JD Gyms - Leeds South Reviews 

After moving house I found my local jdgym as I used the North one and love it the South one is very small with no ladies gym which was disappointing as its good to use if the main gym is busy also the price has considerably gone up from my usual in the past years but I feel comfortable in the gym and it's compact with machines easy to find with sauna and showers staff were all friendly with a smile will always stay with this gym for my fitness im 60 soon and will keep going to keep fit never let age stop you

Really nice gym, the kit is always clean and nicely presented.
Would be nice if staff engaged more with members, maybe seeing more on the gym floor chatting to people, could be the time I'm coming but don't seem to see many on the gym floor engaging with members. Also around the leg section, would be nice to have some more plates around there. Doesn't seem to be many given there a lot of plate loaded machines in that area. Eats up a lot of session time trying to find plates that are not being used. Other than that, a good gym, nicely priced and cleanliness is great.

Very commercial gym with an identity crisis.

The biggest problem I found was that the gym is a jack of all trades and master of none. It's trying too hard to be everything to everyone.

The cardio area could do with reducing in size with room made for more popular machines (smiths machines, currently only 2 in a huge gym). The incline benches weren't bolted to the floor and I managed to get mine rocking backward while pressing.

Range of motion on a lot of the machines could do with looking at, and they have limited adjustment and the range seemed wrong on quite alot. The abdominal crunch machine was awkward and unwieldly, frequently striking you at the back of the head if not concentrating whilst in motion.

Free weight was pleasantly abundant with many duplicates (particulary the dumbells). Good sized gym let down by poor layout and choice of machines.

Friendly staff good equipment ,and nicely spaced out.

cause we dont have support at wall, someone to help if you have trouble to use machines. i will stay just this mount cause i paid for that

the whole deal was great. the facilities and equipment excellent and all round better than the council run centres. 👍😃

Good gym plenty of equipment but the app could be way better and staff don’t seem to be present at all. Isn’t obvious where classes are held

I'm a returning customer after a short hiatus because of injury. I love this gym it, the staff are great and helpful the equipment is always in good working order and very rarely are you tripping over weights that others haven't put away. This gym is loads better than pure gym.

Gym not bad but really crowded, most annoying thing are healthy people blocking disabled parking bays with is a disgrace.

Gyms are set out well. Easy to use of the machines.

So I've been a gym member for two years, I have only one complaint about personal trainers
when they train with people, they block the machine for 15 minutes, 5 minutes of which are exercises and the rest are conversations (not about exercises)!
if they want to talk let them walk away and don't block machines for others! this happens every day and it's disrespectful for others who want to do a workout!

Good evening, first time as a JD member and felt it was a little dark. Apart from that all was good

Great gym apart smelly showers. I like hot sauna, but the one in a gym is skin burning not hot.

First of all I would like to start with the thing that in my first day in the gym i was harassed by a member of staff starting shouting at me because I didn’t know that they are closing the changing area at from 12:00 to 5:00 am ! I would like to continue with the fact that in the changing area smells really bad you can’t use it ! In the gym is freezing and because there are just a few machines you need to wait for at least 30 min to can start working on them ! They stop the sauna at 10 or 10:30 pm and close the changing room witch includes showers at 12:00 midnight with an advert on the door that you can’t actually see because the door is fully opened all day untill 12:00 ! They only have a single entrance where you can scan the code to grt in and out so you wait there as well ! For a 2 hours training you may spend like 4 hours ! Reply to the Gym reply ! I don’t know what changing room or shower you talk about in the Gym i go is only one changing room witch is closed 12:00 till 5:00 ! The lack of staff is not my problem i pay for full experience in the Gym and I don’t get it .

Really helpful staff and all aspects of the gym were very clean.
