Wish I’d read the Trustpilot 1* reviews before I bought .. normally I do 🙄. They ‘pretend’ to be a shop in Brighton .. but are a factory in China . The uppers are horribly stiff and the shoes are impossibly uncomfortable despite their blurb saying ‘soft uppers’ . The shies absolutely stink of strong glue , the tassels are cheap felted material . The outlets are a nasty cheap material . Whatever you do AVOID this Chinese company .

I would give less than one star if it was possible.
Waited weeks for delivery, by which point it was actually of no use to me; the item was not as shown or described - very poor quality; customer service reads like AI generated garbage about how they really appreciate their customers and want to make everything straightforward when they do anything but. I've asked three times now for information about how to return the item and been fobbed off with the offer of credit (as if!) and a whole explanation about what happens if the item gets lost in the post. No actual address for returns except that it's in China. Frankly, the whole thing feels like a scam - and,looking into it, Hazel &May is just a marketing company, so I think it probably is.

I ordered a jumper for Christmas which did not arrive despite ordering it a good 2 weeks beforehand. I then ordered two linen dresses and all the items of clothing are cheap acrylic material.
Items cost me over £100. I emailed no responses. Do not buy from this company. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I thought I was dealing with a reputable company in Brighton but it seems that the items have come from China. Scam.

Wish I had looked at the Reviews before purchasing from Hazel & May which I thought was located in Brighton, not China. Company is a complete scam and the product quality is dire...cheap plastic and fake suede - typical of anything made in China. Boots also took over two weeks to arrive.

All I'd say is AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I am reporting them to the Report Fraud, the Insolvency Service and Citizens Advice in the hope they get closed down and don't continue to dupe people

I am so annoyed at myself as I usually read Trustpilot reviews for sites that I haven't purchased from before - this time I didn't and boy was it one that I should have checked out - the 'shoes' arrived - both supposed to be a size 6 but 4 cm difference between the 2 pairs - they STINK and the quality is APPALLING!!!! Now realise that I have to return to China - appreciate that my geography isn't great but even I know that that is nowhere near Brighton!! If I could give zero stars then I would!!!!

I stupidly ordered from this company before checking reviews. Shoes arrived today, very cheap materials and poor finish. No way to get your money back! Learn from my mistakes. The product looks nothing and I mean nothing like they claim.. steer clear, complete rip offs

If only I had checked Trust Pilot before purchasing from this company. As stated by other reviewers the quality of the shoes purchased was cheap hard plastic - not as described. The website appeared to be a shop based in Brighton which it clearly isn’t. Return policy not valid - offered other items at a discounted rate but no refund. I will be taking refund up with credit card company.

So wish I had read these reviews before ordering a Christmas Jumper. As others have said, it came from China and not Brighton, arrived after Christmas and is very poor quality. When I asked about return, I received an email telling me I had to pay return postage to China and that should it be 'lost in transit' I wouldn't receive my refund. I also saw another advert for a company in Bristol selling the same items. I can't remember both names but one name was 'Miles'. So it seems this is a countrywide dupe.

Be aware this company is not a boutique in Brighton, the shoes are not as shown, mine arrived this morning, after several days, in rubbish plastic bag and the smell of chemical when you open the bag you know you have been taken in, and the easy returns they offer is not true either, you have to contact them for a label and at your own cost return to China

I would give no stars if I could. I ordered a Christmas sweatshirt, supposedly half price. It took over 2 weeks to arrive and it clearly comes from China and is horrible quality and badly sized, and had no labels attached. Would strongly advise against ordering from them

This is not of good quality,no label. It is not a genuine British company, l don't know if they exist in Brighton??
Took weeks to receive it.
Please avoid ordering from this fake company.
I will be giving mine to a charity shop if they even want it.

Absolute scam. Not Brighton, not leather, not orthopaedic. Over a month delivery time from order. Shoddy plastic shoes with completely flat footbed, no arch support and delivered from China. I avoid Amazon now because it's all cheap Chinese knock-offs but got these through a small ad online and was duped by the fake Hazel & May Brighton branding. I ordered 2 pairs size 3.5 and got 1 pair size 3 and 1 pair size 4! I'm now supposed to return them to China at my own cost. A complete rip-off. AVOID AVOID AVOID

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I spent nearly £50 on loafers and when they eventually arrived 4 weeks later they look nothing like the photo on the website. They have told me it's just lighting on the photo but they are a different colour, different material and the leather you see on the website photo are nowhere to be found on the shoes I received. I asked for a full refund and have been offered a replacement pair of shoes - why would I do that to get another pair of cheap shoes! I wish I'd read the review first and I hope this review stops someone else from being scammed!!!!!!!! Update, I've just been offered a goodwill 10% refund which will equate to around £4.70 or I can return the item to China!! - I've take the 'goodwill' refund and will dispose of the shoes and hope that this review and others that I leave will prevent others from being duped!!!!!

Absolutely dreadful. Do NOT buy from this company . Delivery late and poor quality - a Christmas jumper that arrived several days after Christmas . When tried to return they attempted to avoid it by making other offers that were not then fulfilled . Then claimed they did not get my email cancelling all further dealings in a reply to that email!! They do not comply with consumer legislation and it is in reality impossible to get a refund….

Complete and utter scam, portraying a shop in Brighton founded by two women. It's just a front for selling cheap trash from China. Very long delivery and no decent refund policy which costs more to return than the cheap goods are worth. Not even worth the one star review. Avoid this company that is just ripping people off

This company claims to be a UK company based in Brighton but it is nothing of the sort. It is a front for shipping shoddy tat from China - and I fell for it. I ordered a "sweater" which was some horrid synthetic item with a design printed on it and some shoes which didn't even nearly fit.
When I contacted the company to arrange a return it took lots - and lots - of emails to convince them I didn't want a partial refund or other items (of dubious quality). I was eventually provided with a return address and a package has been sent today. It remains to be seen whether I get my money back, but at least the shoddy items are no longer in my house. I wouldn't even take them to a charity shop.
Steer clear.

They advertise that they are based in Brighton - absolute rubbish. The product is poor, not at all like those that are advertised. I asked to return, they offered me a free replacement item (retain the originals) or 50% store credit to purchase in the future. I asked for 50% refund and would donate the shoes to charity. Not accepted. Return are to China with all costs met by the purchaser. Do not buy from them.

I ordered a Xmas jumper from what I thought was a Brighton Uk store . Eventually I received a T shirt that was huge and very smelly . The material was like dishcloth and if I thought I would get anywhere sending it back I would . It was nothing like the advert and at £30 a rip off . I kept receiving ai emails saying the product was on way even before I queried it coming . DO NOT BUY from a company that has a fb page which is clearly AI . I was caught , by a cheap skate company , which face book and instagram should disolve .

They are absolute scammers . I’m reporting them to trading standards . They don’t say you’ve got to send the stuff back to china . Apparently the sellers have to refund the money and arrange a collection at thier cost . But they will try to wiggle out of it. So everyone on here should report them to trading standards , International trading standards I think are the ones we all need to contact . I’ve checked out the company on companies house and there’s a hazelmay registered in London the address is a flat and the CEO is a woman called Jacqueline , whether that’s the company I don’t know .

Don't buy! The Christmas jumper promised for delivery at the beginning of January finally arrived on December 30, despite pledges from the company that it was "in transit" on December 11. The quality was very poor and bore only a passing resemblance to the promised product. I was offered a free product - just pay the postage - but the website could not be accessed and the company was well hidden elsewhere. The jumper arrived with a 15% off next purchase voucher - but no details how to use it. And I wouldn't want anything from this company which probably has as much to do with Brighton as my cat!
