Did a transaction and Mony sent the transactions numbers already twice. Merchant can’t refund me as they are not able to send money to foreigners. Stuck in the Mony ai chat of for 5 days saying they will arrange a chargeback and connect me to a live agent but 5 days later still no live agent and no refund.

Paying was great using you but the refund experience has left a massive sour taste .

Tried to load 20399inr which said equates to €183 incl their input fee of 3.5%. Payment taken from bank was 198 with no explanation or response from helpdesk chat.
Tried to purchase with the app and Payment failed 4 times in a row which left me with no way to pay. I again contacted customer service with no response again.i emailed and they directed me to the chat which never gets you a real person and gives the same answer over and over. Som im down nearly €200 with an app holding my money which I can't use and according to other users the funds won't be refunded either.on deactivation when I leave. AVOID-bring cash

This is definitely the worst service i ever used. Starting with the KYC, i wanted to self correct and send proper visa photo but it wasn’t possible - app wasn’t taking new picture i had to wait until monday to get a live agent to retry it manually (since saturday). they declare that 98% of upi places are support - this is a big lie, in practice every second place is not working declining your request (f.e KFC, big company, payment declined).
You can’t withdraw money - i tried and now i lost 3k rupies as they are frozen somewhere in the system hanging as pending.
On the other day i paid over 6k rupies to the vendor, payment went from by account but vendor never received money. now i don’t have merchandise and money.
Support is only via app, mostly ai agent. All i hear is money should be back in few days - yeah your service is a total scam. i lost more than 100€ and no one can help me taking it back. Never ever use this scam app again

So many failings in MONY, the latest of which is that they DON'T and WON'T protect your money against unscrupulous or fraudulent merchants. Customer support is appalling, "VAISHNAVI" earns a special mention in relation to poor and unprofessional attitude. My latest experiences suggest that MONY actually facilitates certain kinds of fraudulent transaction which are then approved without any PIN or biometric authorisation. Basically ANY merchant can misuse a MONY customer account and MONY REFUSES to accept any responsibility or offer refund. They won't even contact a merchant who has ripped-off one of their customers. On public reviews when faced with any criticism, MONY will ask you to contact customer support to get a situation resolved. This is simply a public answer to a critical online review which is intended to make it appear that MONY is proactive in offering solutions. They don't! For anyone considering trusting this company with your money for use on a UPI (Unified Payments Interface) for travel in India, don’t trust them. Your money will be taken from your account without your authorisation and they will totally refuse to even help you. Appalling scammers!

Goes by Mony. In princple a good idea but in the end not useful and super frustrating. Cannot pay personal accounts. Have to pay inactive fees (not listed in the FAQ fees). Have to pay exorbitant exchange rates. Have to pay to close account. Doesn’t work properly for online payments. Basically I just lots lots of money because I opened an account when I could have just withdrawn cash. Dont do it.

While Mony may seem convenient for tourists in India for UPI when it comes to making payments, my experience has been very disappointing. Once I requested account deletion, their support became unresponsive and difficult to contact. Without any prior notification, my account was suddenly blocked.

It raises serious concerns that they appear more interested in collecting user data rather than respecting deletion requests. It feels like they avoid properly removing your information when you ask.

Think carefully before using this service… your personal data might not be handled responsibly.

It made my travel to India easier. I could make my payment etc easily without worrying about cash or card on me. Didn't need an Indian Bank Account or Indian Sim to do so.
