Bad costumer service and wrong website on my domain
The customer service is not working and they ignore any of my mails since 3 months. I'm trying to transfer my domain away from Hover, because it is directing to a website that I do not own and they do not allow me to make any changes on that. There is no help and I'm not able to get any information how to transfer and how to fix the wrong redirecting. Since I told them that I want to transfer my domain away from Hover, there is no communication and help coming from their site. I'm really disappointed and can not recommend to buy any domain from Hover.
Ventas y publicidad falsas
Con el nombre de esta empresa me llego publicidad de un dron espectacular el cual compré, pero me mandaron otro producto muy inferior y no se donde reclamar, pues no facilitan dirección, ni teléfono correo electronico falso total una estafa monumental.
A company NOT to be trusted EVER
A company not to be trusted, Huver, bought a refurbished Dyson off this company 19/12/2025 that arrived broken, contacted the company straight away to arrange replacement and collection of the broken one, after several e mails and phone calls with broken promises and fake every or dpd delivery notifications were now on the 3 March 2026, phone line disconnected still no hover and stuck with the broken one, I’m not the first don’t be the next avoid this company like the plague, unless you have money to throw away
Worst email-provider ever!
Worst email-provider ever!
Been a loyal costumer for over 20 years (nameplanet.com first) and suddenly they delete my account without notice. Claiming it wasn't renewed on time. Never got an email with a reminder to renew the account.
Don't EVER join them!!!!
You have 50/50 shot that it will work…
You have 50/50 shot that it will work any given day. I check the outage page and it shows no outage.
On the days it is working you can not block spam at all and It takes forever to access your email.
Ferry Operator of the year !!!
For a company that won Ferry Operator of the Year 2025, the judges obviously didn’t take year end into consideration, not sure what’s happening now, as the hover is down once again to Tech issues, as the cost is the most expensive way of crossing the Solent, they do offer the Fast Cat as a replacement service !! But not sure if they are offering the same cost as a Fast Cat Journey !!!
Too bad
No problem as a domain administrator
As an email service, I've only encountered problems after problems and I eventually had to switch to another service. Truly disappointing.
Stole my domain ;/
Hover used to protect the domains you looked up. However, I looked up and obscure one yesterday- went to buy it today - and no longer available. :/. Shame on you Hover. Lost your value over godaddy, etc.
Over 14+ years but no more
Hover sent me a re-subscription reminder to my email address and - 4 days and after the domain has been automatically renewed - I tried to log in to manage my domain but seemed the browser had forgotten my user name & password. So I submitted my email address and asked them to send the info there, but the system said "email not found" (yes! the one they had been sending emails to!!) then I showed TWO live support dudes the screenshot of their previous email and asked them to just send the info there, but they insist on first asking for my name, email (duh), phone which i gave, only to find a email asking for the same info plus some more like before "I can proceed". Just totally fed up with all that! Cancelled my automatic payment to them and will move my domain elsewhere when it expires in less than a year's time. Even if they were to do something sneaky preventing me from doing so, I will just get another domain instead of wasting my time & money with them!! [Added] (2018-2022) US$39.99 -> (2023) $40.99 -> (2024) $43.99 -> (2025) $54.99!! All auto-renewals for the same domain, no extra requested. Records prior to 2018 prolly lost.
They charged $100 to restore a domain
My .eu domain expired and they charged $100 to restore it.
My credit card expired, their warning emails went to spam and the first I knew the domain had expired was when it didn't work. I contacted them within 48 hours and they charged me $100 to get it back online.
I've been a loyal customer for 10 years and they made no concessions.
There are plenty of other better companies out there. Use them.
Move away from this registrar
Hover terminated my domain & email service by mistake, although they had successfully charged me for its renewal. Following the termination I was immediately unable to use my email service. When I called them to reactiveate the service, they requested extra money as they claimed I had been refunded the renewal amount which was not true. In order to get my email back working, I had to pay them an extra $34.17 in addition to the initial $18.99 for the renewal, that was never returned to me. I am deeply dissapointed as I'd been an early Tucows partner since 1994 and a customer of Hover domains since 2012. I am now moving to another registrar as I do not trust these guys any more.
