This company agent pretended to be an IHG agent on the phone. Instead of getting the best rate you would get dealing direct with IHG, I got their "best" rate which was higher than what I would have gotten with IHG. In addition, I got no reward points . I did a lookup of the hotel's phone number on my phone, got a number labelled as front desk. The agent who answered impersonated the front desk of the Holiday Inn I thought I was calling. No once did anyone identify themselves or who they were working for. After someone saw my complaint, a Brianna S from hotelplanner.com reached out asking me to send the ITIN number to an email address. I never heard anything from "Brianna S" or anyone else from this deceptive scamming company. Be careful who you are dealing with when you think you are talking to IHG.

My experience with this company has been a nightmare from start to finish. First of all they trick you into thinking you are on the hotel’s official website. The reservation I mistakenly booked because of this deception was non-refundable. I tried to cancel it but couldn’t. They finally agreed to issue a voucher for a future trip but when I tried to use it- it did not work. I kept getting an “invalid” message. Communications with the company are frustrating. I got different answers from different people. I’m not sure why anyone would knowingly choose to book through this company as their prices are higher than booking direct with the hotel and the reservations are non-refundable in contrast to booking directly with the hotel. In addition their customer service is poor and they seem it make their money off scamming people rather than providing a legitimate service.

It is certainly not common practice for me to right a review for any business. However, the issue with Hotelplanner.com is 3 levels of frustration.

1) Communication: A) the 1800 number provided by the company keeps you on hold all day with a message that keeps stating you can leave a message. If you attempt to leave a call back number the message talks over with the option to leave a message again, over and over again.

2) Online Chat: This was a lot better option of two. When I attempted to use it from my iPhone, the first 2 times the connection was lost with the agent. So, my only recourse was to reach out via my computer systems.

3)Once I did, I reached out to a representative, I asked if it was possible to get a refund on the second night of a trip. Another party in my group had recently did the same thing as we both had been reaching out to this group for our reservations. Our reservations has the same stipulations etc. we even reserved at the same time. I asked the person please explain to be one reason why I was unable to get the reservation changes. She stated it was because it was non-refundable, which is stated nowhere on my receipt. The only cancellation policy listed on my receipt is: I will lose my first night if I am a non show and a lot of other stipulations. Anyway, I ask to speak with her supervisor and she sent there. In the end, they stated they reached out to the hotel and were denied the request to give my money back by the hotel and therefore I was denied. When I arrived at my hotel the hotel offered to refund my second night of the hotel and called Priceline to take the charge off for me. I received a call from Priceline and when I called Priceline back to take to them I was informed that I was unable to get the refund because I had a block in by account from hotelplanner.com who refused payment. I am not interested in my money but I want everyone anymore at this point I just want everyone to know how wrong this is.
