It has been the most incredible journey from the very start and I want to thank you all so very very much for making our dreams a reality.

Our world has been turned upside down over the last few years when mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and we were left trying to work out the best option going forward for how we can support mum without taking away her independence.

We looked at so many different options which were just not practical and then we came across an advert online for Ihus so we reached out and made our initial enquiry.

From the first conversation and online meeting with Andrew, we knew we were going to be in safe hands. Andrew just knew what we needed and how we could achieve this (whilst also future proofing the annexe without making it look clinical)

Andrew visited and spent the day with us to make sure all details were discussed and explained next steps and processes.

The fact that this was done in person and not just over a phone made it even more personal.

Ground surveys were conducted and final checks of the site were signed off.

Once we had confirmed the final design and accessories we went to planning!

Which I must say was handled so well and all we had to do was sit back and wait!

Jan and Jo in the office checked in regularly to ensure everything was on track and made us aware of any upcoming payments and next steps.

12 weeks later planning was approved and we had the green light to go!

This is when things started to get real and we met the first members of our projects team - James was project lead and he was so happy to answer any questions and nothing was too much trouble!

Communication throughout the build was brilliant and James kept up us to date with the project stages.

Jan and Jo checked in every week from here just to make sure all was well and again this just made it so much more personal.

Joe and his groundwork team started and they worked super hard! There was a few hurdles that they faced in the garden however nothing phased them and Joe always worked out a plan!

Once the groundwork’s were done - the annexe build began.

Andrew and his team mate arrived and we were blown away at how hard they worked!! They made sure everything was perfect and to such a high standard.

I would highly recommend Andrew for any annexe builds!

Our beautiful annexe was built and it was time for handover.

James made the trip back down and made sure that even the smallest finishing touches were added to the annexe before mum was handed the keys to her beautiful new home.

It’s been an incredible journey and we cannot thank the team at Ihus enough for making this happen for us!

We have recently had our Annexe completed by iHus.
From start to finish they have been amazing. It has taken all the stress out of us trying to organise having an Annexe built for my dad, particularly with my husband and I working full time.

The finished product is excellent, the time scale was amazing and the builders and project manager on site were very professional and went above and beyond to get us our completed annexe in the timescale. The work ethic of the builders was amazing.

We are very happy with the finished product and would recommend the company to anyone wanting a stress free build.

We had our Ihus annexe completed just over two years ago. We decided to wait on submitting a review until everything had settled down and the site had had an opportunity to recover. The projection of the build period was 10-12 weeks and was completed in 12 weeks.

Like all building projects of this nature, there was always going to be unforeseen problems arising and a difficult sloping site did lead to some fraught situations. The sight of an extremely deep hole appearing in our lawn did concern us and it was at these early stages that a more hands on project manager, appearing more regularly on site, would have smoothed the path and contained our anxiety. However, we found Coco and his workforce very approachable to many of our concerns.

If we had any criticism of lhus, it would be not to recognise what they see as norm during the building process to them can look alarming to a customer who is watching a building site materialise into what was once a lovely area. We also had a new sewage system and tank installed and this obviously caused extra damage at the time to the site. This area has now fully recovered.

Putting all this aside, we have to say that the finished result is excellent. There were some snagging problems, some of which had to be delayed to the following Spring. Several problems came to light over this period, mostly due to the previous project manager failing to look at the finished annexe in any detail. During the build we had to direct any of our concerns to the Ihus Management at Head Office to try resolve the issues and this proved extremely stressful, as they were so detached from the situation.
However, once Wayne, the After Sales Manager, and his team arrived on the scene everything changed! Wayne and his crew fully understood the need to keep the customer in the picture at all stages of the snagging issues. Their attention to detail was very reassuring. Nothing was too much trouble once we had Gary and Shane on site. We really wish that we'd had Wayne at the beginning of our project, as a lot of our anxieties would have been resolved by him immediately.
That said, the finish of the annexe is to a very high standard and we would not hesitate to recommend Ihus. However, we would suggest, before committing to your project, that you take the opportunity to visit an annexe already being occupied and obtain any advice first hand from the owners, which Ihus will happily arrange for you.

We had an annexe built, for my mother, by iHus in Dec 2021. The process started extremely well from our first contact with Nigel. He went through everything with us in great detail, gave us helpful advice and was always available to answer questions.
The build went very smoothly and the team worked tirelessly, in all weathers, to complete the build within the given timeframe. Their work ethic was extremely impressive, arriving early and working until late. They caused no disruption to our day and were professional and courteous.
During the whole process, Jan kept us up to date with progress.
Nearly 3 years on and my mother is as happy in the annexe as she was on day one. It's warm in winter and cool in the summer.
I would highly recommend iHus.

