I enrolled my daughter to trail Graphic design classes to check her interest on that topic. During enrollment it was clearly mentioned that amount will not be deducted right away and will be used to deduct only if we wish to continue after 4 week trial ends.
There was no much content in the first class. There was a button at the bottom to unlock Module 1 and no cost was mentioned against it (unlike for toolkit which says $40). We unlocked the module and bam.. $70 was deducted from the credit card used during registration!! We would have anyway completed the module 1 during the free trial. Why was I charged for this??? How in the world are we supposed to know about the hidden costs! Shaw academy is a conducting a scam in the name of education!!
We enrolled our daughter only to know her interest level so that she could have continued if she liked it in future!
Now, they are refusing to give the refund and saying membership is cancelled and 6 month total access is provided!
I just want my money back and never want to associate with this fraud company ever again !!!!!

I was given a 4-week free trial on the 15th of July 2020 and decided to opt-out after a week because I don't have enough time for it.

After I went through the ultra misleading cancellation process and opted out the service, I received a bill of AUD 69.99 tonight for a Premium Membership without my consent.

I am currently requesting a refund and cancel the membership. Will update when I got more information. Please stay away from Shew Academy!!!

Bad experience with this academy,cheated my money by giving a blank certificate with no recognition.Still they are advertising on social media that they are giving accredited certificate.Fake promises to the public!! They even lied to me that will give me back refund but ended up they blocked me.I have all the evidences showing that they are misleading the public

Impossible to cancel anything as they make it so difficult. They make taking your money seriously easy. Information on their website about canceling does not work nor does the phine number given. Nothing worked on their courses but they still take money. They said they would deal with my enquiry but still haven't. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I signed up for a free trial of a Shaw Academy creative writing course late in the evening on July 27, 2020. Upon arriving to my class page, a pop up ad advertising a "toolkit" came up. I tried to click away from the page and was informed my "purchase was successful." One click purchases? Seriously? And ones that happen even if you don't click on the buy button? I therefore contacted Shaw and informed them I had not purchased the tool kit and politely asked for a refund and they insisted I had purchased the toolkit, then tried to bribe me with a useless free certificate that they somehow decided was worth over $100 like that was what I wanted in the first place. I then filed a dispute through PayPal for the charges and escalated the emails to Shaw Academy. They then informed me that they couldn't issue a refund as long as the dispute was active, which is an outright lie since issuing a refund automatically ends a PayPal dispute. You can see evidence for this on PayPal's website. I also asked repeatedly for them to confirm my membership had been permanently canceled and they have refused to do so. My account has been overdrawn as a result of their unscrupulous actions.

Shaw academy were doing scam with people they gave you free trial after trial they charged you money automatically without notifying you and the same happened with me I didn't get reminder email for renewing but insted email for deduction.They charged me through paypal without even notifying.My registered email id kartiktom0(at)gmail.com on shaw academy .I request you to cancel my membership and refund my whole amount as soon as possible.

Shaw Academy is a SCAM!!! Search Shaw Academy Scam and they are all over the web. I am still struggling with cancelling my subscription to them. There is virtually no way out. You cannot delete or unlink your payment details. And there is no clear way to cancel. Horrible company! They are trying to get money out of innocent students who wanted to learn something. Shame on you Shaw Academy!!! Your time will come.

BUT THE WEBSITE STATES TO CALL THE NUMBER BELOW TO CONFIRM CANCELLING>>>WHICH I HAVE TRIED CALLING OFFICE AT 732-702-3123 WITH ACCOUNT NUMBER 44920 WHICH IS ON THE CANCELLATION .. WHEN CALLING THIS NUMBER IT STATES ACCOUNT NUMBER INCORRECT SO YOU CANNOT GET THRU TO ANYONE. THEN WHEN LOOKING AT WEBSITE THERE IS NO OTHER AVAILABLE CONTACT INFORMATION NO OTHER PHONE NUMBERS TO CALL.. WHICH IS SET UP BY COMPANY IM SURE TO COLLECT AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE BEFORE A COMPLAINT IS FILED. I HAVE KEPT COPIES OF ALL INFORMATION THE MONIES 69.99, WAS TAKEN FFROM MY ACCOUNT 0000 ON 07/27/2020 WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION AND YOU KNOW THIS VERY WELL.. I read the reviews after I subscribed for a 4 weeks FREE trial and where it clearly states that I will not be charged.
So I went to requested a cancellation which I successfully did on the app.

