More ashes than coal, would never buy this product again

Far too much ash,when I started using house fuel it was good,now it's really gone down not much heat and have to deash regularly to keep going the ash smothers the fire when I deash i always get 2 ashpans off ash,as much ash as coal i put on I've used better than this it's not what they say it is will not buy again

I kick myself for buying your Smokeless Ovals.
I wouldn’t mind having bought a ton of these, if your claim as to being low ash and easy to light was true.
So much ash, it is horrendous.
I have always burnt a different fuel, why I didn’t once again, I can only kick myself, too cheap reeled me in. Your ovals take ages to catch, and does not give out much heat.
I have never been so disappointed with a fuel.
They are your cheapest, and i now know why, they are not what you claim and i will not use you again, Sorry,
once bitten as they say.

Order was delivered and dumped on the drive asked the driver if he could stack it in the garage which is 3 metres away as I am disabled and can hardly walk and his reply was that he is only paid to deliver I was quite willing to pay him for his trouble but he just left it and went away, not a very good reflection on the supplier,very disappointed.

First there was the delivery fiasco
When ordering I could not get through on the phone, so had to order online. & didn’t have the option to specify a small delivery vehicle as we have in the past. I was given a delivery date & time that on the day kept getting later & later. I then got a message saying that my order had been returned to the depot. When I rang the depot, I was given another delivery date & time which kept changing throughout the day.
Then there was the quality of the fuel, it burned with bangs & loud cracks sending out hot coals which burned the carpet & even burned a hole in the sofa that I was sitting on. I complained to the company via Email & was offered a derisory £20 discount on my next order. I have used House fuel before, but I never will again

​I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with House Fuels. From the logistical nightmare of the delivery to the poor performance of the budget smokeless fuel, the entire process has been a headache.
​Delivery Failures
​The delivery experience was incredibly frustrating and lacked any real communication:
​Broken Promises: My delivery was originally scheduled for Monday, January 12th. It never arrived. It was then rescheduled for the 13th, which also passed with no delivery.
​Misleading Information: I was sent several delivery time slots that proved to be completely inaccurate.
​Logistical Errors: When the fuel finally arrived on the 14th, the driver went to the wrong street entirely, adding further delay to an already late order.
​Product Quality Issues
​The "budget" smokeless fuel is unfortunately not worth the saving. While it burns hot initially, the quality is some of the worst I have used:
​Massive Ash Content: It leaves behind "tonnes" of red ash that resembles fine gravel.
​Clinker Problems: The fuel produces significant clinker that clogs up the fire grate, requiring constant maintenance.
​Poor Heat Retention: It burns hot but cools down far too quickly, making it inefficient for sustained heating. It feels like a very poorly manufactured product.
​Final Verdict
​The only reason this isn't a one-star review is that the company provided a £30 refund as an apology for the service and product quality. However, even with the discount, I cannot recommend this fuel. The amount of waste and the stress of the delivery outweigh the cost savings, and the customer service staff stated that the labelling of low ash on the bags referred to low ash content in the smokeless fuel and not what it gave off, which means she didn't know what she was on about as they don't put ash in smokeless fuels.

Great price and delivery communication. The delivery driver was excellent and very helpful. Would definitely buy again.

Bought a ton of their steam coal it burns well when it gets going, but boy is it soaked and it take ages to get going and subsequently supply and sort of heat, I cannot imagine it getting that wet by being exposed the elements. Additionally the amount of slack in each bag (easily 10%) is a bit of a con.

Very foolishly I believed the information on the bag!
The only good feature was a very helpful delivery driver!
As far as the coal, I might just as well bought 25kg bags of clay!
The amount of ash was incredible, as fine as talcum powder and goes everywhere.
Heat output was absolutely zilch, and with all air vents open, I achieved a glow!, as a previous reviewer said, I had to mix hardwood logs to keep it going,
Needless to say, I won’t be buying it again!!

Good heat output long burn time.

Very disappointed with the premium smokeless coal i ordered 40 bags when i have been using it some bags are really good but other bags were poor quality not burning well creating ash I will not be placing another order with this company

Mixed experience. Fuel seems well priced. Had a pallet delivered the year before last and they dropped the pallet on the drive so we could move it to where we wanted it. Had another pallet delivered recently and the truck had no way of lifting the pallet off. So even though we had a pallet mover, as they couldn't get it of the truck we had to hand bail it all a bag at a time, a whole ton!

I ordered premium Coal which was supposed to be yellow bags 25kg bags it said premium on the bag ,
the coal what arrived? Where 10 KG in the bags and the bags are red and say standard coal , I ordered premium it is misleading advertisements after really hard work trying to contact them they are not interested will not be buying again from them customer service and misleading advertisements is disgusting instead of premium they sent standard coal

Billy the delivery guy was very pleasant & helpful in delivering my order he stacked everything neatly in my storage shed as always a 1st class company to do business with thanks guys

First and last time using this outfit! Phone number does not work and they don't answer emails, still waiting for delivery information!

Absolutely disgusting after using this company for many years with no problem my last ton of Burnrite smokeless fuel came with the contents of every bag soaking wet.( is this trying to push up the weight ) The consequences of burning this soaking wet Burnrite caused excessive amount of tar to form and spread everywhere this was confirmed from a independent professional. I had 1/2 a ton delivered in march and all the bags are full of soaking wet fuel ( I just checked ). My chimney sweep of 11 years said he had never seen my chimneys so bad caused by burning the wet fuel. I will not be using this supplier anymore and I recommend you think twice before using them,

Smokeless ovals budget price. Low heat, maximum ash even on full draught, awful, never again, used to be a reputable supplier, not anymore.
