Used to be excellent but they have changed the packaging from boxes to tight plastic, and all the hay which used to be lovely and long is now broken into short pieces. Guinea pigs not happy.

I've been a customer for a couple of years but the hay quality is getting more dusty.
I order 2 x 5kg boxes last month but only 1 x 5kg was left on my doorstep without the courier waiting for me to answer the door. I emailed them immediately attached proof of delivery, however 3 weeks down the line and I have had no response. I have tried to call but there is no answer.

Used to be great but since the use of vacuum packaging, our guinea pigs and rabbits just don't really touch it anymore. They used to love it!

Unfortunately, I'm going to change suppliers. A real shame.

I've been ordering from HayBox for quite a while now and it just gets better and better! The ordering process and service are great and I love the recent changes which means less packaging and the hay will stay fresh for even longer. And the hay itself is great quality. Can't recommend enough.

I have used Hay box for the last year and have been more than happy with the ordering and delivery.
The hay is so lovely and smells so very fresh,I use it for my 2 Lop Rabbits who absolutely love the hay 🐰 🐰X

The hay products at HayBox are the best quality and price I have found anywhere. The subscription option means I never run out either. The communication from the team after a query came up was very quick and helpful. They even send you a reminder email to let you know when your next order is due. 10/10 couldn't ask for better service.

New packaging with hay compressed into plastic bags. Hay is very dusty and difficult to get out of bags. It used to be delivered by DPD but now by EVRI who say they've delivered it but actually haven't. I've been on hold on the phone for nearly 3 hours this morning. I sent a message via there website and got what must be an automated message back. I've cancelled my subscription and will be contacting my credit card company to arrange a charge back. Appauling - if it isn't broke don't change your product.

Haybox were fairly good, despite the boxes sometimes arriving damaged by the courier. Occasionally, I would get a bad box of hay (but this was extremely infrequent).

However, my rabbits unfortunately will not eat the new batch of hay in the new packaging, when they usually readily devour their hay. I see others have had similar issues, which is unfortunate. The strands are also shorter and the quality of this batch was lower.

On ordering from a different supplier (who I have also used in the past), the rabbits readily ate the new hay. Unfortunately, I can't buy hay they don't eat and it's strange that this change in packaging to plastic and compressed bales had such a strong reaction from them.

I'm not sure if the hay has also been processed differently (perhaps it has a different smell) as they've also been happy to eat big bale hay (usually bought for the horses) and seemed very hungry when I needed to provide this when they wouldn't eat the new haybox hay in the new packaging.

I’ve been a loyal customer for over a year. I even kept using them when the box arrived damaged, resealed by the courier and HayBox refused to replace it. However, they have now changed to compressed hay, vacuum sealed in polythene. The strands are much smaller and in my opinion lower quality. Our bunnies don’t even eat much of it anymore. I will regrettably have to find a new supplier.

Terrible hay. Guinea pigs have gone off it, the tiny bits of hay get everywhere and there is so much dust. I am now using a new hay company. Also, I think a lot of the 5 star reviews that have been posted since the change started are AI or been paid for. Haybox - you are a con

Why change a good thing?!
Been using Haybox for about a year now, excellent!.....until now. Used to get a box each time filled with long hay, barely any dust and the buns would use the box as a hideout afterwards, couldn't ask for more. Now, short hay, longest is about 6 inches if we're lucky so when I put it in the hay feeder it just falls out, soo much dust and when transferring from bag to box (we're still using an old hay box we have as how are we fitting all that hay in that half sized box?) The dust goes everywhere! I'm currently looking for a replacement source for hay. You've ruined a good thing.

I really like the new packaging and the way of packing the hay. It looks great and is much more tidy to store in my home.

Haybox are a fantastic company. They work so hard and the quality of their products is exceptional. I’ve been using them for my bunny hay (plus yummy dandelion root, marigold and strawberry leaves treats) for over 4 years now.
I honestly wouldn’t buy my hay elsewhere. You can easily schedule your next delivery, depending on how much you require. My two munchkins don’t eat as much hay in the summer but are devouring it loads now it’s colder. The quality of the Timothy hay is consistently beautiful, fresh and very tasty apparently!
I recently had a small issue which they promptly and professionally resolved in a friendly and courteous manner.

I am a long standing Haybox customer as the standard of hay is excellent. I am, however, also another unhappy customer due to the changes the company have implemented with their new packaging. It feels to me they have gone backwards having introduced compressed hay in plastic rather than loose in simple cardboard boxes. The hay needs emptying out into boxes anyway as compressed hay goes everywhere when you pull it out. I realise some customers are happy with the change but no plastic was a positive for me in a world trying to use less plastic. Doesn’t have the same feel as a company now.

Haybox has really great quality hay, my guinea pigs love the meadow hay best. It’s dust free, green and smells lovely.
The new packaging is brilliant, space saving and can be recycled.

My haybox shipment just arrived and the box is completely soaked through with muddy water and broken to piece on arrival at my doorstep. It's such a shame! I ordered on the 10th December and it arrived on the 13th December which is not too bad for a busy Christmas time delivery but the product was not handled with care at all.

Not sure how I feel about the new compressed hay; it's quite challenging for me to extract as a disabled person, leaving my hands bloody with sharp bits of pokey hay. The uncompresed hay was a big selling-point for me. Also, not a fan of needing to download and use the "Shop" app just to get a tracking number. Incredibly frustrating app that works only about half the time. Currently, when I try to get the tracking number, it asks me to sign in, which I do with Gmail, only to be returned to the landing page where I try to get the tracking number again, only to be greeted with another "please sign in" page.

Always ordered from haybox and loved it. My recent purchase is awful.
The hay is in a plastig bag and the quality is horrible now!
Not only us But also, my bunny is constantly sneezing! Dusty dusty and dusty!!

Beautiful fresh smelling, great quality hay, at a good price, that my pets love. Even my vet commented how good it looked, when I took my bunnies for their vaccinations.
Due to a recent change in packaging, it’s now so much easier to store, as it comes compressed in a 5kg bag.
Great customer service too, orders arrive quickly and it’s easy to call them, if you have a query.
