Their support is deliberately terrible

Their support is deliberately terrible. Purchased domain names through a reseller of theirs and the owner died, company went out of business. Provided Hover with proof of all of the facts above including canceled checks to the reseller. Additionally I'm listed as the owner of the domain on their own website. Still they walk around like their hands are tied. They say this is insuffecient information. Begged them to send a confirmation email to the address they have on file for the owner of the domains. They refuse to do it. My domains are still their hostages. I'll have to wait another 20 months until they expire and just hope I can buy them (at another registrar) before somebody else does. These people are the absolute worst. Do not do business with them.

Hover is bad for business

On Hover, it is hard to find what you need to turn off auto renew and even navigate the online account. I used the online help feature and it did not resolve the issue. I emailed and the customer service agent who responded to my emails was not helpful. I called customer service multiple times and noone answered. I kept getting a repeating message. When I spoke to customer service today, the agent was argumentative and discounting of my experience. When a company is hard to get a hold of, makes opting out or navigating my account difficult, and has poor customer service. I tend to not trust it. Domain companies know that you are tied to your domain name especially if you've had it for years. I consider Hover's business practices exploitive and their customer service poor. I will find a new domain provider. My business has been built up enough and I am a small operation. I can get by on word of mouth referrals until I set up a new website.

They turned my email and website off. The only notification I got was the day before while I was on a cruise with no coverage available! I have advertising campaigns going in the middle of this that needs the website and email running. I don't think I'm going I be doing business with vista print after this either.

Hover turned on auto renew when I set…

They turned on auto renew when I set all my domains to off. This isn't the first time, but it is the last time. I transferred all my domains and all my customers domains to Porkburn using there bulk domain transfer. I was with Hover for more than 15 years and always recommended them to clients who wanted to maintain their own domain. I have now advised those clients to switch. I hate a thief and a liar. They will tell you they didn't do it. But, I never in 15 years ever set to auto renew. I don't give internet companies control to my finances, never. There support has gone from incredible to rude, condescending and email only support. What a shame from what they were to what they are. They should fire their CEO.

As a bonus, I discovered Porkbun is cheaper, Thanks Trust Pilot for the suggestion. And the transfer couldn't be any easier, so thanks Porkbun.

Worst customer care! Do not use this hosting and domain site!!

AVVISO: non usare questo sito. Non esiste servizio clienti, non ti rispondono nei 24 ore che ti danno come finestra per la risposta. Siamo alle 48 ore ed ancora problema con dominio e non risponde!

Service suspended without any information or reason provided.

I subscribed for a 40$/year plan for one of their email services, it was working fine for a day or two.

Then suddenly, I was unable to login, access my mailbox, etc.

I was also unable to reset my password or access my control center, the account seemed to be locked out of nowhere.

I immediately contacted their support via e-mail and social media, firstly received a reply after 3 days.

My account was locked for "verification", the subscription has been cancelled/refunded and I'm forced to call a international phone number to verify "something", which exactly support wasn't able to tell me.

I lost my account and access to the previously subscribed, already paid e-mail address, luckily it wasn't used for anything critical, otherwise I would be stranded now with lost access.

I asked for a possible solution and to communicate via e-mail further which was not possible.

Cannot recommend any of their services.

Support staff was polite but couldn't do anything for me.

I'm a normal EU customer, no sketchy stuff or whatever.

Normally, I don't write negative reviews at all.

Do NOT use!

Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service

Terrible customer service.

Website down for days, everything via email, say that mainly registering a fault number. No progress. Now going to have to transfer to a different hosting company. I would certainly not recommend them.

My Domain has been off since the 16th of May 2024

My Domain, mhlassociates.com, has been offline since Thursday the 16th of May 2024. I have logged two faults with the following numbers, #2750139 & #2750815 and have given Hover all the information they need to get the Domain back up. To get onto an online chat, I was asked to log in to my Hover account. It did this and was told that a 6-digit number would be sent to my email address. This was never received as with the Domain being down the mail accounts don't work, simple !! There was no other option to get a code, i.e. by mobile number. I found a UK number to call to see if I could get assistance, it doesn't work !! I have been in IT for over 30 years and have never seen support like this in my life. Nothing happens over the weekend and with the time difference between the US & the UK it's just a waiting game. Clients can't contact me, urgent appointments are not getting through, this is a disgrace. When my renewal comes up in January 2025 I will be moving to a Hosting Company with 24/7 support etc. This Domain has been active since 2002 and this is the first major problem I have encountered. If I could have given half a star, I would have. Hover, get your act together.

