I'd give 0 stars if I could

I'd give 0 stars if I could. The movers didn't do as instructed. we asked them to meet at the storage unit first and they didn't so that took extra time. they claimed they weren't informed that they had to load the shed which I clearly told the company. they didn't load up the truck accordingly which they admitted and my husband had to rent another truck himself and go all the way back from St Catharine's to Innisfil to load up the shed himself. it cost us an extra $1000 for the day

the worst thing though was that they knocked off the snorkel from our house and didn't tell us. we had a furnace guy come to the home and he put a new one on and said that if we were to turn on the furnace we would have ended up in either the hospital or the morgue!!

I sent Get Movers the picture from the day before we moved in clearly showing that the snorkel is on the house. the original owner was here and can attest that the snorkel was on as well before the movers arrived.

get movers are giving me the runaround and aren't taking any responsibility. they should be giving us back at least the money we spent on the new snorkel install.

If they were a reputable company who supposedly takes these things seriously they would have gladly given us what we are asking for

I highly suggest not using this company at all. they don't care about their customers

they are nothing but scam artists

I will be telling anyone and everyone about our experience

it made our moving day so much more stressful than it needed to be

RUN!

RUN! Get Movers has zero integrity and absolutely DESTROYED our belongings. Throughout the entire process, the customer service representatives (Sharoni), on site crew members, as well as company supervisors (Victor) intentionally misguide customers and then do not return calls/emails. A complete failure in customer support. The company was notified that there was a fight between the crew members at origin that resulted in our belongings being thrown from the truck in a dispute based on lack of loading experience. The crew arrived completely unprepared with limited packing supplies and asked the customers to supply packing wrap. Not to mention the cigarette burns in our couch cushions from the crew smoking in the truck. The crew mentioned the truck from not packed properly and that he would better wrap our belongings once unloaded at the warehouse so that they could be better protects while in storage; however, this never happened. Absolutely zero respect. Completely unprofessional. The crew leader as well as a company supervisor was made aware of the damages as they were inspected and unloaded from the truck at the destination. The crew was late. We were told that there was nothing Get Movers could do because the office was closed, but don’t worry since they have insurance, and to call customer service the following morning at 10AM for further instruction rather than directing us to the proper company protocols. Get Movers said we never notified the company of any damages, which ultimately resulted in our claim being denied. The allegation that we did not notify the company of damages is absolutely false as the mishandling, lack of care and respect for our belongings was acknowledged by customer service from the point of origin. This company is untrustworthy.

An Absolute Nightmare experience

An Absolute Nightmare experience. 1.5 months of not knowing where our stuff was. Terrible communication. When our things arrived, it was brought by another company that we had never heard of. Our things were badly damaged, with things missing. They dumped our move in a heap, and refused even to take our bed upstairs. Don’t be fooled by the reviews like we were. I hope that if you are reading this you won’t trust these guys with your move.

Didn't Show Up, Didn't Apologize

DO NOT HIRE GET MOVERS!!

My husband and I recently hired Get Movers for a move to a city 3 hours away. The move date was originally scheduled for September 30, however, Michael from Get Movers phoned a few weeks before the move to ask if we could reschedule for the 29th. In order to accommodate them, my husband and I each had to take an extra day off work, the tenant that was living in our new place prior to our arrival kindly vacated the place early so we could move in a day ahead of schedule, and we had to pay for an extra night in the new suite. But no problem, we were happy to do what we needed to do to guarantee that our big move went smoothly.

September 29 rolls around and we are fully prepared and ready to go. The majority of our furniture and boxes are easily accessible in the garage, everything is packed and wrapped, and we are anxiously awaiting our 10am start time. By 10:20, the truck had not arrived and we hadn’t heard a peep from Get Movers. The contract did have a 1 hour buffer policy, so we remained patient and calm, and reached out to Michael just asking for an ETA on the truck. He said he would contact the truck and get back to me, but I didn’t hear from him again until I phoned him at 11am, when the 1 hour buffer has passed. Michael casually informed me that he couldn’t get in touch with anyone in the truck and asked if we could reschedule if they didn’t turn up in the next few minutes. He was completely nonchalant about this, as if we had mixed up our plans to grab a coffee together. I reminded Michael that he had already rescheduled on us, and informed him of all the inconveniences we endured to accommodate their schedule, and he didn’t even remember doing this, despite sending me an updated contract with the new moving date and time. My husband and I became more stern with him, and for the next two hours he continued to say he would call us back and never do so. Every time we phoned him the status was the same – he couldn’t reach the truck. How is this possible? Get Movers’ website boasts GPS tracking in all of their trucks, and there should have been 3 movers in the vehicle who each have their own phones. Michael was completely unfazed and unapologetic every time we called him.

