Unexpected Bad Experience at Honey Baked Store
Over Christmas I had an absolutely horrible experience with My Local Store. It was so bad that store has lost my business. I buy a Christmas ham there each year and have for over a decade.
I went in this year. I asked for my charge to be split on 2 cards, as my bank card only had $20 left on it, and I wanted to put the rest on my $50 visa gift card, which itself didn't have enough to cover the charge.
I asked in advance the cashier assured me it was fine. She then proceeded to ring up $65 on my bank card causing an instant overdraft.
I asked for the manager, who was rude and immediately accusatory. Ignored the issue, refused to address it, except for saying loudly in front of the whole store repeatedly, "What do you want me to do about it, pay for it?!" This situation was mortifying and honestly unexpected.
I received no apology for the cashiers error. No offer to discount the product to make up for the error, no attempt to find any solution at all. I found the Lady Manager I was dealing with cold, unreasonable, and she honestly expected me to just leave the store and deal with it. I was intentionally made to look like I caused the problem, and was treated in the most horrible fashion as a customer.
After endless years of being a faithful customer. I
was dismayed that this is how a customer would be treated, especially during the holiday seasons. The absolute lack of professionalism that was displayed that day still bothers me. The experience left a negative feeling and impression, that I still get every time I drive by the store. I was so turned off by her actions, my yearly tradition of buying from there is over.