Only few hours later I got 2 deductions for absolutely nothing. I notified the bank and blocked my CC and I was asked to provide a confirmation of cancellation which they never provide. You request they ignore.

I have signed up with Shaw Academy during the Coronavirus lockdown here in Ireland. I began my membership with them around the beginning of the month of June. The course I began was the Social Media Marketing, as it was being advertised for free at the time. I have done about 2 modules of the course and have not even completed module 2 in full, when on July 1st two purchases were made from my account:
1) For the value of €49.99 and
2) For the value of €39.99
In each case, there was no reason for the purchases to have been made as no new content appeared on my account, and no new toolkits were available. The amounts were taken from my account within several hours of each other, during which time I was not even active in my Shaw Academy portal or my account. I was working, and had seen that two amounts were taken from my bank account. In other words, the purchases amounted to nothing as no new toolkits or new content had been made available.

Upon emailing Shaw Academy IMMEDIATELY, I was told that I had authorised the purchases by clicking on the 'buy now' option in the email/my account. However as I was inactive on my account at those times this is impossible. In their first response back, I was told that T & C's prevent them from being able to refund me and was told the following:

" I would like to offer you credit to the value of $199 which can be used for your Certificate of Completion and also 3 remaining module toolkit and 1 hard copy diploma which will be activated within a few hours "(This is a direct copy and paste from the email).

I have responded demanding a refund and explained the situation again. Their second response was:

"I do checked with my financial team regarding the refund., but unfortunately we are not able to process the refund as per the terms and conditions.
These terms are stated and accepted before account creation.T&C please see section 4 and 5.
How very as your are valuable member of our academy, I will help you with the complete free life time membership as a gesture of goodwill please accept the proposal and please contact us back with the accepting the proposal." (Direct copy& paste).

I have responded again statingt hat this is a scam and I have never authorised those purchases, or even made them myself. Their third responde was:

"I have tried to come up with something further and the very best I can possibly do is to increase that to your Certificate of Completion, All courses Toolkit plus two Hard Copy Diplomas worth $499 which will be activated within 24 hours. I am genuinely doing everything I can to help here as your goals are important to me and us." (Direct copy & paste).

Could somebody please explain to me how offerring someone something to the value of $499 is more financially feasable then just refunding the original €49.99 and €39.99 that had been taken form their account in the first place?

This is nothing short of scamming, and it is highly disappointing. I have lost all faith and trust in anything to do with this company in the future and would highly advise against joining them or starting any of their courses.

I signed up for a ‘free’ 4 week trial on well-being. As soon as I entered my details, there was a button to click. It was a toolkit, but of course, you can’t see the T&Cs that it is a one-off purchase and non-refundable. I didn’t realise this, within minutes I contacted them to request a refund but they said if is non-refundable! But then offered me more courses and certificates to the value of $199. I refused this, telling them I would not be clicking any link for fear of more money being deducted from my account without my consent. They then offered me more courses and more certificates to the value of $499. Why are they quoting me in dollars when they are in Dublin??? I refused again and with each bombardment of emails from them, I bombard them back. They are totally unethical, fraudulent scammers! I will not stop until they refund my £39.95 they stole from me. I have reported them for fraud to my bank and the police.

From my last review it just got worse, I applied for Project Management, and guess what, only Module 1 is their, 2-4 has not even been made yet, but Shaw still expect you to pay!!! They are a total SCAM stay as far away as possible

The Support you get from Shaw is Horrible, they try and cheat you out of money. Everything is cheap until you become a premium member, then the prices increases by 120% you struggle to get hold of them, and when you do they dont adress your problems fully, more like a automated response.

