Best platform to learn programming

As people here have already said, the study-tracks are simply great. The readings are short and to the point, and the exercises are well elaborated, not to mention the integration with JetBrains IDE to solve them, which makes the experience even better.
Sometimes we are able to find some mistakes (as you all will while reading my english :D), or maybe the integration with the IDEs stops working, but that doesn't make the experience (at least for me) worse in anyway. It actually makes it more realistic, since we'll deal with all sorts of malfunctions in a professional programming environment.
Most of the study material is about web development, Python (data science / AI), Java, Kotlin, databases and mobile development, which are the at this moment the demanded technologies in the labor market, and also other nice topics like Go, Scala, DevOps, with more coming in the future; and here one can learn from the very basic to some quite cool and advanced stuff in a fun way.
New study-tracks are often released, some in non-orthodox topics (at least for platforms to study programming) like Bioinformatics, which I think is great (personally, I can't wait to start this track). The courses in mathematics are also very special and will be of great use for those who want to learn data science and AI.
The projects are the cherry on the top of the cake, they help to sum up everything you learned so far, and they come in several flavors of difficulty, everyone will be able to do one regardless of their previous programming experience.
The interface and general experience with the website are (also :D) great, everything works as expected.
The interaction with other users is very good as well, the comment section and the hints are very helpful if you're stuck in an exercise, and after completing the exercise you can see other people's solutions (provided they hit the button to share it), which is unquestionably a very good way to learn; some of the users are programmers with lots of experience and being able to see how these folks solve the exercises is an unvaluable feature for our learning process. There's also a Discord channel where we can debate and ask questions about programming in general.
I miss a few things though, namely .NET, Fortran, R, assembly & machine code, cybersecurity, "computer parts" (something like the study guide for the CompTIA A+ certification) and network study tracks.
If I may be allowed one more personal statement, I am very grateful to hyperskill. You were the help I needed to finally get a job in a programming environment after struggling for a few years; hope everyone else trying it get there too.

Awesome Learning Experience!!!

No wonder it's a excellent tool to get upskilled, as it's from jetBrains. I really like the project based approach and all the concise theory attached to each lab.

10/10 education platform

In comparison to other coding platforms, it is definitely the best. The ability to work with your IDE and not just any Web-IDE with limited features really makes the difference. Furthermore, their explanations of rather complex topic are easy to understand and I even use Hyperskill as a documentation source for various other projects.

My very first course

This is a very first course in programming I have ever completed.
I thought I would never understand just basics, but thanks to Hyperskill I believed in myself and eventually finished this track.
I can't say it was easy. Some stages required much more time than "the average time" specified in the description to them. And some tasks during the studying the topics were challenging. But it was all worth it!
I strongly recommend this to anyone who is interested in learning Python, ready to study and not give up in the face of difficulties.

Recommend for everyone willing to learn…

Recommend for everyone willing to learn to code

Well, in general, I do like the platform. But there are some things that may make it a little bit harder for a beginner to complete the track. When I completed simple chatty bot, I moved on to dominoes. It appeared that I didn’t know split() yet and had no idea how to solve one of the exercises in list slicing topic, which, in turn, appeared to be taken from Python Core.
Fortunately, I realized I should complete the projects containing core topics first, because there’s no probability that there may be something I should know but don’t know yet.

So, I do recommend this track, but I also recommend starting with something simple like “simple chatty bot”, and then moving on to the projects that contain core topics.

I would really like to see some hint for beginners to do so, because otherwise they may think they missed something, or even get demotivated.

Yet, as I said, I really recommend the Python track for everyone willing to learn to code. You don’t need to start immediately with Python Core. Start slow, step by step, and develop expertise. It’ll eventually allow you to be able to choose what to learn next, because you will find out both your preferable learning style (for coding) and get a great deal of knowledge related to coding itself.

Introduction to Java

I stepped into the Java track out of curiosity. Got carried away. I will defenitely continue my training in other tracks. I learned to problem solve and de-bug my code along the way. It was decently challenging at the beginning and I now feel competent to work out problems though my code is often imperfect on the first attempt. I have gained confidence in my programming abilities. Over all the projects I built upon skills and familiarised myself with the basic concepts. My proficiency and the ease with which I tackle new objectives is increasing markedly. Being able to breakup a large project into manageable and actionable tasks providers a clear path forward to learning and progress.

The platform is great to learn how to code on your own. There are some theory and lots of practice, including actually functional projects, like tic-tac-toe and password hacker. I really liked the feature of studying via the IDE, which can be downloaded for free.

An excellent platform for learning programming

I first encountered the Hyperskill platform (then known as JetBrains Academy) in 2020. I have been involved with programming for some time, and back then (around the start of the Covid pandemic and lockdown), I had a bit more time, which I wanted to use constructively.

My first goal was to learn the Kotlin programming language (which I had heard was an excellent alternative to Java), and I wanted to use it to create mobile applications. With the help of Hyperskill, I achieved my set goal :-).

What I really liked was the form in which we learn. A bit of theory, but above all, practice through implementing projects of varying difficulty levels. Add to this a community that can support us in the learning process, and we have - in my opinion - a recipe for success.

I still use Hyperskill to this day and intend to continue doing so. Even if we have been programming professionally for years, on one hand, we often focus on a specific programming language and its ecosystem - trying something new allows us to break the routine and sometimes rediscover the joy in programming.

On the other hand, even if we have a computer science degree, we may still have some gaps in our knowledge that are worth filling. The way Hyperskill presents this information, as well as the diversity of paths, offers immense opportunities in this regard.

Hyperskill - my favorite learning platform

Hyperskill is my favorite educational platform. There you can choose from many "tracks" organized according to the popular programming languages (go, java, javascript, kotlin, python, scala) and/or programming fields (e.g.: mobile, frontend, backend, general algorithms, machine learning, NLP, and so on). There are even some tracks devoted to bioinformatics.
The basic 'study unit' is a theoretical 'topic' (there are currently about 2,000 of them) along with certain 'problems' to solve (about 8 of them per topic on average), that help you gain a deeper understanding of your current topic - some of them are just single or multiple-choice tests, some require jumbled pieces of code to be put in the right order, and some involve naming an appropriate function or writing a simple program.
By solving these problems you can learn not only from the theoretical part prepared by the Hyperskill team but also from comments and hints written by other students.
And the best thing is that all these theoretical topics are just a background to prepare you for creating projects.
The projects (currently around 300) are really very, very diverse - ranging from kindergarten-level ones that require knowledge of only basic input/output commands (let's name the very cute 'Zookeepr' family of projects prepared in many different programming languages) through business-analytics-like projects (e.g. HR Data Analysis), till advanced ML and online services projects - for example like:
- building from scratch the neural network that recognizes the handwritten digits,
- implementing graph path-finding algorithms that operate on real London subway data
- building online services accessed via an API with 2FA (two-factor authentication)
- dealing with single bits to hide encrypted messages inside image files.
Personally, I love this way of learning, and that's why I can honestly recommend Hyperskill to anyone who wants to learn programming.
And the crème de la crème - active learners get an all-products-pack Jetbrains IDE license.
