Tongue issues
This is a nice looking boot, but the tongue in my left boot does not stay in place and keeps sliding to a really uncomfortable position.
Terrible customer retention.
Good quality but terrible customer service/retention. Ordered a pair of replacement laces and they charged 100% more on shipping charges. I asked why because I've ordered before with FREE shipping and they said that those were the new policies! Good luck with that. I will never buy anything from Grenson again.

Two years-ago, I ordered a pair of Nora boots from Grenson. Although they were around 250 £, I decided to buy them as they appeared to be of good quality. After only a couple of months, I noticed that the state of one boot had badly deteriorated. At that point, customer service said that the product I received was defective and that they would resole them.
But after two years of wearing them from time to time in town, the sole is so worn out it needs resoling again. This time, customer service offered me to pay between 160 and 185 euros, plus shipping, to resole them (basically, the price of brand new decent-quality boots). They explained that :
''leather soles need re-soling after 1-2 years wear. This is normal for leather soled styles.''
From their answer, I understand Grenson products are meant as very expensive fast-fashion. Every two years, you need to resole their shoewear, paying a hefty sum, ad vitam aeternam, until you're tired of throwing out your money.
My advice is to buy from another company with better customer service and products of a better quality, that are meant to last more than one or two years (if you are lucky!).
Worst purchase and customer service ever experienced.
Quite a while ago I went to purchase a pair of Redwing blots, while in the shop I noticed a pair of Grenson boots and was offered a discount if I purchased both pairs. Which I did.
After wearing the Grensons for a short while the leather lining on the heel disintegrated on both boots.
I was about to go overseas for some time. On my return I contacted Grensons and, as per their request, I posted them for repair.
They were returned with a patch of leather stuck on the outside of the inner lining, which peeled off as soon as I put them on.
And they say 'Made by Craftsman'
As far as I can remember these were a 'budget' series made in India, but still cost over three hundred pounds.
I am now a pensioner and with my 'hand on my heart' I can confirm this was probably the worst purchase and customer service I have ever experienced.
Not worth the money and terrible customer service
The leather lining inside my Fred boots wore out exceptionally quickly. The Grenson customer service team has been awful, bordering on utter ineptitude. Despite sending them my boots, their ‘skilled craftsmen’ cannot tell me if a repair is feasible or not. They are more worried about liability and do not want to be held accountable for any repairs made. An utter waste of my time. I have since bought a pair of Loake boots as a replacement and have been very impressed.

I have a pair of Grenson boots I bought back in December 2019, which have been well used. A month or so ago one of the laces snapped, and - unable to find an identical replacement on their website - I contacted them to find out if I could buy a new set, and if not what the best alternative was. They told me that as it was a discontinued boot they no longer sold the laces, and suggested some alternatives, but also that they'd see if they still had some of the originals around. Shortly after they got back to me to let me know they did have some, and sent them out free of charge. Great service.

Without doubt fantastic service from this wonderful company. I purchased my 1st pair back in 2014 and enjoyed them so much I thought I would try there service to a rebuild. I paid my money and sent them off . Few days later they told me I had overpaid by mistake and sent this back to my bank . Well impressed already. Then today my boots arrived. Beautifully packed and with such care. Honestly they have done an outstanding job it’s like they are brand new but without the need to break in . Whoever worked on these deserves my thanks. I’ve tried ringing to do this but unfortunately it’s all by email. I’m about to buy another pair as a treat I’m that chuffed . Mick
Trust Restored - Great Quality and Service
I can wholeheartedly recommend Grenson!
At the end of December 2020, I made my first order at Grenson. One of the pairs I ordered wasn't to my liking, so I tried sending them back. Unfortunately -- due to Brexit and new rules at DHL -- it cost a lot of effort to return the shoes. Eventually, after about a month, the return process was finally completed.
Because I had placed a second order at the time the return process begun, and the rules and regulations for EU customers ordering from the UK were already in effect by then, I had to pay about +33% of the total order amount to customs. Of course I expected this, but in combination with the above, I did not like the overall experience.
Unexpectedly, I received an email on the 6th of April from Grenson, informing me about a fully duty paid system -- which would mean a clear final amount at checkout, and a delivery without any further charges. They also offered to compensate me for the issues due to Brexit, with a free pair of shoes, hassle free (so I write this experience fully on my own behalf).
In conclusion; I received great service from Grenson. Not only did they give me great advice with choosing new shoes, and offer free global return service, but the order arrived at my doorstep within 48 hours!!
The handmade shoes are of the best quality. My trust is restored and Grenson is back at the top of my list, amongst all the great names. Therefore I can highly recommend this company! I already have my eyes on another pair of shoes, and I am looking forward to order these soon.

