Still a few offering free delivery by me but won't use if they disappear. Now owned by Just Eat. I notice many reviews are mistakingly reviewing the restaurants food not Hungryhouse. That's ridiculous - Hungryhouse have great customer service and just connect you with the takeaway. They don't cook the food.

Cheap service and dodgy restaurants.
Extremely poor service by their customers service agents as well as restaurants.
Not sure they are choosing the restaurant for customers buy believe that who gives more return to hungry house.
I placed an order and had email saying thanks for placing the order. Food dint arrive for 1 hour and then rang restaurant answered by some rude person saying we decline ur order back awesome we are busy...if u are busy then it's should be listed for orders...
Please don't use this hungry house or just eat now they are one business.

Rude restaurant, no info, poor food.
When I placed my order I was told by email that my food would be arriving at a certain time, but then when it was late I called the restaurant and was told that it would be delivered by a time more than 30 minutes after that which I had ordered my food for. They acted as though I should have known this l, but I was NOT informed by the app or emails prior to ordering it or even after ordering (by way of apology that my order was delayed).
If I had known my food would arrive so late I wouldn’t have ordered it. The person on the phone at the restaurant was rude and unhelpful.
Seriously unhappy, and no discount or refund offered. At least with Deliveroo and ubereats they give you an accurate estimate of when your food will arrive and live updates. Here, the only thing suggested was to call the restaurant, who were reallly unhelpful and rude.
Do not recommend using hungry house If you want decent food to turn up on time.

I was completely disgusted last night…
I was completely disgusted last night at the way I was spoken to by a member of your staff.
They had swapped one of my meals for something else, I called the restaurant and asked where my lamb tikka was but the manager just said I tried to ring you and it kept going to voice mail. This is an out and out lie, I was not on my phone and it was sat directly next to me.
The Chicken and rice were stone cold, the rest of the order was barely warm so we did not eat it, it went in the bin and instead my husband went out and bought some fish and chips.
I obviously wasn't worried as clearly customer service at hungryhouse would support my complaint, how wrong I was. The operator I spoke to on live chat was rude obnoxious and even told me to get it out of the bin! I asked to speak with a manager and he told me that no manager would want to speak to me.
I have screen Shot this conversation and will be contacting a manager, but as your company does seem to side with restaurants over regular customers I am not holding out any hope for a satisfactory resolution.

App hopeless
Food usually good (which is nothing to do with Hungry House)
App doesn’t always work properly and every time I order, the message telling me my order is on the way arrives at least an hour after the actual order so overall fairly useless - much better ordering direct from the supplier

Dreadful service
I have ordered from hungryhouse.co.uk quite a lot and I am very disappointed on the lack of customer support given when something goes wrong with an order. I received my order at 18.35 the entire order was cold hard so not edible for a pregnant woman and certainly not worth any money. I contacted them straight away and to my shock they sided with the restaurant and said it wasn't cold when it left them. In the meantime the courier has several deliveries and my order came cold. I was made to feel like I was lying the whole order was untouched still in the boxes. Dreadful service take the money and deliver shoddy service. Order 79442110. I have taken it up with PayPal and will certainly be taking my customer elsewhere they shouldn't be allowed to trade pizza rozza and definitely need some management in customer care. Just awful

Cold outside and the food is colder!
Sadly The Tiffin Tin at Wanstead forgot to deliver my soft drink and the food would have been delicious if it wasnt so cold.!
Not just one or two dishes but ALL of the food was cold. When I complained to Hungry house I said for them not to come all the way back again for just a bottle of coke (expensive at £2.35!) I would accept a refund. But also to tell the Tiffin Tin that the food was cold. Tiffin Tin said the delivery man just forgot to give me the coke but he was still in the area so begrudgingly they would give me the refund but did NOTHING about the fact that the food was cold. Not even an apology! They whined that they delivered it early. IT WAS STILL COLD! So not even sorry. Pardon me? I wanted it at 6.20 NOT 6.00! And now I have to put my oven on to heat the food through for my family coming home. If they had delivered it at the correct time and the correct temperature I would be a satisfied customer. The order for three people was £49.55 so it is not a cheap takeaway. And they have just lost our business. First and last try! Hey, The door bell just rang and my bottle of coke has been delivered! Hey again! It is now 7pm and I just had a call from the Tiffin Hut. "hello, our delivery man has delivered your coke yes? Well Hungry House have already refunded £2.35 to your account." Pause for my reply. I say what do you want me to do? He said well next time we will add it on. I was speechless. I just said OK like a pussycat because I couldn't be bothered with another row about the cold food! Reheated it was delicious so dont let all this put you off. Just beware! Maggie Regan

I used H.H because I thought there was a layer of protection against problematic orders. I've used them on and off. I was wrong. Paying the extra money to go through them instead of calling the restaurant direct to get it cheaper I felt was worth it but turns out was pointless. I'm not a fussy eater. I accept sometimes a delivery won't be up to par. Last month I took delivery of king prawns in black bean sauce rice prawn toast. This from may mei wok blackstock road finsbury park. I asked for extra black bean sauce. One woukd expect them to add extra sauce. No. The prawns were floating in a dark brown liquid. Yup. They had just added a lot of water so it looked like extra sauce. Utterly repulsive. I've never seen prawns in black bean sauce where they float like a tyre in a dirty river. The prawn toast was burnt. The rice congealed. Forget a fork. You'd need a knife to cut it. The can of coke was nicely chilled. I needed the coke to recover from the shock. I've never had a delivery like this. Impossible to let it go. Complain and hopefully they wouldn't do it again. Hungry House didn't want to know. Unbelievable. Pointed me to their customer service. Oh because you've disposed of it we can't do anything. Sorry I didn't know. Look at my account you'll see I never complain. Why would I try it on now ? So if you think you have protection by using Hungry House. You don't. Happy to take your money but when there's a problem get a good lawyer because getting their help without one isn't possible lol

Hopeless. Pointless layer of complication to a simple process. The online order does not go through to the restaurant until. 20 minutes before collection time- restaurant can’t fullfill orders in that time so food not ready. Some items not available but already paid for. The refund process is needlessly complicated... I will just phone the restaurant in future!

The problem with using Hungry House is that they don't enforce correct use of customer data. My partner and I have both received lots of ongoing SMS spam from companies after ordering from Hungry house- being our only (indirect) contact with the restaurants concerned.
If you raise this abuse of private data with Hungry House, you get fobbed off with vague promises that they will ask restaurant not to spam you any more. Nothing gets fixed or enforced, no-one gets booted off the service. Rotten to the core. Avoid, unless you like your phone getting spammed.