Since my experience on 8th July 2020, I have read many reviews and social media reports on Shaw Academy. Their modus operandi appears to be to lure potential students into a free 4-week on-line course and then charge them after the first lesson for a membership fee; to access study notes or e-certificates etc.
They then make it extremely difficult to cancel the agreement and make numerous offers of further free products or upselling of products, rather than refund. When one registers for the free on-line course, one has to provide credit card details (to avoid duplicate registrations) they charge R10, which they immediately reverse. When you are charged, there is no indication from them that you have been charged, except for a notification from your own bank. You can’t cancel your membership on-line before calling a call centre, but then they say that they can’t reverse the funds. After numerous attempts to contact and call, I received a telephone call from an agent, who agreed to process a refund after telling me that he couldn’t process one and trying to make me further upselling offers. I have no written confirmation that this will happen and am waiting to see. Meanwhile, I am fortunate that no further funds have been taken out of my Discovery Credit Card, because the bank has taken no action to help me block or blacklist Shaw Academy. I have also asked that they remove my details from their database, but this has not been confirmed. There are many posts on social media, Facebook, uTube, Trust Pilot etc. which claim that Shaw Academy do not comply with the National Credit Act in the respective countries in which they operate. It is also reposted that their accreditation status as a training academy has been revoke and that their Trust Pilot status is invalid. There are also reports that they pay customers to provide positive comments. Discovery Bank may argue that I provided my credit card details, which I did, but I am asking for a refund of an immaterial amount and peace of mind that there are no further charges to my card. Shaw Academy business is unethical and I want it be blacklisted and other consumers to be protected.

Do not take free trial. Didn’t even select a course and charged for a two course subscription. Sent emails asking to choose a course so knew hadn’t used or chosen and still charged and for two unused un selected courses. 15 year old looking at free trial loosing all her allowance 😡

This company charges you without your knowledge and is a 100% scam. They never even e-mail you to let you know that they signed up and there's no way for you to even get into your account to cancel before they charge you again. Canceling your membership is such a tedious process that it is clear that their goal is to prey on vulnerable people. Do NOT get lost in this scam. It is not worth your time or effort. I'm currently fighting to get a refund as we speak.

This company is nothing more than a thieving scam. - They will offer a 'free' 4 wk. course and then make it impossible for you to cancel before the 4 weeks are up. They then debit an amount from your bank/PayPal account without any notification whatsoever.
They also operate a one-click purchase trap where pop-ups appear with a price tag but no information. A lot of victims have unwittingly clicked on these pop-ups only to be automatically charged the amount advertised, usually around £39.95. They then have to fight tooth and nail to get the money back.
I signed up for a 'free' 28 day graphic design course only to find I couldn't get through to anyone on the phone line on day 27. The next day £47.99 was debited from my PayPal account. I should have been more suspicious when they requested payment details.
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY FREE COURSE FROM THIS COMPANY WHATSOEVER!!!! YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!!!!!

A scam of a service. Appears professional BUT good luck when/if you want to cancel your trial subscription...its almost impossible and your account WILL be debited! No info provided on their "Toolkits" except the price...and if one clicks this, one is debited immediately. No refund and referres back to their Ts & Cs. Beware!!

SCAM do not trust them they will take your money.
I've just heard back from them that they won't refund me but they are missing the point that i didn't get a reminder before money was withdrawn from my account. i was offered (by phone) when i called to cancel my free subscription, a second module for free and there was NO MENTION WHATSOEVER about them enrolling me on the third one, without my consent, and charging me. AND EVEN THOUGH i never even took a single course from the second module, they decided to withdraw money automatically from my account for the 3rd module and refuse to give a refund.
SHAME ON EVERY EDUCATIONAL BODY THAT takes advantage of students to make money and profit...SHAME ON YOU SHAW ACADEMY...
i am re-requesting my entitled full refund for a module i never wanted in the first place.

It's easy to register but hard to cancel. I signed up on 9th of July for the free trial and decided to cancel it right away after seeing some bad reviews for them and their fraudulent activity. I emailed them multiple times in a day to terminate my subscription and to remove all my personal details from their system including my email address, cellphone number and bank details but still no reply. They charged me for the toolkit which I didn't even purchase and I demand a refund. PLEASE NOTICE ME, REMOVE MY SUBSCRIPTION AND MY PERSONAL DETAILS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY OR I WILL EXPOSE HOW SCAMMERS YOU TRULY ARE