By 1pm we had lost all hope that the truck would show up. We called a few other moving companies before accepting that we were going to have to get a U-Haul and do this move ourselves. We spent the next few hours under intense mental and physical stress and didn’t hear a word from Michael after the last time he had promised to call us back. Unfortunately, the size of truck we needed wasn’t available at U-Haul so we had to make the long drive back the next day and rent another truck for our remaining belongings and pick up our other vehicle. Our move was also supposed to include my beloved upright piano, which is why we were going to pay Get Movers for 3 movers instead of the standard 2. My husband and I were unable to move it ourselves so we had to leave it behind. I am devastated about this.

We phoned Get Movers again on our second day of moving and spoke with Danny. We explained the situation and all of the events that had transpired since their company failed us the previous day, and he was no more empathetic or apologetic than Michael was. We asked what they were going to do to make this right, and were told that we cancelled the move so there was nothing they could do. WHAT? We didn’t cancel… YOU DIDN’T SHOW UP! We expressed this and Danny said, ‘let me call my supervisor and phone you back’. Guess who didn’t call us back? Our deposit was returned by etransfer, but no one from the company has reached out to us to apologize or rectify the situation in any way. This whole ordeal caused us a great amount of physical and mental stress, the loss of my cherished instrument, and significantly more time and money than if we had just planned to move via U-Haul in the first place.

So do yourself a favour and hire any other company. Get Movers is completely unreliable and has horrendous customer service. We don’t want this to happen to anybody else.

The customer service is very poor

The customer service is very poor. Our move was subcontracted to another moving company. Our movers were late by several hours. In the end we found out that one of the crew members hurt their hand, but it took a few hours before we were even informed. In the end, 2 of the 3 movers showed up. They didn't have proper shoes and they used our tools. With the little that they did do, they managed to damage my door casing. I agreed with the office before they arrived that I would only pay for the 1 hour that they were needed (we did the moving ourselves until they arrived, and I was contemplating cancelling it altogether). I made the mistake of paying for a crew of 3 when only 2 showed up. When I requested a credit for the difference, I was told that someone would get back to me within a week or two. No one got back to me. I had to follow-up several times, and in the beginning they didn't even respond. Finally, after 3 weeks, they told me that they were unwilling to provide a credit since they already agreed to only charge us for 1 hour. It was a very unpleasant situation. The people on the phone were respectful, but completely unhelpful throughout the process. I recommend you work with a smaller company where you aren't treated like a number among many customers. I wouldn't hire Get Movers if I were you.

Use them at your own risk

I moved my office on August 24th, 2021 with getmovers.ca. These movers caused significant damage to some expensive furniture. They told me that customer service would take of it. I called and emailed customer service and have not received any response. I was also charged extra for items that I was told I would not be charged extra when arranging the move. Use them at your own risk!

STAY AWAY!

Truck had issues, couldn't close the back door. It took them 20 minutes to close it and then took them 1.5 hrs to get to my new home which is normally 30 minutes away. Then I got billed for both issues. Asked for a refund on issues that were not my fault and ANAR basically told me to screw off.

Typical, "the number 1888 686 3070 is not in service." No resolution.

Terrible Service! Don't recommend!

Terrible experience! I advise against this company if you value your items, your money, and your energies. They showed up two hours late without an explanation. Their crew manager was rude and very abrupt. They took long breaks way too often and charged me for break time. They broke some equipment and refused to take responsibility, and they were dishonest when it came to the bill. If you think that's it, you're wrong; it's impossible to reach them over the phone. When you do reach them, they provide laconic, contradicting answers or straight out lie to you. And they definitely value the dollar more than the client. Other than my initial phone call to book the move, dealing with them was difficult, stressful and exhausting. I will never use their services again.

Amazing moving experience

GetMovers were amazing and easy to work with throughout the entire process. They were very quick to respond and so reliable. They showed up for work at 9:00 and did everything in their power to stay on schedule and provide quality work. The process was seamless and really professional from packing our condo to unpacking our stuff into the new place. Highly recommend this company for any moving.

GetMovers did an excellent job helping…

GetMovers did an excellent job helping us to apartments withing Edmonton. On time, ready to work and well organized. They had very positive attitudes the entire moving time and politely communicated with us. We haven't seen any of scratches or damages... thank you for being so careful and thorough! 100% the best experience with movers and worth every penny.
