoke before and I loved the whole experience from choosing the material and seeing it arrive.

The final products were brilliant and well worth doing. The fitting was perfect and added to the smartness of wearing a suit with the shirt and tie. I also chose to have a monogram of my initials on the cuff of the shirt, which added a bit of individuality. The ties that Ash makes also carry ones initials on the back.

Would definitely recommend Gangotra 1916 as Ash is extremely experienced and knowledgeable. He has a real passion for his work and derives pleasure in his customers being happy with their order.