Hover.com Shines Bright: A 5-Star Domain Experience That Defies the Critics!
I've been using Hover.com for domain registration and management for the past three years, and I have to say, I was genuinely surprised to see all those 1-star reviews floating around online—my experience has been nothing short of fantastic from start to finish! As someone who manages multiple websites for personal and business projects, Hover has made the entire process seamless, reliable, and hassle-free. Let me break down why they've earned every bit of this 5-star rating from me.
First off, their user interface is incredibly intuitive and clean—no cluttered dashboards or confusing navigation like I've dealt with elsewhere. Registering a new domain takes just minutes; you search, select, and checkout without any aggressive upsells or hidden fees popping up to derail you. They include free WHOIS privacy protection with every domain, which is a huge plus for keeping my personal info safe from spammers and scammers—something that's often an extra charge with other registrars.
Pricing is straightforward and competitive, especially for .com, .net, and other popular extensions, and I appreciate how transparent they are about renewals with no surprise hikes. Transferring domains in or out is a breeze; I moved over a few from another provider, and their support team guided me through it effortlessly via chat and email, responding within hours every time. Speaking of support, their customer service is top-notch—knowledgeable, friendly, and actually helpful, not just scripted responses. I've had zero downtime or issues with DNS management, and their email hosting add-on is simple to set up with reliable delivery and spam filtering.
Hover also stands out for its privacy focus and no-nonsense approach; they don't bombard you with ads or try to sell you unrelated services, which keeps things professional and efficient. Overall, they've handled everything from custom domain emails to quick renewals flawlessly, saving me time and stress.
If you're on the fence because of those negative reviews, give Hover a shot—I promise you won't be disappointed. They're my go-to registrar now, and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a straightforward, dependable domain service. 5 stars all the way!
Canceled Email
If you have an email and move the domain away, they will cancel your email and tell you they don't support emails without the domain being with them. It's not like you can move back with a registrar lock—WOW!
Avoid this shoddy company
Avoid this shoddy company. Their web interface is bugged with com.au domains preventing renewal with vague error messages. Customer service non existent and uncaring about the glaring issues. Didn't care my domain was at risk.
A great DNS Provider
A great provider of tld name registration services.
Hover is exceptionally awful
Hover is exceptionally awful. The app doesn't work effectively (links are broken, instructions unclear and challenging to follow, doesn't generate home model as promised). I did find a lot more descriptions of their poor performance online and I have to join the voices telling the truth about this product. My insurance company is forcing me to use them for a policy and it is a nightmare. Their customer service was rude and dismissive, gave me no help whatsoever. I wonder if they can't get real users and have figured this out as a way to get to people. It's a nightmare.
Started out so long ago with Hover they…
Started out so long ago with Hover they called themselves Netidentity. Over the years, one disappointment after another:
1. recently instituted or enforced a limit of 10 -12 emails on a "chain." (Previously i was able to send to all the groups i needed to reach and my largest is like 150.)
2. spam screening of incoming e-mails is among the worst and best described as oafish. (you can reclassify as "not spam" and the next e-mail from that sender will go back to spam. Even when i reported this issue to customer service they did nothing in keeping with the companies' strategy to exploit the end user without providing a satisfactory solution. AVOID Hover at all cost unless you enjoy being tortured by unresponsive dumb a$$es!
All in all, do some research and find a more customer oriented solution as this one seems managed by those who were made to wear "dunce" hats when they were in grammar school. I don't want to give up my e-mail address and pray Hover Mail will be sold to a more responsive/competent entity. If starting out, you would need your head examined to go with Hover over Gmail.
Customer Service Unresponsiveness
I bought a domain and asked for a cancellation in less than 12 hours of a working day. Hover said they would create a ticket and get back to me and they did not. I contacted them and they still did not response.
What a complete joke of a company
What a complete joke of a company.
I bought a domain, got a confirmation.
Then my account was got frozen?
I called customer service, and they told me that there are some discrepancies.
I asked what it was and how we can resolve it -- they told me that they are a private company so they cannot disclose.
Rudest experience I've ever had.
