Having never had a dog before and with two daughters terrified of them, I was initially worried about finding the perfect breeder. Thankfully, we discovered Hershcoco, and it turned out to be a stroke of luck. My first conversation with Terry was enlightening; he shared the story of how he began with labradors and detailed his current breeding practices. It was instantly apparent how professional his operation was and, more importantly, how deeply he cared for his dogs.In no time, I paid the deposit, and our journey to dog ownership began! From then on, Terry and Claire, along with their kids, were extremely generous with their time, allowing us several visits to meet our future furry family member. This frequent contact was crucial, especially given my children's initial fear of dogs. I'm thrilled to say that this completely resolved their anxiety, just as Terry predicted. Ruby, our wonderful puppy who is nearly six months old now, has become their best friend, dispelling the old notion of dogs being only a man's best friend.We keep Terry's number—and those of Ruby’s siblings' owners—on speed dial for any questions, and they are always incredibly helpful with their advice. If you're considering bringing a Labrador into your life, I doubt you'll find a better experience than the one Terry and his family offer.

Absolutely amazing experience right from our first visit. Terry his family gave our puppy the best start to life. They kept us up to date every step of the way and were happy for us to visit frequently to see our little man grow. They have been supportive and given lots of really useful advice throughout and were always happy to answer any queries. They setup a helpful WhatsApp group for the new owners and still keep in touch to check everything is going well while our puppies are settling in. We are so pleased we found them and couldn't be happier and more in love with our boy. We can't thank them enough for the fantastic start they gave him and for helping to complete our family.

From the honesty to the tailored advice, the love and care put in to creating this amazing ‘Hershcoco’ family is obvious from the start. As breeders they get to know every single pup to ensure the buyers know exactly what they’re getting.

Their level of care continues after the sale too. They respond to every question from the litter family WhatsApp group and tailor the advice to suite all circumstances. I’ve found this group no different to antenatal / NCT. Invaluable source of everything you need as a first time pup family.

Terry and family have been helpful and supportive, a genuinely nice family. We found Terry knowledgeable and caring. The support is continuing in a WhatsApp group with Terry and the other new puppy owners from the litter. Our 9 week old pup is content, sleeps through the night and is generally thriving. He has obviously had a good start in life.

Hershcocokennels were recommended to us and we have truly been impressed from start to finish. We met our puppy at just 2 weeks and were fortunate enough to be able to visit her weekly until collection. Terry and his family made the process easy and answered all our questions and provided as much information as possible. Our puppy is a delight and a true reflection of the hard work put in from the start by Terry and his whole family. Would highly recommend.

We were first timers in the PPP (puppy purchase process) and from beginning to end HershcocoKennels made the process so very easy.

We went to view the puppies at 4/5 weeks old and at that time also met the puppies mum and Terry and his lovely family. We then collected Coco at 8 weeks.
On the two occasions we met Terry and the family they answered any questions that we had and made the PPP a great pleasure.
On Terry's advice we now have a FB group that the puppy owners, and Terry, are members of and it gives us the chance to ask questions and share experiences. Would highly recommend HershcocoKennels for your puppy needs.

From even before the birth Terry was amazing. Lots of information and always happy to answer any questions. We got the most amazing puppy. Very placid, and good natured which reflects directly on how Terry and his family raised the puppy for 8 weeks. Would 1000% recommend Terry

We went to a lot of effort to find a reputable Labrador breeder and we’re so lucky to have found Terry. Caring, thorough, knowledgeable and trustworthy, he really deserves five stars — if not more. Our darling choc lab girl is intelligent and laidback, surely a sign of her quality breeding and start in life.

As someone who had previously never owned a dog before and with two daughters who were petrified of dogs…(!), I was a little concerned that we might not find the right breeder to help. We couldn’t have been any luckier in finding Hershcoco. The first call I had with Terry involved him explaining everything about their business from how he first started to own labradors to the current breeding arrangements. It became immediately clear as to how professional the set up was and even more importantly, how much he loved his dogs.

Within minutes I had paid a deposit and we were on our way to owning a dog! From that point on, the generosity in time provided by Terry and Claire (and the kids!) was amazing and we were fortunate to visit our soon to be new addition to the family on a number of occasions. This was so important in light of my children’s fear of dogs. I am very pleased to say that it solved the issue and as Terry had indicated was likely, Ruby (our amazing almost 6 month old puppy) is now the best of friends with both of them. So much for a dog being a man’s best friend….!!!

Terry remains on speed dial (as do the other owners of Ruby’s brothers and sisters), so any questions we have, continue to be answered so helpfully.

If you are thinking of getting a Labrador, I don’t believe there will be a better service than the one provided by Terry and his family.

From start to finish, Terry and the family were wonderful. Walked away with our puppy feeling very comfortable and informed. The support doesnt end there though, always available for a friendly bit of advice whenever needed. Thoroughly recommended

He let us know about the next available litter and invited us to see all the dogs at his home.
He clearly cares about his dogs health and safety and knows what he's doing.
We were involved and informed at every stage of the process and everything ran smoothly: preparation, birth of the pups, initial care, paperwork, right up to collection and beyond. Terry still offers sound advice on everything from settling in to health, feeding and training.
The good breeding and initial care & treatment meant our pup settled in with us very quickly and we are enjoying every minute with her.

We had been looking for a gun Labrador from a good breeder , who treated their dogs well and new what they was doing .My puppy has settled in very well and quickly.She slept all night from
Her first night with us .She loves children and cuddles from my grandchildren. Quick to learn to toilet out side .Terry is there to support you and answer any questions.
I would say Terry is a excellent family run dog breeder .The puppy’s are looked after well and are treated like a family member.

A excellent breeder

After hearing the horror stories from various friends who had bought puppies in the last year or so, we were keen to buy a gun labrador from a reputable breeder, who cared about and treated their dogs well and was recommended by someone we knew. Our friends bought a puppy from Terry (having been recommended by their friend who bought a puppy from him two years ago).
Our puppy has settled in very quickly - only cried once during her first night, thereafter sleeping through the night. Extremely quick to toilet outdoors. Also very comfortable with being handled by our ten year old son. Our puppy is not fazed by fireworks or household noise/equipment. She is very socialable. Just taken her to the vets for her second vaccination and our vet is happy with her. (Our puppy had been microchipped, had her first vaccination and flea and worming treatment before being handed to us. Also Terry provided a copy of his vets check up of our puppy. Puppy's mum and dad were also DNA tested and eye screened, results of which were shared).
Terry was transparent, answered all my questions and shared pictures and videos of the puppy. We were able to see our puppy interact with her mum and also to evaluate what her mum was like including temperament. Both mum and puppy are gorgeous, well looked after and very socialable.
Terry also set up a whats app group for the owners of all the puppies in the litter and himself. Terry has responded promptly to any questions asked, and as it is via Whats app, everyone can see the questions people are asking and responses given. If we decide to add to our dog family, Terry will be our first point of contact.

An excellent family run dog breeder - business run out of own home and their relationship with the animals is a family one rather than any hint of puppy factory. Owner communication group facilitated and rigorous on paperwork, puppy health and customer care. If you’re looking for a chocolate lab then look no further than these guys!
