Avoid.

We booked online and paid upfront to hire a standard car over a month in advance. Upon turning up to collect it, no car was available. The staff in the office said it wasn’t their problem and expected us to contact the call centre. The call centre just offered to cancel our booking or waitlist us with no promise of a car. Still waiting on refund from Hertz.

No apology offered on the telephone. No attempt to provide any sort of service. No real help. Massive waste of time. Went to Europcar on Reforma. Sorted.

This company isn't the real hertz, it's a company pretending to be hertz and using a similar logo. They are a scam company. In cancun the real hertz is around the corner from this place

Nos recibieron muy amables
Teniamos reservado auto desde 6 meses antes, cuando llegamos a recogerlo, aplican cobros adicionales, el seguro lo pedi para terceros solamente y de repente me dicen que ya no estaba el auto disponible que nuestra “categoría” de auto no está disponible y nos ofrecieron una categoría más alta como reemplazo y nos quieren cobrar 1,800 pesos extra/día. El auto de nuestra categoría llegaría después y que no habia garantía asi que perdimos 2 horas.
Cuando tratamos de cancelar todo está hecho para que sea difícil. La página no sirve, los números telefónicos no contestan y al final fue una pesadilla con Hertz cuando debio ser una vacacion agradable.
Rente con otra empreza

Do not use hertz in Mexico. You will be scammed. I was charged for insurance which tripled the daily rate and then told a made up story when I return the car that a part was missing and wasn’t covered by insurance and charge more money.

There isn’t any customer. I wouldn’t trust them with anything. Not a good company. There isn’t any way to address issues.

DO NOT RENT WITH HERTZ they will ripp-you off. I booked a car with Hertz online for Hertz Villahermosa Airport they had a 65% off promo. But impossible to find the cost for insurance. I figured it will be about the same than other rental company. When I arrived at the airport, they were out of the car I asked for and upgraded me at extra cost. That cost plus insurance cost. I end-up with a cost of rental 4 times my original cost, (other rental company were closed) I felt coerced and robbed. Never again with Hertz

Rentamos un auto y cuando llegamos a recogerlo, aplican cobros adicionales, nos retrasan la entrega porque nuestra “categoría” de auto no está disponible y nos ofrecen la categoría más alta como reemplazo y nos quieren cobrar 2000mex extra por día. El auto de nuestra categoría llegaría 6 horas después de lo planeado y no hay garantía de que lo haga a esa hora.
Cuando tratamos de cancelar todo está hecho para que sea difícil. La página no sirve, los números telefónicos no sirven o no contestan y al final nos querían cobrar multa.

Its incredible how bad a company can be, I arrive to hertz culiacan with a reservation for a vehicle, after 45 min they told me, we don't have your vehicle but we have another one for you i was happy until they told me that i have to pay 5 times more than original reservation, i ask why ?? She told me because its the only one we have, take it or leave it (she was gross eating while she talks, very unprofessional, I said ok I will take it, I feel assaulted but no option, then she said ups sorry I don't have that vehicle neither, really !!!!!!
She ask me to seat and wait 11 hours that MAYBE she will have something for me, so I ask what a my reservation?reservations?? Answer was a laugh and said it's a false hook, I don't know what to said and just walk away, for sure NEVER COME BACK TO HERTZ IS A BIG MAFIA, besides they take money from your credit card that it's not in contract
Please don't even look into Hertz, you will suffer a lot and loose lots of money and time

Estafadores! Te cobran una reserva super economica en la pagina pero cuabdo vas al counter solo tienen autos de alta gama disponibles, pretendiendo que uno pague un 500% del valor original de la reserva (sin contar seguros). Mucho cuidado con Avasa Hertz! Todavia no logro que me reembolsen x la reserva original

Do not reserve with Hertz Mexico. We booked a car at Oaxaca Airport from Hertz a few months prior to our holidays. Unfortunately, when we tried to pick up a car at Hertz in Oaxaca Airport, it turned out that there was no car available for us, and that there were at least 7 other people on a waiting list before we would be able to get a car. We were basically told by the Hertz employee, that no car would be available for us on the day of our reservation. This is despite the fact that we even went to the office a few days prior to check in with them if everything was fine with our reservation, which they said it was. On the day of the reservation, the staff at the Hertz till explained to us that the terms and conditions of our reservation stipulated that we would only be able to get a car, if there was availability. However, I reviewed the terms and conditions alongside our reservation, and there was absolutely no INFORMATION about this in our reservation. Basically if you book with them, have an alternative plan, as they WILL NOT guarantee a reservation for you.

rentamos un auto en línea y al llegar a la oficina de Cancún para ser exacto nos dijeron que el vehículo estaba dañado y que no tenían vehículos disponibles nos reembolsaron después de 6 meses.

This is best service in Mexico but avoid to book online cars or go to small branch, best place for rent a car is Cancun airport, they have more then 2000 cars

BUT I was booket 1 month ahead and we had besides that emailed with them.

Extremely stressfull to be standing there with 4 kids and have planned the planetrip, so we could drive to town before dark.

No explanation and no real excuse.
I was so frustrated and angry.

OK Rent a Car helped my later with the precise same car for the 20 day rental, same terms and I saved around 1.000 US.
(Hertz where 50% more expensive)

This company is an absolute SCAM. after 6 months of renting a car with them they haven't given me my $200 dollar security deposit back, even tho I've literally harassed them in every possible customer service line and opened a ticket on a sketchy website they never respond to.

