I fully respect JD Gyms’ policy of a minimum age of 16 membership However I was extremely disappointed at to how the manger handled the situation with my son. Instead of showing care or professionalism, they spoke to him rudely, asked him to leave immediately, and left him standing outside in the rain while waiting for me to collect him.

When I arrived, I attempted to discuss this calmly with the manager at the Rotherham branch and we know who that is even though I can’t mention there name but he was dismissive, rude, and unnecessarily aggressive. While I understand the importance of enforcing rules, there is no reason they cannot be enforced with courtesy and respect. This experience left me with serious concerns about the professionalism and customer service standards at this branch. It’s extremely concerning that if the manager at the Rotherham branch can speak to paying customers like he did what impression is he giving to other staff members and his colleagues.

Been going for a while just lacks of workout mats for burn section which they looked dated and with been doing martial arts it needs equipment to practice kick techniques as it provides for boxing.....but just needs more improvements

The staff are friendly and very helpful when you need them
I loved the fact that the gym is open 24hours as I had problems sleeping so now when I can’t sleep I can go and do my workout
And I still feel safe going to the gym at like 3am knowing that you have to scan your membership to get in

Really enjoying it expecially with it been 24hr obviously i can go down even on the night i can't sleep obviously gets busy after work still can get on with things not done any classes yet i am fancying a couple in the future need to build my cardio up more first nice clean changing room for men's anyway definitely recommend them

I like the overall structure of the gym. However, I also noticed that there were no sprays or any kind of cleaning products for when you’ve done using the equipment. The vending machines were also broken.

I recently joined this gym thinking there would be a trainer available to guide me through the workouts, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. It would have been more helpful if someone was around to explain how to get started or assist with a basic workout plan.

On the positive side, the environment is great , clean, energetic, and motivating. It really encouraging to exercise and stay focused, which I appreciate.

I would recommend the management consider offering a day pass option. That way, new members could try the facilities before committing to a full membership.

Overall, a decent place to work out — just needs a bit more support for newcomers.

Currently training here now but looking for another gym. Used to be decent but now they have let it go completely. It's all about how many people can get through the door. The rubber on the bars are falling to pieces , the lat pull down machine pads are literally being held together by a plastic bag. The chairs at the weight section are literally falling to pieces.So much potential for this gym if someone actually gave it love and care. Needs a lot of new equipment, cables need to be oiled. This place needs some love and by the looks of it no one cares.

Was a member years ago and definitely looks better than it did , my only criticism would be that the ladies only area isn’t big enough ,

My experience at JD gym so far has been amazing it very clean and loads equipment to use

Poor experience at this gym. Gym is packed at 7am on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Can’t get on many machines due to how busy it is. If you actually want a good workout I recommend going at 3am when it’s quiet. Plus membership fees have gone up to £26.99 a month too. Won’t be coming back here

Awful gym. Think this gym invites machine destroyers at night time because half the machines are broken. Decided to close the lads changing rooms through the day as well. Always busy, still packed at 7am on a weekend. Plus their rising membership prices too. Big red flag

On my 1st visit i found it like ... 3-4 trys to get in. Changing rooms yes but take your own lock? (I think) And no cubicle to get changed in after getting a shower? Good equipment and helpful staff.

Excellent service great choice of equipment the only problem I find is that if you go after 10pm there is no toilet access after this time as the changing rooms are locked after this time

Absolutely the worst out of many other JD gyms I've been to ! Outdated equipment not even slightly upgraded since it was Xercise4less, no sauna and horrible staff!!
Also apparently now you can't even take a shower at 9.50pm because they close showers at 10. Wtf ?! I didn't want to have a long bath just a 3min shower after training !! Absolutely ridiculous!! Definitely worth a travel to a different gym. I've been a member since day 1 but enough is enough, fck this place

Overall the facilities are great, but...
Serious issues regarding spin bikes, maintenance and availability due to breakdowns. Apparently new bikes are on order?
The studio floor needs to be rubberized for high intensity classes. The space is huge and could be divided into two studios saving cost on changing just one floor surface.

Absolute disgrace with spin bikes at JD Gyms - Rotherham!! Yesterday there were 8 broken bikes and now there are 10!! It’s like a graveyard for old broken bikes in there!!

We’ve been saying these need replacing for months and months but nothing has been done about it. People keep turning up for class and there are no free bikes, even if you come 20 mins early! It’s frankly dangerous when your pedal comes off in the middle of a spin class but the gym are not listening to us. 16 months as a member now and nothing has changed.

We pay our membership every month so you need to do your bit. Sort it out JD! If you didn’t have such amazing instructors (Kelly, Fiona, Sonja, Dom, John, Lauren.) then many members would have moved gyms by now!! 😠 There are plenty of other places for people to go in Rotherham.

25 % of the spin bike are out of commission in bits in the studio and the bikes still out for use are in poor working order.