Quite how I managed to sign up to Grenson I'm not sure but I made the fatal mistake of hitting the unsubscribe button - a big mistake. By hitting *'unsubscribe'*, you're triggering a response and you will then be bombarded with junk e/mails.

Always a good experience
Always a good experience. I bought my first pair of Grensons several years ago during a trip to London and loved them so much that I kept ordering more even after I returned to Germany. Right now I own five pairs of their shoes and I love them all. Good craftsmanship, excellent quality of materials, perfect fit and they always look awesome. Had to return (exchange) a pair once and that was a smooth experience as well, customer service was very helpful and the whole process was very easy and fast, especially given that I don’t live in the UK.

Impeccable customer services, quality products
I had a few Brexit-related delivery issues (for delivery to the EU) that I wasn't expecting after placing my order. Like so many others, I think the company was unprepared. I decided to return my item without paying the additional custom's fees. After having read some of the reviews about their customer services, I wasn't sure what to expect but I was suprised by how efficient they were. They took charge of the return expenses, refunded me very quickly and then, without me asking, they made an incredible commercial gesture in apology. It has been a long time since I've felt like a truly valued customer. I honestly can't praise them enough. I have been informed that the border issues have now been resolved, and I look forward to placing more orders with you in the future. Thanks.

I now own 11 pairs of Grensons so I can only say I must like their shoes. Got my first pair around 2008. I've always thought these shoes will last a lifetime if you take care of them but I still keep buying them. Not only are the shoes well made, when you send them back to Grenson for a resole they look like new when they return.
I'm not keen on some of the attempts to capture a younger fashion audience especially when they keep boasting that they were established in 1866. Some of the range is now made in India which also goes away from the cherished image of benchmade shoes from Northampton.
Niggles aside they do the classic styles like brogues and Oxfords in nice proportions that keep them looking modern. No need to try too hard when you're already doing it right.
Good experience returning for refund.
Got to defend these guys a little as I've been fortunate to be refunded very promptly following the return of a pair of sneakers. The shoes themselves were great but unfortunately came up a little smaller than my other pair of sneaker 1's. Disappointed I had to return as they were bought at a great price in the sale. However easy tracked returns process and very quick refund.

I bought a pair of Archie shoes and received a completely different pair of shoes. I wish i had read the reviews before investing my money (£302) with this company. Returned them over a week ago and I can see from the tracking that they have received the returned item but I have had absolutely no communication regarding my refund and they are not responding to my emails either. Apparently the shoes are good but shame about the customer service. They keep this poor attitude up and they will fall behind in the marketplace because nothing damages a brand more than poor customer service. Get your act together guys, your current path is a dangerous and tricky one in this current time of online sales activity. Only the best will survive.

They Refunded cost of damaged boots sent to me on return (I had asked for replacement and also I wonder about their quality control ). Different Colour Shoes
Ordered a pair of shoes as a christmas present for my wife. On opening them on Christmas day I had been sent two different shoes - one black, one white (as ordered). On contacted I was told they were sold out but they can provide me........ a refund - you would hope so.
