After a car accident when our son sustained a brain injury we got in touch with Hugh James who sent Matt Evens out to see us. From the very start Matt was so supportive and understanding to our situation nothing was too much trouble. We knew very little about what to expect but Matt explained everything in a way we could understand and took care of everything at a time where it was all too much for us to deal with. I would NOT recommend Hugh James whatsoever for any military claim or legal matters. My case took over 7 years settle, as I was put completely on the back burner due my case being slighty more complex. I would strongly recommend for any military claim, AVOID representation from Hugh James. Specifically Nia Wyn Evans and Annalisa Magno. Throughout the duration of the case, I constantly had to follow-up for any updates.

Though, relatively straightforward still, I feel neglected. I'm left with a significantly less amount than initially valued. I feel if you offer complexities rather than textbook cases Hugh James will leave you on the back burner whilst prioritising the easier cases. Which for any legal entity, this is completely wrong and unjust to represent clients in this way.

Having consulted advice from other legal firms throughout the process of my military claim, I wish I'd of gone elsewhere as it was certainly clear they didn't have my best interest as a client.

Whilst travelling to a work meeting, through no fault of my own, I was involved in a road traffic accident which caused a spinal cord injury and later the development of a functional neurological disorder. The injuries were life-changing and left me disabled. At the time, neither my family nor I truly understood the extent of what had happened to me or how drastically my life was about to change.

The first firm of solicitors I contacted visited me at home and told me my injuries were catastrophic and that they were unable to take on my case. That was one of the lowest and most frightening periods of my life. I felt abandoned, overwhelmed, and completely unsure of where to turn.

Mark Robinson was the solicitor who took on my case, and from that point onwards I no longer felt alone. Over the many years my case was ongoing, Mark was unfailingly patient, compassionate, and understanding. He recognised not only the seriousness of my physical injuries, but also the profound emotional and psychological impact they had on my life.

During this time, I was at my lowest on many occasions. I experienced memory loss and emotional distress and began writing things down simply to cope. When a long-awaited medical appointment was cancelled and I received no response from medical professionals, I felt completely lost and helpless.

In desperation, I telephoned Mark. Although he was unavailable at the time, he returned my call, as he always did. I spoke for over an hour, and Mark listened without judgement, never rushed me, and never made me feel like a burden. His patience, calmness, and understanding helped me through one of the darkest moments of my journey.

Mark and his team always went above and beyond to ensure my medical and personal needs were met, including making sure I was supported during meetings outside my home. As the team expanded over the years, it was clear that Mark had instilled the same values in every member. They were consistently kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, taking the time to listen, visiting me at home, and keeping me informed without ever making me feel overwhelmed.

There were many times when I felt I could not cope any longer, but with Mark’s support and guidance, I got through it. I will always be grateful not just for his legal expertise, but for the humanity, dignity, and compassion he showed me at every stage.
