Fantastic experience
I was really impressed with the service I received at Hertility. I opted for a consultation call after my hormone results, which was fantastic. Danni explained my results well and provided great steps for moving forward with my journey, which I was able to book very easily through their fertility partners. She was encouraging and helpful, allowing me to feel much more confident in my fertility journey. Good service ruined by exploiting my health issues
I did have a good experience with Hertility - up until they gave me really difficult news about how my ovarian reserve and thought it wise to bombard me with marketing emails and other constant reminders about painful information. Why on earth would you tell someone that they are almost definitely going to need IVF at 28 and then continuously email with more messaging about it? I mean it was at least 6 emails a week. It felt cold and like their marketing team were more interested in making money from referral scans etc. than actually helping women. Maybe I’m just being sensitive but I think pushy marketing emails to make a buck off of incredibly difficult news is callous.

Wasn’t impressed with the after care
Wasn’t impressed with the after care. Spend a lot of money on a test and you get worrying results back but have to spend more money to speak to someone and I have no idea what my results mean as it wasn’t explained very well.

Insensitive and isolating
The instructions on how to complete the test were really clear, but the way that results are delivered are impersonal, when results can be life impacting. I understand that having a person explain your results should cost money - as you are using a professional service. But personally, I don't think anyone should have to read their results and then have to spend more money to speak to a person. Five minutes after reading my results and processing some difficult news, I was then got a spam asking me to recommend the app to a friend. Insensitive.

Eh - so/so, unpleasant blood test made worse by poor instructions
Edit: pretty disappointed by Hertility's response. Seems they respond to every critical review the same. As mentioned in my original review, instructions should have been clearer BEFORE I open the box as there are number of things you need to do to prepare for the blood sample. If you want assistance from someone to come round and take your blood sample it's an extra £40. While they've said in the response "it's optional" to download the app, you won't get a video without it.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend buying a fertility test if you have regular periods (just book in with your GP on the 3rd day of your cycle). Remember that you are entitled to free healthcare. As someone who has irregular periods, it did allow me to get some information that I didn't get from other blood tests I'd done with my Doctor. I won't repeat blood tests with hertility however as the real benefit was getting to take a blood test on day 3 of my cycle. I'll be taking follow up bloods with my GP.
The box arrived on time and customer service are quick to respond to queries. However, as someone else mentioned, the instructions are complicated and are drip fed through emails. It's not until you get the box and open it up that you find the instructions in full. While that might not be an issue in other blood tests, it is an issue here because of the pre-requisites needed to take the test. You need to (1) take the test on day 3 of your cycle (2) take it after 8 hours of fasting - neither of which are mentioned until you open the box and read the instructions which means the user may be on day 4 or 5 of their cycle and have already eaten by the time they come to open the box and take the test. I'd already contacted hertility before purchasing to ask them what day to take the test but I wouldn't have known otherwise and I didn't know about the fasting, hence I ended up having to wait 6 weeks to take the test after the initial 3rd day of my cycle.
The rest itself took my an hour and 3 fingers to get enough blood. That's not hertility's fault as frankly, I'm not sure how else you'd be able to take a blood test like this. Many women have irregular periods and can't book an appointment in advance at a pharmacist as they don't know the date of the third day of their cycle.
My recommendation would be for hertility to do some user testing. They should also provide a clear video a day or so before the kit is due to arrive which shows how to take the test (without making me download yet another app, please!) and cut back on the other emails which provide random bits and pieces of info without providing any real value. I'd also note the need to have fasted for 8 hours and be on day 3 of your cycle to the front of the box so the user can plan when to take the test.

We understand that taking the test can be tricky for some, which is why extensive work has gone into making sure we provide suitable and supportive instructions. Within the kit, we provide a step-by-step instruction booklet that includes pre-testing recommendations and helpful tips. In this instruction booklet, we also encourage customers to reach out to our support team if they have any difficulties, especially if they’re struggling to collect their sample after using two lancets. Our team is always happy to assist and we also offer to arrange a sample support call service where we can hop on a video call with you to guide you through the collection process. I can see that this service was offered to you by the customer support team prior to your sample collection, along with tips and advice to help make your testing day more efficient. These calls have been really successful in helping our customers collect viable samples without difficulties!
Whilst we appreciate you may not want to download an app, we include a QR code that is printed in our box to provide you with further support on your collection day. We have created a comprehensive video guide for those who prefer visual instructions. Our Hertility app comes with a test companion with clear step-by-step guidance and follow-up steps to support you. However, we completely understand that not everyone would want to download our app, it is completely optional to do this.
We take all customer feedback seriously, as it helps us learn and grow. While GPs can provide some hormone testing, routine GP tests typically do not cover the full range of hormones that we assess, and they are rarely conducted as standard. Hertility offers a clinically comprehensive report that goes far beyond standard testing.
Your personalised report is several pages long and has been carefully crafted by qualified doctors who specialise in women’s health and gynaecology. It includes a breakdown of each hormone tested, why it was measured, what your specific levels mean, and how they may impact you. Each report undergoes a strict quality control process to ensure accuracy and value. It also includes actionable next steps and clinically guided advice tailored to your health concerns.

The questionnaire was simple and easy to follow, as was the at home test. The communication and instructions at each stage were clear and precise. Feels a little bit like a scam where they’re trying to get you to pay more money
Found the process to order the test unclear as was expecting to be tested for many more of the advertised hormones than I was. A summary specifying the things you will be tested for would have been helpful as part of the payment process. Found the recommended follow ups very pushy and doubt a doctor without financial incentive would have proposed follow up scans, retesting and calls for what I’ve been told were perfectly normal results especially given the health context provided. Would because of this probably not recommend to others, but the actual process to take the sample and getting the test results were quick and easy.

Your kit may include up to 10 hormones depending on the answers to Prior to purchasing the kit, each customer is shown their bespoke hormone panel, in case you have any questions to ask our customer service team regarding this before purchase.
We have done extensive research to ensure that our pricing is fair, and in comparison to private clinics, which in some cases, customers could be saving thousands of pounds. We acknowledge the need for accessible and affordable healthcare. We strive to balance making our services affordable whilst also keeping it high quality. We do offer the option to pay in instalments which can be selected at the checkout.
Your Hertility report is several pages long, and we have spent years building a clinically comprehensive resource that not only details your hormone levels but also considers lifestyle factors, why each hormone was tested, and what your results may mean for you. At Hertility we have a duty of care to signpost to you to further investigations if the Doctor deems it necessary. We do not want you to feel obligated to carry out the next steps that your doctor has recommended through Hertility. We do encourage all of our customers to take their results to their GP for further investigations.