Awful company, we had issues with them from Day 1, promised the earth and delivered s**t. As soon as they had the money our issues went in one ear and out the other. Non English speaking work crew was main issue at the start as no communication could be properly established, no walls are straight, the finish is appalling our garden was left like a bomb site, they finally sent 3 chaps in to look over my complaints and concerns which again ended up as a complete waste of time...don't hand over the final payment to your happy we did and regretted it. We had to chase our 6 month review, which took 9 months they repainted all the splits and cracks in a different colour magnolia.....unbelievable company from what they originally promised...be careful as we totally regret our ihus annexe and I have to look at it every day and it stills grinds my gears how badly we was treated and how they have no empathy or understanding, they only understand obe thing... MONEY that's the only thing they ever ring for...be warned.....

We did our research before we ordered and took advantage of seeing a previously supplied annexe. Speaking to someone who had dealt with ihus was extremely helpful and reassuring for such a large investment. Once we decided to proceed the whole process including planning although this was lengthy was well organised, efficient at a pace suitable to us. Nigel Woolridge helped us with the layout and internal options and changes prior to build were no problem to redraw. During the build process the ihus team kept us informed of progress and even came up with some ideas that we had not thought of. In all the service was brilliant. We have had the annexe for 3 years now and its as good as the day it was finished. I can certainly recommend ihus to anyone looking to buy an annexe.

I have now been in my annexe for two years and I am still thrilled with it. The insulation is so good that it costs very little to heat it in the winter. I had a couple of snags but Ihus immediately sent one of their maintenance employees to fix it. I am so thankful we found Ihus and I wholeheartedly would recommend them. A brilliant company to deal with

We are thrilled with our new annexe.The workmanship and finish of the build is outstanding. It was a seamless process from initial contact to completion and handover. All personnel involved in the process were very professional and customer service exceptional.
We have nothing but praise for this company.If you are thinking of taking the plunge and investing in an annexe you are in very safe hands with ihus.

Couldn't be more impressed. We did a lot of research before choosing iHus. They were the most professional, friendly and flexible. Even so, you always go into these projects with a bit of trepidation, hoping you've made a good decision. Everyone we dealt with has been great. The team on site during the build were always friendly, hard working and helpful. We've just had the keys handed over after the 8 week build and we're super happy with it all. It looks great, and inside it's lovely. I don't write many reviews, but really did feel compelled to say what a great experience it has been.

iHUS is an amazing company from start to finish and continues to support us. Nigel, Dean, Jan, Kelly, and the entire team were incredibly supportive, and the workmen were brilliant. Despite some mud during construction due to the weather, we can honestly say there was no other disruption! The workers arrived early and worked hard every day, rain or shine.

The annexe quality is outstanding. Mum, who moved from a four-story, three-bedroom house she’d lived in for 58 years to a one-bedroom annexe, says she wouldn’t change a thing—even if she won the lottery! It truly feels like a home. Leaving her long-time home and everything she knew was difficult, but iHUS made the transition so much easier.

Property prices are much higher where we live, and Mum wouldn’t have found anything in good repair. Building the annexe was far more affordable and eliminated the need for renovations.

Mum used to live an hour away, and after Dad passed, it became challenging for me to visit regularly due to work commitments. She had some health scares, and the distance made things difficult.

Now, she has a brand-new, cozy home just a stone's throw away. She’s close to family, often comes over for tea, and we chat in the garden. I can't recommend iHUS enough.

Each member of the team is so kind and caring, which is rare. If you’re considering an annexe, don’t hesitate—they even handle the planning application! Nothing is too much trouble.

Quality of the build was absolutely superb. All elements of the build from start to finish went without any issues.

We engaged ihus to build a annexe in our garden. During the build there were several aspects which gave cause for concern. For example: some of the preassembled sections for internal walls were found to be of the wrong size and had to taken apart and reassembled on site. The guys on site were wonderful but the manager was a waste of space. In a ten week programme he visited just four times and one of those was for handover.
We are still waiting for an electrical safety issue to be resolved some four months after it was raised.
It's a shame because the building is fine just the project management and communication that's poor. It also felt very rushed and that there was an overly urgent approach to get the money.
This is no a small enterprise and perhaps that's the reason they have, it would seem, lost their customer focus.
Be cautious if you are thinking of using them and perhaps consider employing a surveyor to monitor the project on your behalf.

We had a bad experience with Ihus
We had a bad experience with Ihus. After having planning permission refused twice before from our local council and spending lots on architects, we were really worried and apprehensive with spending anymore money and having planning refused.

IHUS gave us peace of mind, telling us we pay the £4000 deposit and planning fee and if unsuccessful that money would be returned. The local council granted planning permission but only for 3 years with a demolition date. Meaning we would have to re-submit planning all over again in 3 years time. The build would cost us £130.000 and I find it astonishing that Ihus has said they have achieved planning and now the money will not be returned. £4000 is huge to our family and now has left us unable to move forward and my elderly father will now not have a house to live in and cannot afford a house.

We really thought we had found the perfect company for our needs and for our future but it has been an absolute nightmare.
