Ordered and delivered ready to mow within 4 days by a lovely gentleman who showed me how to start Ian’s control the mower. Powerful with a good size grass basket. Heavy enough to have smart lawn lines but easy to manoeuvre. Quiet and feels well built.

Hi Mr Hayter,
I have owned my Hater Harrier 56 for over 20 years. Have recently bought a new Hayter Harrier 48, I have two complaints being six months in.
1) handlebars are too short so my feet keep hitting the grass box as you walk (so bad) you must try before you buy
2) the Lawnmower rattles and vibrates, this I am told is a common fault of Harrier 48 according to my garden service engineer.

Machine arrived in perfect condition. Easy to set up and a dream to use. Super easy cutting height adjustment. Clean sharp cut and the power drive to the rear roller makes it a joy to cut the lawn. And of course the beautiful stripes.

Only found out at the end of the purchasing process that my product was made in China. I specifically came to Hayter because it was a British company and didn’t want anything Chinese. I realise it’s probably made there as a part of your manufacturing process.
The delivery process could have been better. It needs more updates. Basically didn’t know when it was going be delivered until near the end.
The product itself is first class. Solid. Well made. Reassuringly heavy. Looks great. Mows great. I love the British racing green! And it suits our lawns down to a tee. Overall..pretty happy.

Had to chase multiple times where order was m - item eventually delivered with scratches. Can’t be bothered to do anything about it - it’s a lawnmower and will end up scratched but not a great introduction to the ‘buying a new quality lawnmower’ experience.

One week after placing our order for a new mower it had arrived and we were mowing our lawn. Our new mower replaced our old Hayter which was 40 years old and still working.

Good communication. Haven't been able to use the mower yet because of all the rain!!

I chose Hayter because my family have always used them but I was sadly very disappointed. I appreciate the quality isn't what it used to be because companies have to stay competitive but I've had an oil leak since purchasing it. There was the promise of a gift at purchase but despite jumping hoops completing registration/application forms it never arrived despite chasing it for months. Hayter refer me to a "third party" promotion company who in turn refer me back to Hayter's "claims department". Very poor customer service for a top end machine for which I paid £1000 .

Delivery time was efficient and courteous. What was unusual was the grass collector had small piece of dried grass and other marks in and on it, not what would expect to come from the factory. Mower is very good to use although only use once, prompted for review same day as delivery and followed by reminder. Reviewnig a mower after at least a month of use would be more beneficial to potential buyers. However I found it easy to use, not heavy to manoeuvre and does leave a nice stripe finish

I purchased a Hayter Hawk 36 in April 2024, and it has been a massive disappointment. The design of the wiring at the folding joint is fatally flawed. My first unit arrived with damaged wiring; the replacement developed the exact same issue quickly: worn exposed wires at the hinge.

The Failure: while mowing recently, the motor died suddenly after I simply emptied the grass basket. No stress was applied to the cable at that moment, yet the machine became a brick.

The Support (or Lack Thereof): Hayter’s customer service is non-existent. They directed me to local dealers, but every single dealer I contacted refused to service electric mowers, stating they only handle petrol models. I followed up with Hayter 12 days ago to report this dead end, and they have ignored me ever since.

The Attempted Repair: left with an overgrown lawn and no professional support, I was forced to attempt a repair myself. I identified the frayed wires at the hinge and soldered them back together. Despite this, the mower remains dead, suggesting a deeper electronic failure or a secondary fault triggered by their poor wiring design.

When you buy this machine, you are paying a premium price for a disposable product. Once it breaks, the service network evaporates and you are on your own.

I have just replaced my well-used 1987 Hayter Harrier 48 (it was still cutting grass yesterday) with a new Hayter Harrier 48 VS BCC. The new mower is quieter, faster and safer and hopefully will be the last mower I buy. I am very pleased with the quality and performance.It was easy to buy from Hayter direct and good technical advice to help purchase from the team.