Hover will scam you

Was forced to use Hover when Vistaprint transferred all the clients to Hover. The autopayment didn't work like it always did with Vistaprint. To recover my account we need to pay 191 dollars. I recommend everyone NOT to use Hover they're scammers who Just want to rob you from as much money as possible.

Do not use if A UK business.

I recently encountered an issue with Hover regarding the auto-renewal of a domain name, and I feel compelled to share my concerns about their compliance with UK consumer protection laws.

My experience with Hover revealed potential breaches of key legislation designed to safeguard consumers' rights and ensure fair treatment in commercial transactions. Specifically, Hover's handling of the auto-renewal process raises questions regarding their adherence to the following laws and regulations:

1. Consumer Rights Act 2015: This fundamental legislation grants consumers the right to cancel contracts and receive refunds within a specified cooling-off period. Despite my timely request for cancellation upon becoming aware of the auto-renewal, Hover's refusal to provide a refund may contravene this law.

2. Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013: These regulations establish consumers' rights in distance selling and off-premises contracts, including the right to cancel contracts within 14 days. Hover's actions raise concerns about their compliance with these regulations.

3. Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999: These regulations aim to protect consumers from unfair terms in contracts that could restrict their statutory rights. Hover's refusal to refund the auto-renewal fee, despite the cancellation request falling within the cooling-off period, appears to be a clear violate these regulations.

4. The Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002: These regulations require businesses engaged in electronic commerce to provide transparent information to consumers, including details about their right to cancel contracts. Hover's failure to honour my cancellation request within the legally prescribed period raises questions about their compliance with this directive.

Overall, my experience with Hover has highlighted concerns about their commitment to complying with UK consumer protection laws. As a consumer, I expect companies to uphold these laws and treat customers fairly. I urge Hover to review their policies and practices to ensure full compliance with UK consumer protection legislation.

Terrible

Terrible. I needed them for the SIMPLEST thing: forward my emails from their address to mine. They didn't do it, fixed it, and it immediately broke again. Months later, they try to pretend I'm somehow to blame, and Nicole P is condescending and combative--and the problem is unresolved. They also won't issue a partial refund despite their service not working for months. They literally try to say "Don't have us forward to Gmail" when 99.99994% of people use Gmail. Incredible.

Nach der Umstellung von Vistaprint auf Hover hat nichts mehr funktioniert.
Meine Domain ist offline und keiner fühlt sich dafür zuständig.
Mir ist bereits ein finanzieller Schaden in Höhe von mehereren Tausend Euro entstanden dadurch dass Vistaprint und Hover meine Domain nicht richtig bearbeitet haben.
Ich kann beide Unternehmen nicht empfehlen. Absolut inkompetent und unzuverlässig!

Unreliable in service!

Unreliable in service!

This is the most customer unfriendly company ever.
They were forced on my by Wix and Vista Print and now I cannot get them to help me to transfer my Domain to another provider.
I have been trying to get their attention for months now, but they keep sending me information which does not work. Be careful with this company they are unreliable!!!

They offer free plan, and charge you without notification, PLEASE do no try anything with them, when you try to contact the customer service is rude, I got scammed by them.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND VISTAPRINT

Vistaprint passed my account to HOVER and their website does not work, they do not respond to any emails and now I have had to finish up my website they take your money and once they have done that they will NOT communicate with you I am very upset and will be taking this further

Bought a freezer, very noisy even in the room next door!

Bought a freezer which got more and more noisy, tried to use the warranty to investigate the issue to be told that if Hover deemed there to be no fault I would be charged in excess of £72!!! Great customer service? Also there’s no point in registering as the service team I spoke to had no information about my purchase and had me on my knees getting a model number! Great customer service?

Avoid if you can

Their communication is n/a, they won't help you when you need to connect a URL to your website that isn't in their list, AND THEY FAILED TO TELL ME THIS BEFORE I BOUGHT UP 6 URLs for my business! NOT IMPRESSED ONE BIT. Avoid like the plague.