PLEASE, IF YOU ARE RENTING A CAR IN CDMX I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU GO WITH "ENTERPRISE". HERTZ IS A TOTAL SCAM, I HAVE NEVER FELT MORE BETRAYED AND ABUSED BY A COMPANY IN MY LIFE. THEY'RE THIEVES.

Terrible experiencia. Nunca renten con Hertz para empezar pagué la renta con 2 meses de anticipación online derivado que me salía con descuentos. Llegue a la sucursal de entrega el día y hora señalando y no tenían el vehículo, me querían cobrar otro vehículo más caro, sabiendo que no era mi responsabilidad.

Y el día de la entrega del vehículo te inventan que tiene daños para recuperar los descuentos que te aplicaron al principio, por favor eviten corajes y no renten con Herz, no son nada honestos, hay pequeñas agencias que tienen precios más accesibles y no te engañan.

Do not use Hertz Mexico.
First they overbook, then they systemically give locals cars before foreigners. One of the ways they do this is by pretending your credit cards don't work, so your reservation is invalid, so they then claim your deposit.
They are trained to give cars to locals in preference to foreigners on the grounds they are repeat customers.
I could go on more, but that enough. Never never never use them.

La experiencia y el servicio al cliente son terribles , hablan de entrega en el aeropuerto pero en realidad no lo llevan a cabo , me cobraron más de lo que decía la reserva y aparte una comisión a wisecars de 361 que en ningún lugar dijeron debía pagar, sé que parece como la opción más económica pero no lo es , no lo recomiendo

El día 13.10 hice una reservacion para vuelos CDMX-Campeche (7 días, del 1.11-8.11). La hice con Aeromexico porque ellos me ofreción incluir en la reservacion del vuelo una reservacion de un coche que puedo rentar con Hertz. El precio de la renta del vehículo se incluyo en el precio del vuelo (precio simbolico de 1 Peso).

Llegando a Campeche el día 1.11 a las 6pm, Hertz comento que no tienen ningun vehículo disponible para mi. Me aseguraron que me van a marcar esta misma noche o máximo el siguiente día para avisarme cuando puedo recoger el vehículo reservado.

No me marcaron este día, tampoco el siguiente en la manana. El día 2.11 medio día yo marce a Hertz y ellos me dijeron que no tienen coches disponibles este día pero probablemente el siguiente y mi reservacion sigue vigente (esta llamada esta grabada según Hertz). El 3.11 en la manana regrese al aeropuerto Campeche y Hertz me comento que mi reservacion ya no esta vigente pero con gusto puedo rentar un coche o camioneta a un precio de 1500 Pesos al día (coche) o 2500 Pesos al día (camioneta). Hertz argumenta que los coches se rentan si hay disponibilidad y si no hay, no se rentan.

Lo anterior me parece inaceptable. Primero hay una reservacion personalizada a mi nombre, segundo ellos tienen vehículos disponibles pero no las quieren rentar si no les parece el precio de la reservacion!

Lo que hace Hertz es un fraude al consumidor. El mecanismo sirve a Aeromexico para vender más boletos (coche incluido) y a Hertz en cobrar montos exagerados a clientes desesperados que dependen de un vehículo en su destino. No acepte la oferta de Hertz de 1500 Pesos al día por un coche, rente con Europcar (otra agencia), pague 5500 Pesos del 3.11-8.11, menos que me hubiera cobrado Hertz pero más que el monto de la reservacion de 1 Peso.

Según mi investigación hay cienes si no miles de casos como el mio derivado a la relación Aeromexico/Hertz. EVITEN A HERTZ.

Un completo engaño su promoción del 60% del Buen Fin. El domingo 24 de noviembre llego a Hertz (Aeropuerto de Oaxaca) por mi vehículo. Después de esperar en fila por 1 hora, Elena González, quien me atendió, me felicita “por la excelente tarifa” que reservé, pero me dice que ya no tiene unidades del tipo de vehículo que reservé y me habían confirmado (Compacto Automático CCAR (B) CHEVROLET BEAT o similar). Me ofrece a cambio una camioneta Sienna Sedona, con el “detalle” de que el total de la renta será 5 veces mayor. Logré reclamarle por unos 5 minutos porque ella ya tenía mucha prisa por atender a los siguientes clientes que sí iban a rentar una camioneta. Solo me dijo que no podía hacer nada, que esa era mi única opción, que no me habían cobrado nada todavía y que en los Términos y Condiciones se especifica que está sujeto a disponibilidad (FALSO, lo comprobé después en el sitio web). A final de cuentas no renté nada, por supuesto, solo perdí 1 hora y pasé un mal rato, pero no me quedo así, cuanto antes acudo a la PROFECO a denunciar por publicidad engañosa. Si tienen una reserva con ellos, ¡piénsenlo 2 veces!

The officer made an offer for an additional insurance for 50$.
I accepted because car rental was about 100 $ and reasonbable.
all amounts on contract was in mexican currency and it is not very easy to convert in rapiditly by head to US$ after a long intercontinental flight.
Final debit on my credit card was 150 US$ for insurance only.
Claim to rentalcars did not solve, Hertz Mexico has no customer service in english on their website where one can directly contact.
Is someone out there who would pay more for insurance than car rental? Neither do i.
